    "I wonder..." She reached out and took his arm. A connection, like the one from earlier that day, opened. Daniel felt like he could better understand the way she imagined the fire, and let the desk be aflame without controlling each aspect of its form and motion.

    The desk went up in flames, and they felt a wave of heat as it flickered and spat.

    She walked up next to him. "Okay, what should I try?"

    "A lot. You can't really physically do or change anything, thought you can make things appear real as much as the senses and be tricked."

    "Why is the word blue? Was it dyed, is it just a unique feature of the wood itself?" She frowned. "I guess I misspoke. You kind of need to know that you're just seeing it, but at the same time you imagine that whatever you are making appear to be true was always the case."
