    She didn't stir. The other girl appeared at the top of the stairs. "She'll be fine."

    "Hey wait--" She didn't think he was actually going to do it. Crap. Behind the door, there were dusty crusty musty wooden stairs leading down to a stone room, which was mostly empty save for one thing. Lillian's form lay on the floor, bruised and battered. She looked... dead. But no. Even as she lay there seemingly lifeless, her chest rose and fell silently. Confirming life. Confirming hope. There was something on her neck, though. A tattoo. A weird twisting calligraphy character, written in a strange language. It was glowing ever so slightly, but the light was dim. It was flickering. Next to her lay another rat. This one was dead. @Through The Living Glass

    you guys ever read old text streams from middle school and cry inside a little bit for the little kid who just wanetd to feel loved

    who didn't realize that people didn't like her as much as she thought they did

    who didn't realize that some of her friends were just trying to be nice bc they felt sorry for her

    who didn't realize that she was worth something

    who wasn't able to talk about her feelings

    who hurt her friends on accident

    who woke up every day just wanting to go to bed

    who was scared of the dark

    who tried her best even though it was hard

    who didn't care what other people thought of her

    who felt lonely, despite trying so hard to have friends

    who felt lonely even among friends

    who felt like she wanted to die, even thouhg she didn't fully know what that meant yet

    who cried alone

    who didn't know what grief was

    who didn't know how to set boundaries

    who didn't know how to say no

    who wanted to be loved so badly that she would do stupid things for attention

    who wanted to move on but she didn't know how

    who had to grow up too early
