  1. “I don’t have to put up with this.” Sykel pushed past him. Idiot.
  2. Sykel stared at him flatly for about three seconds before she shook it. It was a brief shake. [I’ll go back to italics and add brackets] {He didn’t believe me at first. Then he thought is was a dream. Then he believed me.}
  3. HALY CAN YOU DO HALY? PLEASE?? If so…
  4. Sykel glided in with an eye roll. “I’m right here.” Oh, uh… yeah. Yes we did. Haly smiled. It was sad and then awesome and stuff.
  5. Just then, the hairs on Kealie’s arm stood up—the left arm. It felt like the ghost of a wind, not a real breeze, but a semblance. She doubted anyone else could feel it, and though it was small, something felt wrong about it.
  6. GAHHHHH SHES BEAUTIFULLLLL SO GOOD OF A JOB YOU DID
  7. Nayka looked around with wide eyes. “This place is amazing,” she breathed.
  8. Haly stepped through as well, wishing she had a sword. “Okay. Let’s go.”
  9. Haly felt no awkwardness of the sort. She bounced back to the others, full of energy and ready to fight some monsters.
  10. She sighed in relief before it occurred to her that it didn’t matter anymore. “I don’t know. You were all red, and he was all smug, and he’d offered to ask that… I think I gave five different answers and jumbled them all.”
  11. Surprise was swiftly replaced by gladness and a song, hardly perceptible, woven by her Harmony. Finally. Oh, TAAron, you’re amazing. She hugged him back, then eventually asked, “So what did Lerac tell you?”
  12. She clutched his hand with both of hers, as if afraid he’d let go again. She laughed a little. “You’re so good with words. All I have are my feelings—and all of those are pounding in my ears right now, so hard I can’t think. And that’s completely your fault. The funny thing is, though, that’s perfect. That’s exactly how it should be right now, and I can’t think of anything better to say, so… I guess that will have to suffice.”
  13. “No,” she agreed softly. “No, I couldn’t. I care more than I should. Probably more than you want me to.”
  14. If you pick Kealie, just know I imagine her as black. That’s all. Also that drawing is beautiful
  15. Incredulous, she guffawed. “Riddle me this: if I gave in now, and you went in there and died, so you think I could live with myself?”
  16. “Oh. That’s… smart.” She sat back down slowly. “Do you really imagine that staying could possibly be the best thing for me?”
  17. “No!” She jumped to her feet. “No. I’m not staying. You won’t convince me.”
  18. She watched him back, mildly desperate and mildly panicked, feeling the fragility of the moment. How can I convince him? Is there any way?
  19. “Because you’re the best person I’ve ever met.” The words came easily, and she wiped a tear off her cheek.
  20. She looked around uncertainly. “I… I don’t know. I want to, so badly. I just don’t know how.” Her eyes welled up. “I’m sorry.”
  21. Haly wanted to see him smile again. She reached out and grabbed his hand. “No, TAAron. If this is a dream, it’s me who’s dreaming it.”
  22. “I…” Quietly, she said, “It’s too good to believe.”
  23. “No! No, no. It’s not like… I do, I swear. And… you do too, then? For real.” She laughed again. “I can’t believe it.”
  24. She swallowed. “I don’t believe you. Actually, I do. I think. I don’t know.” She laughed. “Ignore me. I can’t talk.”
