    She looked at him, confused. Mitis, over by the railing, clenched the pyramid closer in her fist and her eyes more tightly shut to maintain her concentration. "TAAron," Haly asked, "What is it?"

    Kealie regained consciousness. Unfortunately, everything hurt, her vision was blurry, and she had no idea where she was. "Can I just be dead now?" She groaned weakly.

    Her kingdom. Oh, well, I mean, for another three hours. So you're okay then? Where are you? Do you have transportation?

    The voice tried again a while later. My concentration broke earlier. Sorry. My name's Mitis--I'm with Haly and TAAron. They're done in Basilica, so they figured they should get the group together. And no, I'm not working with... whoever you said before.

    He hunched his shoulders, visibly biting his tongue.

    She looked over at him and smiled. ”I got a location,” Mitis announced. “I’m not getting details, but she’s definitely somewhere.”

    “Oh, nothing… well, everything. It’s not just grinning. It’s the flamboyantness. Talkativity. You know. I should probably shut up before I say something else that I regret.”

    “Like the… grinning.” He groaned. “I’m not all the way better yet, which is why I’m apologizing. An attitude shift is the side effect of commanding things like that golem.”

    Mitis moved away from Haly, forehead still furrowed in concentration. She pulled a four sided (four sides total) pyramid out of a leather bag she carried—it looked like smoke, like it shouldn’t be solid, but it was. Haly watched her with great interest.

    The boy nodded, then paled. “I did it again. I’m sorry. I get like… that… when I use my authority.”

    “Some vines threw her, right? I saw that part.” He was getting slightly less hyper as time went on. “Strange magic… what kind of strange magic?”

    “I’m good. Great, actually! Hey, is your friend okay?” A hint of concern leaked into his expression at the sight of Kealie.

    “I don’t know. Generally I get a slight sense of out-of-dimension stuff, but not just… nothing.” She frowned. “I’ll try to contact her.” A slight voice weaved in among Wynn’s thoughts. The voice was female, and about her age (if she’d been that age in reality). Are you Wynn? Edit: forgot to do this @Ranryu

    “Constraints, if you will. I command my father’s subjects, and I can also project my presence.” He was still grinning just as eagerly. “Listening in on conversations is so fun.”

    She shook her head. ”Rats,” Mitis sighed. “I won’t waste time looking for a secondary connection. Haly, give me your hand.” She did so and Mitis closed her eyes. “She’s alive,” Mitis said. “Apprehensive. She’s dealing with something. I’m not getting a location.”

    "Yep! Apparently, I'm "too free with my abilities". Dad finally caught on that I don't care! And now I can do whatever I want!"

    "Yep. If she's a friend of yours, I might even be able to talk to her, though that would expend me. A lot. Do you have something of hers? Something she held or touched recently, maybe?"

    He waved his hand, his grin widening. "Pffft. What a silly thing to think. Nope, actually, wait, you're right! I got banished yesterday."

    "Nobody special. I'm from a calmer world. Small town called _____. Nice place. A traveling mage gave me a portion of his powers and trained me, so I can do, like... soul stuff. Get a general sense for a person, sometimes a location, depending on a few factors, access memories--with permission--and, of course, tell if someone is alive or dead."

    "Not really. Just the one. I saw the demon and grabbed the golem. He didn't want to fight, but he really hadn't no choice." He quite clearly had made a habit of grinning.

    "I don't know. But Mitis can check." The blonde girl walked back onto the balcony. "Just waiting for my cue. You're TAAron?" She offered her hand to shake his. "Mitis Aurum. Nice to meet you."

    "Nope. Actually, he hates me." Th boy picked his way over to Vance, then held out his hand with a smile. "Blynx Snicker."

    "I guess we get in contact with Wynn and Lerac now."

    The boy grinned and waved. "Hey there! What's up?"
