    My phone be weird The man eyed them as they stepped out. Beosta made no move to incapacitate the man (yet). Instead, she followed him. Well, kind of. He walked behind and to the side of them, pointing directions. He moved slower than Beosta would have liked.

    The man pulled out a thick sword. “I’m perfectly capable of taking both of you, so don’t say a word.” Beosta did note his hands trembling as he reached to unlock the bars, though. “We are willing to parley,” he continued, pulling the bars open for them. “Quickly.” Beosta glanced at Shoe. She was sure she could take this dude. Probably. AHHH WTC IS GOUNG ON. Just gimme like 10 and I’ll edit this

    Shoe XD The man pulled a large sword out of a sheath at his side. “Speak a single word and you die. I promise I am perfectly capable.” His fingers trembled a little, though, Beosta noticed. “We are willing to parley,” he said, pulling the bars back to let them out. “Quickly.” Beosta glanced at Shoe. She could probably take him.

    A robust man (a local with pale white skin) wearing a rich amber robe strode down the hallway and gave them both warning stares. Beosta stepped back. There was something beyond mortal weight in that gaze.

    That’s my hope. Somebody with heavy boots clomped down the hallway. Beosta jumped up again.

    Haly followed quietly. This was a funeral, right? For her… who was he to Ave again? A brother? That didn’t quite feel right. You shoulda payed better attention.

    I guess my coworkers think chili and coleslaw or Fritos and custard is weird, because today at work J looked right at me and asked, “Girl, are you pregnant or smth??” 

    I guess I just like weird stuff.

      Maybe that’s why I like it. I never liked mayo until I realized it was the hamburger secret sauce and now I love it

      Or if I'm at a sub shop that puts mayo on unless told not to and I forget to ask for no mayo I'll still eat it

      But with coleslaw, which is like 35% something I really don't like... 

      I've had something before where instead of cabbage the "coleslaw" (it had a different name, don't remember what) had broccoli instead, and that wasn't as bad as coleslaw, but I still didn't like it

    Her smile faltered and she looked down again. It’s not important. We’ll be able to finish in time. Scuddit, she hadn’t meant to write that last part. She didn’t want him to know there was a time limit.

    “It’s purple and black!” The poor teenager degenerated into childish sobs.

    “It was black,” he sniffled. “Black and purple. It was for Becky.”

    “M-maybe,” Bad sniffled. “It was for BECKY!”

    Yeah, she lied. It wasn’t his problem. Still, her pen hovered over the page. Then she set it down and gave him a reassuring smile.

    She felt kind of cornered by that gaze somehow. We’d both be fine. Just… not bonded. Less strong. Less capable. Parts of me that are like her wouldn’t exist anymore. bye for work

    She probably could. But she didn’t think of that. She doesn’t know a lot about narration. Plus then they’d be fugitives It falls apart. And we don’t get a Familiar.

    “My flower,” he sniffled. “For Becky. Now she won’t like me.”

    No, we are. But… it’s not Sealed yet. If we want it Sealed, we have to do the CD. Before the bond faded. But that wasn’t important.

    It’s the end goal of the school. If you want a bonded animal, you study the risks and rewards of the bond and how to balance each other out. The heroic thing is to prove that we work well together.
