  1. I personally think it could be cool to have an imperfect Nullite mechanic. Honestly tho, I'd be fine if it's a little wonky and doesn't make perfect sense, as long as you're not planning on stealing anything from my baby Bat -_^ "Three.........."
  2. It was a while, but seams appeared in a door shape and a woman stepped through. She was blonde and carried a little purse that seemed quite stylish. "More?" She asked. "I thought for sure we had everyone who was free of Rebus." Bat blinked at the forwardness. "Ah, well... I... think we're the last ones?" She gave him a casual, two fingered salute. "Gotcha. Nice to meet you." The man breathed out a swear word. The girl paled. "Oh," she whispered.
  3. Wouldn't there still be particles holding the Nullite and other particles in place? Those would be vulnerable, probably only to certain Narrative commands, but say a Narrator was like "vanish". Then those would vanish and he'd basically fall apart, or the Nullite would fall out, or whatever. It just seems like it wouldn't be super practical, is all. That's just my two cents, though.
  4. "No... I've never been down here before." That sounds pretty unstable... @Dragonheir what do you think about this?
  5. Hmm. Actually, if the particles around the Nullite were packed close enough and being held up by other ones, and if they're super super tiny, that would actually work. Rebus could probably help with sizing them down using nanobots and such. ...I guess then the problem would be that it wouldn't actually help with resisting Narration because the fields would be so small... @Dragonheir? "Well, neither would we," he snapped. "Dad," Lisa sighed. She turned to him. "So... is the war over, then?" "Yeah... I've never been here," he admitted. I REMEMBER
  6. I did read some. It just really seems like it doesn’t make sense. I guess if you’re willing to make it a bit difficult to keep in balance and unstable, that would make more sense to me. That’s mostly because of the way his body is able to interact with the Nullite. It doesn’t really apply to him. Are you sure I didn’t— I coulda SWORN— “This is normal… probably…” “Where did you come from?” The father countered.
  7. Yeah… I’m really sorry, Spirit. I just don’t see how it would work at all. At the very best, it woukd be very unwieldy and difficult. That’s a super cool idea, tho. “This is normal… probably…” “Of course we know—“ the man snapped, but the girl stepped in front of him and held up her hand pleadingly. He sighed and let her speak. “I’m Lisa. This is my father.”
  8. “We’re… NOY sure.” It felt like they waited for hours before the wall in front of them— the one made of stone— bent and shifted, revealing hinges and seams into a blank, sterile room. Strangely enough, there was no Nullite in sight— nothing but a camera in the corner. Bat carefully climbed out onto the floor and then helped Tam. Not… exactly. We try to follow the established lore for the sake of continuity, because that allows for really cool things.
  9. Bat took her hand and held it tightly. A metal door slammed down behind them, blocking off escape and making Bat jump. "Well, thanks," the girl said. She sounded nice.
  10. "I'm--" "Nobody," the man growled, stepping in front of his daughter. "Who are you?"
  11. Huh. That might actually work, but it might make him vulnerable when he groups Nullite in a different part of his body. Unless he's using magic or something to push the natural dust around... Yeah, idk if that would work, honestly He shook her head. "They'll see us soon."
  12. "No problem." He smiled. Then they came to a dead end.
  13. Warmth was sucked out of his body at an alarming rate, but he found himself unable to pull away. He began to feel cold as stone, and the sensation only spread, until finally it stopped. "Hello?" Said a youthful voice behind him. She nodded and Narrated rows and rows of tiny, tiny candles in the same way she'd made the instruments sound to scale, then sent them floating in the middle of the room, arranged almost like a chandelier. Not quite. If you attempt to speak to her directly, Lady Bug will likely just modify her again. She retains a measure of control, since Symbol is her own creation. Enough to be very dangerous to her, should she wish to be. Especially since she's freed from the contract. It would be safest for Symbol if you didn't mention anything to her. Nullite nullifies all forms of magic, jsyk Not just Narration I think Xino once mentioned that Narration was the most powerful thing it could Nullify, so that probably would be uh not good for him I'm just being funny Canon Bat and non-canon Bat He pulled some out of his bag and handed them to her.
  14. His voice echoed back to him, but he came across a pair of statues. The man wore a long cloak and had piercing eyes, while the young woman, who seemed about the right age to be the man's daughter, wore a similar but more elegant cloak and a long dress. A handprint was sunken into the stone wall behind them like a perfect clay mold. "As long as it takes for my Author to stop being lazy and actually write the--" "It's just around the next bend." "Scud her." Thank you. She stood, stabilizing her disc as she did so and allowing it to float down to be level with him. Are you all right? Whatever I break I can promise to fix. I'd put it in bold, but I don't want my characters to know.
  15. @Dragonheir just making sure No, but he'll meet her while she's hosting the party soon. I'm so excited "They don't. There's a lot more tunnels than this..."
  16. The crypt was dark, the air still and stale. It was raining outside, and no light flickered. There was no candlelight. Not anymore. @Dabi That was okay. He'd already been smashed with a hammer.
  17. That was okay. He'd already been smashed with a hammer.
  18. Lady Bug smashed him with a hammer. She greeted him silently and thanked him for coming. The music paused, fading into a lesser-known tune. Almost a nostalgic one. Not for the first time, she wished she had something to remember. But maybe she did... What do you think? I'm going to add candles. Candles....... there was something there, too. Just to make things a little more clear, Lady Bug's been messing with Symbol. Symbol no longer remembers any interaction with Lady Bug beyond when she was created, and certain interactions Lady Bug has that are based on her plans for Symbol will be hidden to her. Lady Bug and I would both appreciate if that stayed secret from her. For wildly different reasons. "I agree," she muttered, folding her arms huffily.
  19. He reached back to find her hand. She came back instantly. "I will destroy you," she seethed.
  20. The tunnel kept getting smaller. Not far. We need to stop talking like this now. Surveillance is starting soon. Lady Bug growled and bonked the offending Author over the head quite painfully with a slab of wood punched full of nails. It would be very painful if the Author were there, but as it was, she probably looked rather silly.
  21. We'll be in and out. I just want a couple of the things from down there.
