    He frowned, finishing with Cricket's hands. "It looked to me like you broke through his Ennulling. That seemed kind of cool."

    "Thanks," Gaioh said, eyeing the snack table. -- All you need to know is that these children have very important people behind them. Gods. Unless they decide to let them fall, they will not fall. However, there are things about these gods we can turn to our advantage. Many of them would not turn away an opportunity to see their champions suffer. If I were you, I would renegotiate your terms with your employer. Capture them alive. Keep them together. Deliver them to your employer, completing your commitment, and let them escape him instead. I believe they're all due for a few existential crises anyway. As long as you keep them together to play off of each other, you should be able to capture them and appease the gods at the same time. "I know," Bat said. He cleaned Cricket's knuckle with alcohol and wrapped it with a bandage, then took the other one. "But that's okay. Quid pro quo. You'll get so many chances to save us back." Bat felt incredibly light. He'd broken something on purpose kinda. He'd done something important!

    Bat shoved a pill at him, and pulled out an alcohol pad. "Here, give me your hand."

    I wanted to give you a quick word of advice. Are you at all Thread-aware? ME TOO Bat dropped to his knees next to Cricket, looking for injuries. "Cricket, oh gosh, are you okay?"

    Lady Bug zoned out, too impatient to pay much attention to this matter. The phone waited patiently in Malevolence’s pocket. Bat turned red. He did very much appreciate the artful way the priest had vanished Malevolence like that, though. That has been really cool. He hurried over to Cricket. “Are you hurt at all?” @Ookla the Irreplaceable Gaioh yawned. He wondered if he could get away with stealing some snacks. *applause for the priest*

    Bat jumped back at both that and Cricket's teleportation. Wait, had it... worked? The dull pain in his chest eased. He'd broken the machine. Which was a good thing. He'd... done something useful. He lifted the gun, but he didn't want to hit Cricket. So he sighed and lowered it again.

    Bat turned red. Right. Okay. Oh, RIGHT. "I don't know how to trigger it!" he replied weakly. Now would be a great time to learn, though. He took a deep breath. If he couldn't break that machine, Cricket and Tam would die. The first real friends he'd ever had... A sinking realization settled into his gut. He was going to fail them. They were counting on him now, and he was gonna fail them. He wrapped his arms around himself, pushing those emotions further down, as if he could tie them up in little strings and hide them away forever. They pushed into the space where other things should have been, displacing something. Something that probably didn't matter. Something shifted. The machine broke.     I I UH I DONT KNOW YOU SEE, IT'S BEEN KIND OF EXHAUSTING NOW THAT XINO CAN'T SCRAPE ANUMORE IM THINKING ABOUT ASKING A BUNCH OF PEOPLE TO ASSEMBLE LIKE A TEAM TO COMPILE THE INFORMATION TO BECOME THE PODCAST IF XINO'S COOL WITH IT WE'LL SEE WHERE WE ARE AFTER THIS ONE COMES OUT ............ ok to be real it almost broke me I almost cried with relief when @Ookla the Irreplaceable agreed to help me YEAH ITLL BE SOON
