    “Maybe a little. But not all of it. You’re worth it, anyway.” - “I…” Her hands tightened into fists. “Why do you wanna know? I don’t trust you.” Aden grabbed him and gently forced him back down, pressing a button to call for a doctor. “Chill. The doors are locked. We’re trying to take care of you.”

    She yelped. “They go different directions!” Aden lay a hand on his chest to stop him. “Woah, buddy. Stay right there in that hospital bed. You are safe.” He shook his head. “It’s not your fault.” - She hugged herself tighter.

    “I know you are,” he said quickly. “I’m… I’m sorry. I just… I panic when things aren’t fixed… I’m sorry.” - She shook her head vigorously. She frowned. How was she supposed to choose? They were both so cool! “Ooh, both!”

    “No… it’s just kind of… difficult.” At least he knew she didn’t want him to think she was pretty, though. You don’t know that, some little voice told him. He just wished he knew how to help her— actually help her. Oh, frik, he was supposed to find a way to tell her about free will. He closed his eyes and tried to stop thinking about it. — She fidgeted. “No,” she whispered. “Nothing serious… lashes on my back, but that’s it.”

    This was, to her, all very confusing. "Uh... I wanna be with people..."

    “I’m… good. Mostly. I think.” — She didn’t really want to, suddenly feeling cornered. What choice did she have, though? So she did.

    Then she could be with all the people. Then she'd never be alone again! "Please? Would you?" He lay down next to her. "Me too. I don't know what's up with that guy." "Why does any dragon eat any human? They're good. It's nice to be feared. You know." He sighed. "But I left that behind me."

    "Can you turn me into a human??" He sighed. "They burned my den. I've got other scars, too, but that one's the worst of it. Maybe I deserved it, though, after all the ones I ate."

    Yeah Bat squeezed her hand and got up to check. He came back after a minute. "I don't know where Elliot got a drum set, but... everything's fine, so." - She hugged herself, but stepped inside. "Sort of," he rumbled from the cave. "Mostly."

    "I think he was trying his best..." She jumped up onto his head. "I'd do it, but I probably wouldn't work very well...." He nodded. "Okay. We'll just... sit, then." The faint sound of a straight drumbeat filtered in from the living room. - She swallowed hard and followed.

    "Ooo! Like statues? I make statues!" She frowned. "He was nice."

    "Yay!!" She beamed. "So... what kinds of things do people do?" "You need a dragon, right?"

    The dragon stiffened. "Get out."

    "It's okay." He found her hand and squeezed it. "I'll wait. Do you wanna take a nap?" His heart hurt. This was hard. - She nodded a little bit and climbed out of the vehicle. "That would be nice." The room they're in is pretty big, like a receiving hall. So yeah, plenty of room "Uh... anything!" She did a flip. "You should stay here forever!"
