    “No, you’re fine,” he assured her. “I’m not sad, I promise.” He smiled to prove it. - She nodded, clutching the blanket harder. “Is this part of it too?” She whispered. Five did. She hesitated, then lifted her hand. But she faltered, staring at him. No… Nononononono! Everything was too bright, too bright! She wrapped her half of the blanket very tightly around herself an tears leaked out of her eyes

    She nodded and hugged herself, slowly rocking back and forth.

    She looked away, tears welling up in her own eyes. After a moment, she draped half of her blanket over his shoulders, careful not to touch him. He blinked at her. “Yeah, why? I just need to… oh, finish my shortcake.” He sat down and did so. - She wiped her eyes and smiled back from under the blanket.

    He smiled at her and walked back to the kitchen, feeling like there was something he needed to finish. - She beamed. It felt so normal. ”Come on,” Aden wheedled. “Just for a seeecond?” She blinked, then shrunk a little and held the blankets tighter. “It’s okay,” she whispered. “It wasn’t your fault.”

    “Yeah,” he admitted. “You’re scarier like that than I’ll probably ever be.” - “Well, your logic is different than mine and therefore invalid.” Five laughed.

    *craned his neck Scuddit He walked into the middle of the room. - “It IS my business.” Five, on the other hand, liked it. Hearing other humans talk to each other was so strange… but sweet in a way she couldn’t quite grasp. She hugged her blanket and smiled, just a tiny bit.

    He shrugged. “You seemed to want me to.” He sighed. “That’s what I thought.” - He craned his neck to see when he heard her open it. “Ooo, what’s this one?”

    “Sure. Let’s go with that.” He started over with a more methodical search. - “As you command, Miss Ma’am.”

    He checked under the bed and the rest of the furniture. “I don’t know why I’m doing this.” - “Sorry! Fine, you interrogate her.” He smirked and turned back around to drive properly. If 90 miles an hour coukd be called “properly”.

    “I’ll bet you’re inside the lights or something.” He knocked on the mirror. Five smiled back. “So, Five,” Aden started, turning almost all the way around and only leaving one hand on the wheel (they were going 80 now), “What can you tell us about those people we saved you from?” She shrunk into her blanket.

    He began to open all the drawers. - Aden grinned back at her, then went from 0 to 60 in a very not large amount of time. Five wrapped her blanket around herself. The light here was calmer, warmer. Steady. Everything just flowed past. It was… nice. She felt herself relax. “Thanks for doing that for me,” she whispered. She frowned. “Oh. You seem fine to me. But I’m not exactly people, I guess…” AWW WAIT THAT’S KINDA CUTE

    He sighed. “You went invisible, huh?” - The tunnel was wide like a well lit highway. And there were three jeeps. Lise had always liked them, you see. Aden did too. Her eyes widened. “Oh, gosh,8 didn’t mean to embarrass you! I’m so sorry…” They all climbed into the jeep, including Ria, and off they went. Aden was driving again.

    She gave him a tiny smile. She tilted her head. “What does it mean?” HAH THATS WONDERUFL He followed, closing the door. “Hah! Got you.@ - Aden led them to a blank wall, activated something on his watch, and a door appeared. He stepped through it and beckoned the others. Okie byeeee maybe one more but we shall see
