    “I’m gonna be fine.” - Aden shook his head. “Not a bit.” “Tam.” Well… ”…being helpless,” she whispered.

    He… he probably could, actually. He was an Ennuller, right? But she didn’t need help. She didn’t need anyone! Yes I do. Because I’m not strong enough. I’m not strong enough. She nodded against his shoulder. “Okay,” she whispered.

    She sniffled. “I don’t need help,” she protested. Or… at least, she wasn’t supposed to. But she did, apparently. She was scared.

    Thanks She stiffened at first, not sure what to do. She wasn’t really used to being hugged. But it felt really nice… So she wrapped her arms around him and held on tightly, feeling tears trickle down her cheeks.

    She stared at him for a second, then dropped her gaze to the ground. “It’s getting dark,” she said softly. “And I can’t glow.”

    Ria bent down and scanned him with some handheld. What exactly is goijg on with him? “Of course.” He kinda had to be, after all. - “He started screaming,” Aden said. “I don’t know.”

    He hugged her, but carefully. - Five hardly heard her above the screams echoing in her skull. “Starlight?” Aden shook him. Ria came in, summoned by the screaming. “I’ll look him over.”

    Aden knelt next to him. “Hey, woah. What’s going on? Can I hug you or something?” “It’s okay. It’s not bad to… to want some power over things. What you’re doing and… and stuff.” Well… he hoped it wasn’t. “Can I hug you?” He asked, pushing that thought away. - “I just remember one time. A few years ago. They took me away, like you did, and there was a window there too.” They’d be coming soon… coming for her. She jumped at the scream and squeezed her eyes shut, hugging the life out of the blanket (if it had had any).

    He frowned when there was no response and cracked open the door. “Hey, you okay?” “I… I care about you. I dunno.” - She nodded.

    After a minute, Aden knocked. “Hey, can I come in?” “Well, yeah, but not really. You’re still going, and we’re all still alive. You’re still you, Tam. I don’t know who the heck I am… and… you’re kinda scary,” he admitted. - Aden nodded and headed that way. Five hugged her blanket tighter. “Yeah,” she whispered.

    Aden led them up several more flights of stairs and through a door into what looked like a nicely furnished apartment. A big, very nice apartment. There was a window comprising an entire wall, and whrn Aden flicked a switch, it took on a slight tint. “We can look out, but nobody sees in,” he explained. Five wasn’t listening. She flew over to the window and sat down by it, huddled in her blanket while she watched the sun rise over a bustling city.
