  3. She nodded. Nervous, yes, but… very excited. “Are most people… like you?” Bat woukd have done something— taken her hand, or hugged her, or… but Shoe was there and for some reason that felt too Bat-Shouldn’t-Do-That. “What she might care about, I think? Why she hasn’t destroyed everything she can already.”
  4. She edged closer to him. “Do these ever fall?” ”No,” Ria said, sensing that the “yes, occasionally but not enough that you need to worry” was a good idea. Five relaxed.
  5. “Oh yeah. Trust me, it’s a good investment. Looking powerful is everything.” The elevator came, and Five stepped in hesitantly. She still clutched the blanket.
  6. “Fancy penthouse. Whole building’s ours.” She pressed the elevator call button. Five’s eyes widened when it lit up.

  9. HIIIII CAN I HAVE PINEAPPLE
  10. She and Five followed. Ria led them through a nice hallway to an elevator. Five tried not to be amazed by everything they passed. But it was hard. DANGIT I FORGOT SCUDDIT— He frowned. “…that’s a good question.”
  11. *posts here for the first time in a billion hours*
  12. She smiled and looked down at her hands. “Let’s go, then.” He nodded thoughtfully. “I agree… I mean… how did Symbol become Corruption, anyway?”
  13. Bat shrugged. “It’s worth a try. We can think on the fly if we have to.”
  14. “I… wanna see people,” she said quietly. “If you wanna go.” “What do we know about her besides that she destroys stuff? What would convince her?” Bat frowned. “She didn’t destroy my people the second she could…”
  15. “Aw,” Beosta complained. “Okay. I’ll behave.”
  16. “Eeeeeeeh… maybe, I guess… but we need to apprehend one of their agents anyway…”
  17. “I’m taking you, then,” she declared, standing up. “I’ll find you both a change of clothes— we have stuff in your sizes, I think— and then we’ll go.” ”…it sounds scary,” Five hedged.
  18. “A place where people go shopping.” Nobody was. There was, however, a notably sized hole in the small raised platform of marble. stairs led downward Ferron landed. They all said yes. Bat looked nervous. Very nervous. “We should reason with her first,” he said. “In case Regression doesn’t make her connections die completely…” Beosta snorted. “Nah. Choose violence.” Elliot looked up from his drums. “Oh, and some cat told me to tell you to stab her, not just wave it at her.”
  19. She smiled back and continued to devour her food. Ria watched, clearly satisfied by Five’s excitement. “You guys wanna go to a mall, maybe? And buy some stuff?” Five tilted her head, confused.
  20. She paused. “I guess I feel better. Happier, I mean.”
  21. “Mine,” Beosta demanded. “It was my boots he destroyed. Plus I want a cool weapon. Uh. Please.”
  22. He narrowed his eyes and snatched the needle, then pointed it at Beosta’s other boot (despite her protests). He was quite happy when it worked. He tried it on himself and ended up looking a few years younger. He tried it on the tree and the fruit slightly unripened. He thrusted his old needle at her and ran to go try the new one, giddy with the novelty.
