  4. "Uh... yeah. Good to start." "You bet. It's probably better." "I brought you back, dunderhead." Bethany snickered. "I mean, I'll give you undying worship if you give me undying perfection in everything I do ever. Maybe."
  5. Ah... That's awful. I'm so sorry honestly counselors are scary tho like- I haven't read it ever I've considered it but I'm too busyyyy
  6. “Okay. Who, then?” “About me.” She grabbed his arm, some strange intensity in her eyes. “Please, Rebus. If you care an ounce for them or for any of us, you will leave them. “It’s funny! And I like it!” Rose stepped through. Rose waved at her. “We killed a Narrator,” Rose said proudly.
  7. “Oh. Cool.” He paused. “Prove to who? He’s not coming for us…?” “No,” she said sharply. “No. Please trust me. Don’t go near them.” She took a deep shuddering breath and buried her face in her knees. “You know she was right.” “Yeah, what happened?”
  8. He shrugged. “Okay.” She shook her head. “No. The power plant is on the middle level.”
  9. NOTHING NO HALY NO. BAD HALY. BADBADBADBADDDDDD It was still abandoned. - “Ah, right. Scare who?”
  10. I’m debating between writing a lil something or not doing that AUGH I WANT TO BUT I REALLY SHOULDNT *sigh* It was abandoned. - “What was it?”
  11. Everyone else was completely quiet. - “Okay.” He paused. “Rebus wanted something, right?”
  12. “I…” She hesitated for a long moment, then shook her head. He didn’t need her. She’d only slow him down, and she knew he knew it. Bob got in the cage without argument. the heck is a sealing building Meanwhile, Bat squeezed Tam’s hand again. “We should probly go let my parents know I’m all right…”
  13. Bob sat up. Terry cradled his broken hand. Neither one really knew what to do. “Go, then,” she said softly. “It’s okay.” The fire crept toward her. She tilted her head at it.
  14. Bob, who was barely conscious, thought something along the lines of a defeated whatever. “What are you— no!” Terry screamed. “No, Dont hurt them!” “It’s ok,” she said quietly.
  15. Five sat down on the deck and wrapped her arms around her knees, staring at the still-spreading flames. She could feel their heat. He chuckled darkly. “What does it matter? What does any of it matter?? What’s coming is worse than death. I’ll kill you. I’ll find a way.”
  16. He screamed in pain and took deep breaths to regain his composure, scowling at her. “No,” he snarled. “I’ll never be done. Never!” Gotcha
  17. Terry scrambled back to his feet and pulled out a small, hidden pistol. He pointed it at Bob, but then hesitated, growled, and shot Nullite bullets at Utility instead. Her ribs cracked. That’s what it felt like to Five, at least. Her gaze dropped to the deck, where the flames were moving toward the prow. Her mother was right.
  18. Elliot snickered and started laughing. She shook her head hard. “He cares about me,” she managed, “And you… you…” She began to sob. Terry quivered with rage. “Calm down, Terry,” Bob told him somewhat smugly. “I’d hate to see—“ He got no farther before Terry jumped at him, screaming about betraying his countrymen and being a monster, and pummeled him soundly.
  19. He growled. “We will. Someday, one of us will find a way.” ”I’d punish his family too, if it were me,” Bob said airily. Terry’s eyes widened.
  20. Terry smoldered with barely tempered rage. They’d kill that Narrator someday. He just knew it. Elliot, being kind of thick headed, didn’t think this out of the ordinary. He also hung out with Narrators. So. “It’s called a half note!”
  21. “Yup!” He stared at Utility, horrified. Then he swallowed. “I…” ”Leave them in the tunnels,” Bob said. “Let them fend for themselves.” Terry’s head whipped toward Bob with a death glare.
  22. Terry swallowed hard and glanced at the cage, which was mostly full of children. “I… I… me,” he managed. “Don’t hurt them. Please. Just punish me.” Elliot scrunched up his eyes. “Dunno,” he said, and drummed a straight beat.
