  1. I truly loved this book. Tress shows the development that people go through when life changes them. We get to see her making these decisions that are really really HARD irl. I'm glad to see it specifically called out that she planned things and waited for more information rather than being rash and brash (which is also fine, but is portrayed way more often). It was a bit distracting at first piecing out Hoid's narrative wall breaking commentary from the story narrative, but I eventually got used to it. The process of the spores and the aether is very interesting and I think the bond between the verdant and midnight spores and Tress could have been explored a bit more in relation to the zephyr, rose, and crimson spores. I mean, when she first figured it out with verdant, did she not wonder if there was a bond with all the other types?
  2. You know, my favorite character is usually whichever book I happen to currently be reading, which might be a cop out answer, but I just get so into the current world as it is happening in my head. Right now I am reading the skyward series again and M-Bot is my fav, but when I read Stormlight, Syl and Shallan reign supreme. Also a hard question since the depth and complexity is in all of them. Warbreaker and Emperor's Soul have great systems for people since they don't need to be inborn. I LOVE a good magic system that isn't some god gift to create a hero, but instead hard work and dedication (ES) and money (WB) are what 'grants' the powers. Yes I know WB has the granted gift magic as well, but I'm not referring to that. However, I think Mistborn with the use of metals that are an external energy/power source and have very defined limitations that the characters have to work around is unique and glorious and pulls me back to it.
  3. it will be exciting to get to know you, even if you start hiding.
  4. Hello World! I like long walks on the beach.... oh, wait. wrong forum. I like being wrapped up in snuggly quilts while sitting in a rocking chair in front of a big picture window with a book in my lap and a plate of snacks hiding in between the plants beside me. I get mixed results every time I take the Knights Radiant Order Quiz. And, my favorite Sanderson book is probably Warbreaker, but Emperor's Soul is right up there.
