but need to re-read some Elantris related stuff to understand what the heck Curses are - because that seemed insanely powerful; well beyond anything I can think of in any other magic system I recall. You can both adjust Hoid's mind and convert a person into a rat. What the actual heck?!

I think it's all Elantrian stuff, but because our only written accounts of Elantrian magic are from the Shaod, where Elantrian magic was practically nonexistent we're probably relatively ignorant about what its true power is. But even there we see Raoden do some really powerful stuff, like teleporting hundreds of miles. And we see the IRE make a device that can forge a Connection to a Shard. All in all Elantrian magic seems very powerful indeed

  2. During the last secret project livestream Brandon said that all 3 take place in the future of the Cosmere (with the present being approximately Stormlight 5 and Mistborn Era 2). But I think he also said that SP#4 was approximately when Era 4/Sixth of the Dusk is, so that's probably the latest, and the other two are in between now and then

  3. I mean the Rosharans do consider Cognitive Shadows essentially spren, in fact I think some of the Heralds are referred to as at least spren-like. It's just like all the magic systems are all surge binding.

Although his having seen more of the cosmere may have disabused him of that notion too.

But it also doesn't really seem like Yelig-nar. Like sure he's "in control" but like Sig can still do what he wants, and can even leave Aux behind. Plus bonding Yelig-nar seems risky at best

  4. Yeah that could be a weird kind of Feruchemy, one that can forcibly take the attribute from someone else. And the planet does have some Scadrian influence, as we see the plate with Scadrian writing on it later. Although Nomad also seems familiar with it and Scadrial so why doesn't he notice the connection between these bracers and Feruchemy?

An event appearing to be random is not the same as it actually being random. Just because we can’t explain it does not mean it cannot be explained.

There are experiments to tell if there is some hidden variable that we just can't measure or true randomness and the results of those experiments have indicated that many quantum events are just truly random

  6. Yeah Sig wasn't the most common, but I did see at least one or two people mention him as a possibility. Although I think people weren't sure where it would be if it was him

justice and mercy actually go hand in hand.

Do they? I'd argue that being just usually means not being merciful. If someone deserves punishment and you give it them, that's not mercy that's justice. If someone deserves punishment but you choose to forgo that punishment, that's merciful but not justice

The strong Intent compulsion of a Shard might not be worth the power to them - very limited freedom of action might make vast power worth a lot less.

(Assuming they knew about the Intent compulsion beforehand...)

If they even knew that there would be Shards when they shattered Adonalsium. How much would the original vessels have even known would happen after the Shattering? I imagine they thought they would get some power but Shards specifically?

A person cannot access the investiture stored by another in a normal metalmind, they can both store in the same peace of metal, there will just be a block where traits have already been stored, like cometaryorbit said.

where do we see that? I don't remember it, although if it was in a WoB then I probably would just never have heard it

I'd expect it would be like two Feruchemists storing in the same piece of metal, both charges are there but don't interact. (And probably this only works if the spike isn't already "full" of Investiture)?

Has Brandon said this could happen? I guess it would take like an unkeyed metalmind or something, cause I'm pretty sure they've said that two people can't both use the same normal metalmind
