  1. I don't think having a current shardblade will have anything to do with founding the orders of KR because of Syl's reaction to the blades. Something is flawed with the blades as we saw in Dalinar's flashback when the light seemed to go out of both the plate and blades. The "something" needs to be restored and the new KR must "build" their own way. I think Dalinar is intended to be the new overarching leader of the KR, just as Noadon (sp) was the guiding light to the knights of the past through "The Way of Kings", they need an organizing leader, not just ten different heads, but one person to look up to and rally around.
  2. No one has brought up Kaladin's expulsion from the storm in his dream. Jezrien says to him that men no longer ride on the storms / the oathpact is shattered. I think this is very significant in the discussion of highstorms because they were also a means of transportation, there are several allusions to this in the text. Can Dalinar & Kaladin restore the oathpact and begin to reclaim some of the lost magic. Dalinar is asked to form the Knights Radient again, will this restore the oathpact? Can the spren like Syl teach the new knights how to use their power once they remember enough? It has taken a long time for a "child of Honor" to show up and the bond to be formed again, what will it take to make an army of Knights Radient again? Really I have more questions than answers, but they seem to be significant questions in relation to the Highstorm and all of its implications.
  3. Might it have something to do with the things that he could sense out of his sight, those things that were hiding just outside his vision? He seems paranoid about something supernatural, it is too late in the book to be purely for character development, and there is little internal character development of him anyway.
  4. Maybe we get to find out why the Parshendi actually started the war in the first place, although that may take a lot longer to flesh out.
  5. I think Szeth and Kaladin have to meet, whether or not they fight is probably in the air. But so far Szeth is the only one who can teach Kaladin how to be who he is, so I would suspect there has to be some teaching involved. I would also suspect that Shallan will be the focus of the next book, but she will have a love interest...will it be Adolin? Will Elokar realize he can soulcast like Shallan did or will that come later or will he go crazy from seeing the symbol heads? I think these questions will have to be answered in the next book which I am dying for even though it won't come out for a while. I'm on my fourth read through of the WoK and I normally cannot read a novel more than once. Amazing book.
  6. I was thinking about this question recently. I think it may be because they might be the remnant of the Order of Stonewards from the Knights Radiant. This is purely speculation based on other speculation found elsewhere on this site a while back, but it seems to fit.
