Totally get what your saying here, but I feel like there was a live stream where Brandon was being cheeky about if the honor blades could talk to the heralds or not. All these other blades are based off of the honor blades, the spren saw what honor did with the heralds and they used the nahl bond and manifested as blades, the 5 Scholars traveled to roshar and were inspired by honor/shardblades to make night blood, vivena had some knowledge of nightblood which would potentially lead to the creation of her blade. Not a hill I'm trying to die on, but I have noticed these things and you are all the arcanists who know your stuff. I struggle with the spren coming to zeth when he was young, and with him not remembering the voice and I don't buy an unmade being the voice. Is there something spe ific you can point to that says ho or blades don't have the ability to talk or is that just based on them not doing so on screen?

I just came across this in OB chapt 92 where zeth is speaking with Nightblood. I seem to remeber some WoB's since this post was originally created, where brandon implied honor blades are conscious. I'm wondering, could this be eluding to, or foreshadowing, that an honor blade was speaking in zeths mind? As we know he practiced with them when he was young.

I started my journey into the cosmere in the final empire (mistborn) and then moved to the way of kings (stormlight) and have bounced around. They are all great for different reasons, some things in the stormlight series will have more context if you read the stand alone novels but I agree with previous posters that there is no wrong way to journey into the cosmere.

I have already listened to Brandon read part one of secret project 1, and then I might have watched the spoiler discussion on secret project 1 as well. I am so very excited for all of the secret project books I just didn't have the self control to wait!

I am super excited!! I was so concerned starting that video that something was wrong and Brandon was going to need to take aome personal time off with his family or some such and i was so pleased that it was just him being a showman and setting up for a twist. I bought the hardcover + audiobook bundle, and I am very excited to get my hands on these. It's a bummer I couldn't do the swag boxes but times being what they are gotta be smart with the funds...

I agree the parshendi wanted old gavilar dead because they feared the return of thier gods. However I wonder, it was described that one of the five heard almost a voice in the rhythms (a void spren, I cannot remember if it was ulim) that led them to buy Seth. Why did the void spren want gavilar dead? I don't remember anything that led me to believe gavilar wanted to take up the shard of odium but definitely had goals of immortality like the heralds he had met. He did seem to be hastening the advent of the everstorm and return of the fused, so why would they want him dead?

The Final Empire was my first work by Brandon Sanderson as well, and trust me it's just gonna keep getting better and better! I have re-read each of his published cosmere works 3 or 4 times now for most part (in truth ive only read Elantris once and im currently on my second read of rhythm of war). Hope you enjoy the journey as much as I have!
