During my shift at work, I was thinking about names.
There's a lot of questions around the names of the Unmade, some are named after Lovecraftian gods, but some are not. BAM is one of those Unmade.
So I propose the part of her name we don't understand isn't after the Hindu name, but rather Mithra, a Persian god.
Firstly, the name works- say Mishra, then Mithra aloud- they sound very similar no?
Secondly, and arguably more importantly, are his domains. As a god of Oaths and Covenants, it would make sense for someone named after him to live on a planet with the god of Oaths. But that one isn't as important as his domain of "Truth." Obviously, wind and truth came out recently. We know what the wind is, representing both Kaladin and the Wind, but truth just being Szeth leaves me unsatisfied. BAM was so pivotal to the book, it makes sense part of the title was named after her.
Thoughts?
