okay thank you for your help! in summary chromium feruchemy is fortune, not luck chromium fortune will allow you to sense what is about ti happen or what will happen, but not why fortune used in a large amount (multiple times tapping) will likely allow one to see into the spiritual realm and have access to almost shard like future sight usually in the form of a gut feeling (unless you refer to the point directly above) is this all correct?
-
Which would have what effect? You get to see people's connections? Actually see the future? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of atium in the long run?
-
alright thats fair. maybe tapping a ridiculous amount of fortune is silly then. maybe it gives you a better sense of whats going to happen. i know hoid has fortune thats what i based the second theory off of, so i guess that makes sense. thank you both!
-
hope you have fun here! ookla says that a lot
-
feruchemy can be drawn out in ridiculous amounts though. what happens if you use a lot of fortune at once? or is that useless
-
so to be clear its the second for my analogy? if you tap fortune then your gut tells you where to dodge? what happens if you tap an increased amount then? or a tiny amount? will it be a delay on the gut feeling or something like that? does the fortune know what you need the fortune for?
-
I know this has been posted before but I didn't get a clear answer on how it worked in the thread that I read. Chromium feruchemy is luck feruchemy. You store luck when you fill and gain luck when tapping Question: How in the world does it work! Is it cosmic luck that effects other people? For example you want to dodge a punch and the person accidentally steps on a stone and trips when trying to? Or is it more personal luck, like you have an instinctive gut feeling as for where to move to get out of the punch's way. Personally I'm leaning towards the second given that hoid uses it to instinctively know where to go (but not why he's there), but id like to know what everyone else thinks!

aw all of these are so nice! humans arent meant to be nice as you lot . i know the curse doesnt always match the boon, dont see how seeing life upside down correlates to cloth increase but i just wanted to know your thoughts. especially like @Kingsdaughter613, selfless is nice! @Honorlessi dont know if the nightwatcher could grant that, but given its a nice one theres always cultivation to help you as for myself? i think id ask for the capacity to see what my words are going to make people feel. in reality i have trouble seeing the consequences of my actions. that would help. curse whise? probably heightened emotions not unlike taravangian, though to a lesser extent and not fluctuating. assuming theyd have to balance out that seems right, so id have a hard time stopping myself anyways

with allomancy of course being the easiest to get a basic grasp of in my opinion. i apologise for getting the tension thing wrong though i would have said that the liquid was cohesion, making the grounds bonds weaken to allow formation of structures after, like the stairs. thats my head anyways, not trying to argue

i also say feruchemy. unlike allomancy all feruchemical abilities would be awesome in the real world. who needs to hide allomancy when you can store memories? be marginally faster when you can become usain bolt. whatever. if we're gonna debate worst characters or character parralels then might i suggest making a new discussion for it in RoW characters?

how dare you. kelsier is amazing. moash is a- i cant swear here so ill be civil. hes a traitorous swine
-
yeah. a finite magic system like breaths is interesting. an again, nightblood is amazing.

Hello!

Titles pretty self explanatory. Hypothetical. You visit the nightwatcher in the valley. You ask for a boon. What do you ask for? And what do you think would be a curse that balances the boon enough? Let me know your thoughts. I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours

AHHH it's not pinging me! First off @Mars DiscoI'm planning to read maybe warbreaker next. I like the breath magic a lot and nightblood is awesome. Second, even if you haven't read RoW my least favourite character is moash, followed closely by Mr suit/uncle edwarn

@Thaidakar the Ghostbloodgo ahead and DM if you want to say whatever the spoiler was. I've read RoW so it's fine

DThanks! Yeah everything Technovore said I agree with. In later books Venli will likely progress to the stonewards radiant (assuming he wasn't using tension which Im pretty sure he wasn't) level that I mentioned from dalinars vision. Since they are taking a larger interest in the heralds we may see Venli take training from the willshaper one and finally use transportation as well. I'm thinking it will be smoother than jasnahs as she seems more intuitively soulcasting, and as some radiant orders appear better at using shared surges than others, maybe we will finally have a true teleporter on our hands who can get in and out of the cognative realm at will, not search for a perpendicularity or else be stuck there

I believe- so don't take my word for it- that the second is more accurate, at least for higher ideal or masterful stonewards/willshapers. Now we see Venli using her cohesion to mould the bars of the cell someone's in (I forget who's) the urithuru occupation by the fused, but the legends of radiants changing the landscape at will and the vision dalinar had of the stone changing shape to stairs under the radiants feet I think shows that your second option is correct. Amaram when fused with that unmade in the battle of thalen field also changed the ground to essentially liquid when he fought kaladin, so I'm pretty sure I'm right on the fact that either tension or cohesion can be used with mental or verbal commands, and without the intervention of the user (using their hands to shape it etc)

While listening to an audiobook of the half blood Prince, I realised that some kinds of magic leave lasting traces. Since half my thoughts lately are cosmere based, I immediately thought of fabrials/gemstones and the fact that they can retain stormlight. If we were to cross the verses, would a wand or a charm on something like a door classify both want or charmed object as invested? Quick brain teaser for everyone

Gotcha, thanks everyone! I remember the oathbringer scene, the smoke girl yes? I forget the name. I've seen the guessing posts for side effects, never paid them much attention mainly because Im looking for facts at the moment not guesses (not to disprove them, it's fun to read of course). Only really need tin savantism side effects at the mo, which of course is the one we have! So that's useful. Thanks again! Does savantism have any other effects than spiritweb damage? Or is that all

I think kaladin needs some therapy before he can assume the mantle of God of War. He agreed with dalinar that he should stay on the sidelines for now and I feel it would be a slightly regression of his character if he decided to take it one book after. Also taravangian (spelling if off) just took odium. For kaladin to instantly take it off would deprive us of one of the best cosmere villains to date. Not to mention the reforming of honours splintered shard

Hiya! been here for a few days and am loving it! read SA and Mistborn E1 and 2 before i joined, and make an effort to think up theories that either explain things to others or ask questions i honestly dont know about. everyones nice and helpful. i myself am partially addicted to the mechanics of the cosmere and how intricate it is, brandon is awesome!
