  1. the question then becomes- as much as i love your answer- is the intent of preservation blanket or subjective. we see that he (leras at the time) wanted the final empire to continue so that he could defeat ruin (essentially his opposite intent). TLR, who had been seen as a tyrant almost for years on years, was seen as a force of good and stability by leras (all info from secret history). so, as odium is unchanging and eternal as well, and wants to preserve his own intent, and due to the fact when kelsier held the power the power rebelled because he was trying to use them to harm ruin (though admittedly vin does the same and there are no consequences until ruin starts fighting back so the vailidity is debatable), would the powers allow him to harm odium? its unknown how long it takes for a shards intent to consume a person like ati, leras and rayse did, but we know 300 years isnt enough for them to become so focused. if the 'final battle' between harmony and odium ever takes place it wont be for a while, and so i wonder if having dual opposing shards and being consumed by boths intent (hypothetically) wont render sazed even more unable to act than he is now? that said, again i would love to see your statement come true @Honorless
  2. division's use is as the main battle surge (from what we've seen and been told. id assume with skybreakers it would be for fighting non radiants or non fused, simply flying across the battlefield and skimming a hand across everyone, turning either them, their weapons, or the armour to dust/fire. again though thats not what i asked here. im wondering if its use is different like bondsmith and windrunner adhesion, or if they have a stronger version or alike. does that make sense?
  3. I'm pretty sure he didn't take a shard for himself (the one he would have taken being endowment, and the least influencing) cause he knew they'd be bound or have restrictions or something like that? Evidence from the lin: 'i chose not to and gained freedoms they'd never again possess' Or something along those lines
  4. It's confirmed trell is autonomy by process of elimination...... Though I would love it if your theory was correct, it physically can't be. Also I don't care if TOdium is not Rayse, he's still bound by the shards agreements. Odium made a promise to stay in the rosharan system didn't he?
  5. I doubt that's the case. In the RoW (may have been OB I forget) letters, Sazed mentions that he needs a 'sword' to attack with. Bleeder (shadows of self spoilers) was a bigger threat than miles and I would have thought he would have used Ruin to attack her if he could. And while I love sazed, awesome character, I doubt that one shard battle will be enough to offset the millennia of experience any vessel of odium has over him in splintering Though I would love to see harmony Vs odium at some point
  6. To damnation with that, when did you let ANYONE tell you what to do. Shard of autonomy means nothing when you bow to authority- oh my god kelsier is an anarchist
  7. I never considered this! That's an amazing idea! I could see that working cause of course we know division separates molecules, and the minute amount of air resistance would be gone. Only thing I could see wrong with this is that we have no reports of nale blitzing around the battlefield for the fused, as we know he has been there at least once. I'd imagine hypersonic flight would be quite useful Also, if this was the case, then what really would be the point of multiple lashings? If the windrunners can shape the vacuum in front of them to negate air resistance why bother allowing them to lash once twice or 3 times?
  8. thank you everyone!
  9. Question in the title: Can you use a spike on a dead body? As in if an allomancer was killed, could you grab the right spike and steal the power from their dead body? I know it is essentially ripping off a piece of the spiritweb, so it may not work. But it's an interesting question for me
  10. I believe that is the correct answer to give! Good answer mate
  11. Hello to you as well! in a moment a man will come along by the name of @Not an Ooklato ask you who youre least favourite character is. be sure to say the only correct answer
  12. I mean they don't look different enough to be classed as not male or female. Probably just cosmetic by Brandon rather than actually significant
  13. Thanks to you both!
  14. basic question. different people have different spiritwebs (unique and all). hemalurgy steals bits of the spiritweb. savants have different and somewhat warped spiritwebs in comparison to normal allomancers. if you spike a savant, do you get savant level abilities when you use that spike?
  15. No worries. I misunderstood. So in conclusion the added investure if tapped does increase the strength? Must sound like a stuck record by now
  16. can you not use it as fuel? i know the metal essentially acts as a filter for preservations power but does that really matter? all one is doing is adding a bit of preservations power by oneself, not anything raddical
  17. and cause mist is preservations pure gaseous investure, the compounding or tapping of nicrosil while burning a metal would result in a more powerful effect, thus proving my hypothesis correct or am i wrong and just sounded like an idiot there
  18. off topic, if a radiant could hold stormlight like a perfect gemstone they'd get heightenings according to you? what does happen when someone taps nircosil while burning then? nothing?
  19. thats irritating. oh well. is it safe for me to assume that im correct for now?
  20. sorry a significantly higher level of investure. as in f nircosil or BoM level. does that not have the effect of a power boost? when tapping the BoM investure again, Wax and Marisi became astronomically stronger
  21. I see. Then what is the effect of having higher investure in one's body than normal? If not a power boost then what?
  22. But from what we've seen a higher jnvesture level increases allomantic strength I thought? When marisi (spelling may be wrong) and wax held the bands of mourning and became lord ruler level allomancers, they began leaking mist-preservations gaseous form of investure. That leads me to believe that investure matters in allomantic strength Not to mention that the lord ruler was ridiculously powerful, even for a lerasium mistborn. Which leads me to believe he had a higher investure level, due to holding the power at the WoA
  23. If this has been posted before i apologise ive been looking through the mechanics of investure (specifically for allomancy) and i saw something that mentioned the term 'inate investure'. This leads me to believe that investure levels can be changed to a great degree (what are shards if not humans that have so high an investure level that they are no longer human?) looking into nicrosil compounding (apologies if i keep misspelling that word) i realised that you can create (and if not create tap the spiritual realm far more than anyone else for a certain period of time like dalinar openning a perpendicularity, but inside you for a certain period of time) investure (burning metalminds releases 10x the attribute inside of it). if a mistborn (lerasium for the sake of argument) was a nircosil ferring before hand (or got a spike for f!nircosil), they can create a ridiculous amount of investure and store it now the question. if one taps that investure, then burns a metal, are they increasing their investure levels? and by extension, correct me if im wrong, but they are now way stronger than a normal person burning a metal because they have that much investure running through them? by extension again, did the origional mistborns have a way bigger amount of investure in them than the mistborns in the final empire, and hence why they are so much stronger? sorry if these are obvious conclusions, my grasp of investure mechanics isnt as good as id like to believe

Alright thank you! Have a good one!
  25. so we know that different surges can be used different ways by different orders. for example, adhesion is used differently by bondsmiths and windrunners (with some shared abilities) the question is, as said in the title, does skybreaker division work any different to dustbringer division? we've never seen ANY skybreaker use division (the few we know being able to use it are Nales helpers, Nale himself and Szeth) and that leaves me wondering if the fact that they are skybreakers (and follow such a strict code) stops them from using the main battle surge (from what we know) or if they just dont particularly want to. lemme know what you think! i couldnt find any WoB on this or anything on the coppermind so as always i turn to you lot!
