Thaidakar the Ghostblood

I don't know if this is the right thread for this... but yeah. Alright, so I'm writing a book with a magic system that has to do with crystals. Different facets determine the strength and effect from the magic crystals. So, I've been doing research about it all and thought I should make a thread to talk about it here. I'll occasionally come on with a question about it for any people on the shard who happen to know things about these things. Here are a few things I was wondering about, how fast does the spinny thing (it's a technical term lol) have to be to facet a gemstone or crystal? Does it depend on the crystal or gemstone? Is faceting for gemstones different from crystals? Also, does anyone know about foot pedal powered gem faceting machines? 'Cause, the book I'm writing doesn't exactly have double A batteries to put into the things to make them work. Anyways, anyone got any answers or know anything about this?

Alright, I haven't been writing that much because of a bunch of craziness with my schedule and the holidays. Then there were a few unfinished ones I was working on... Here's one I worked on called "The Rogue." It's about the character Varn from the last one I posted on here, except in the universe of a book I tried to write. As I finished it, I planned to make four sequels to it. Then, realizing Varn needed to be more sympathetic as a protagonist, I decided to make it into a series of seven flash fiction. Then I was like, "wait, these are some really good ideas..." So, now, I am preparing to write a new novel. I've needed a new project... this idea of Varn in the Heromaker universe has been in my head for awhile now, but this made me realize I really needed to write it.

I loved that, Calano, I loved that. If you made it into a novel, I'd read it.

He shrugged "What's going on?" Thaidakar pulled out his phone, hearing what Lark said and started cursing, "I didn't even know there was a pillar!" He turned to TAAron, "We need to get to the pillar now"

THaidakar shrugged, "I suppose. I hadn't really gotten this far... So, what resources do you suppose we have?"

The Clinic: Calano's Office "He didn't give a reason, really... I don't know. But we'll do this. Somehow." Thaidakar nodded. Thaidakar chuckled as Lark disappeared. "Lark is quite an interesting fellow, wouldn't you say, TAAron?"

"Probably." "No, I'm not putting TAAron in charge. Calano did along with me. If Calano thinks TAAron should be in charge too, then he's in charge too." Thaidakar moved his watch down on his wrist. "While the cat is making a strike force to defeat the skeletons, Lark and Matra, I want you two to organize the people we have in the clinic and see how much fighting ability they have. Those who don't have much, take them to the most secure parts of the Clinic we have control of. The ones who can fight, organize them in strategic ranks around the lower floors we have. TAAron, I want you to council with me about our next moves, after that we'll see. You, other person," Thaidakar looked at X, "Can you help Lark and Matra?Everyone know what they have to do?" @Shadowed @xinoehp512

"Unfortunately, no."

"Good." Thaidakar sighed. "The scream... it might have been tuned so only specific people could hear it." Thaidakar ran a hand through his dark hair, "by the storms, I can't wait till this whole affair is done..."

"I don't rightly know myself. But here is what I do know," Thaidakar adjusted his glasses as he paced around the room, "Calano killed Emma. We have to hold long enough here in the clinic for Calano, Bookwyrm, Nameless, Rue and the others to return. We must hold what parts of the clinic we have. TAaron, Calano mentioned you specifically. I trust Calano. Can I trust you to do what you can for the Clinic?" His eyes glowed softly red, almost unnoticeable. "I know that I will." "There was... a scream of sorts."

He turned to TAaron, "Calano said that I am in charge, but you would also lead. We're also to get a third person to help us lead the clinic. I'm thinking Nameless when he comes back or Lark. Another thing, what do you think of our situation here in the clinic?" "Granted." "What's your name? How much do you know about fighting?" Thaidakar turned, cursing, "what the..." he looked at Lark, "can you go see what that was?"

"Hmm... how about you get TAaron here. We have things to discuss." Thaidakar turned to the cat. "Hm? Oh, how about you help guide people to the lunchroom, see if they're okay."

"Gather all the people in the clinic to the lunch room on floor 5. Lark, I'm appointing you as my Adviser and Assistant. We should make the people ready to defend."

"Defend the clinic against Kaos and his forces. Get allies and such." "Calano and Bookwyrm left find a pool of the Creator's light. Energy that we can potentially use to defeat Kaos."

THaidakar turned, "Oh, Lark... I'm not really sure either.... but we'll see! TAaron and another are supposed to help me do it. I'm thinking Nameless or you."

Calano's Office Thaidakar nodded, "alright." He felt the power he now had and smiled. "Alright, this will help counter it..." he didn't explain what "it" was. "Time to start planning for the defense..."

Clinic: Calano's Office "I accept." Thaidakar began pacing around. "I can probably get us some soulless to assist us. They'd be a great asset to our forces..."

Calano's Office "Hmm... I agree. I also propose that you should lead the expedition to the Creator's light pool. You should get the energy and come back. With the energy, we could be much more powerful than before. In your absence, you should name three people to govern the clinic."

Thaidakar followed Bookwyrm's gaze and sighed. "Nothing can be done for Emma now. We must mourn later. In the meantime... the pool of light. We need it to defeat Kaos. I propose we split up. Perhaps we should abandon the lower floors of the clinic and gather all of our allies to the top floors. We could hold them off and commence operations to be ready to defeat Kaos. Does that sound alright? I could also begin finding ways to use the forbidden powers I have access to safely." @CalanoCorvus

Calano's office "Do we have any better chances?"

Clinic: Calano's Office "I can use its power if I try hard enough... It would, it would try and make me champion to destroy the clinic and become king of all the Soulless. Fortunately, I hate the thing's guts." Thaidakar smiled weakly.

Clinic: Calano's office "Emma's dead... Kaos's prison is breaking..." Thaidakar rubbed his chin. "I... might have a way to stop Kaos. The dark god that's trying to make me its champion... it can destroy worlds. It might be able to destroy Kaos." @The Bookwyrm @CalanoCorvus

I know why someone would say the Harry Potter books are better than the Lotr books. It makes perfect sense. But the Harry Potter movies better than the LOTR ones? That's blasphemy...

Someone said that the Harry Potter books were better than Lotr and I was like "um... that's your opinion. sure." we had an argument, but it was friendly. Then... then he said the Harry Potter movies were better than the LOTR Movies. That's when we started really having an argument.
