I finished Eragon and... honestly,  (spoilers)

    Spoiler

it was a slog for a good portion of it. The writing was amateur for the most part. I was a fan of Brom, Murtagh and Solembum (not the names though XD), but the story kinda dragged. Saphira was hilarious, but like.. ehhhhhhhh.

Eragon as a character I think was fair. He was a standard fantasy farm boy protagonist. nothing special.

I want more about the Shades and the elves though.

I really did not like the last 70 or so pages of the book. I didn't like it very much. I felt like they should've leaned more into the politics side of Tronjhelm, making Eragon encounter high class. Maybe he should've had a dinner scene on par with the one in Dune

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. I loved DMC, but didn't like AWE very much. I won't ever watch the other movies. I don't want to trudge through On Stranger Tides, nor DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES! *studio c noises* Hoist the colours is permanently stuck in my head.

Anyways, I started Babel by R F Kuang, author of Poppy War (Won't read that one though). I'm liking it so far. I'm glad that it's just Eragon and not all books for me that are slogs. I'm cruising through this one, the prose is just awesome.

My sister had a party today, it being her birthday and all. I kinda just hung out in the background, reading, watching PotC, eating ice cream as an older brother does...

    How's y'all's day been?

My personal favorite was book 4 and I think everything after flashback has gone downhill. It was great for a while though!!

I liked Unlocked and Stellarlune! Unlocked saved the series for me though.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is actually pretty good. On Stranger Tides is not.
