    Guys I'm reading Daughter of the Deep rn, not finished yet, but I have an awesome idea for the ending.

    I know Rick won't do it, but I think it would set up future novels quite nicely.

    (spoilers, obv)

    Picture this, some of Ana's friends have been killed and she's feeling numb. there's a situation where Ana and the reminder of the crew attacks the Arronax crew at a base. Dev and Ana are fighting and they fall down to a platform below. As they're recovering, Ana takes Dev's Leyden gun, it's set to kill, and aims it at Dev. Dev says "You won't kill me! I'm your family! You don't want to lose everyone!" Then Ana considers, then... "HP is gone, Ester is gone, Nehlina is gone... you've killed all my family.

    "I have no brother"

    Then she shoots, killing Dev.

    We cut to an epilogue where she's getting bandaged up and Gem is talking to her frantically. Ana is feeling slight regret, but is glad that they're safe. Then they get news that LI has declared to the world the existence of alt-tech and is starting to distribute the technology for high amounts of money. 

    Aaaaaand that's where the book ends. I would loooooove it if that happens.

      I'm almost done with it and like-

      my gosh-

      I predicted so much-

      I knew Dev was alive for the whole time.

      Then when the scene where Ana shoots Dev three times in hysterics came and I was like "Hol' up- something I predicted for an ending is actually happening?"
