  1. totally am not giving you a lot of random fragments I write.

“Is the test ready to be started Herb?”

    “Yes m’lord.”

The scientists crowded together in the large room. The whitewashed walls seemed to, instead of look clean, seemed blank and absent of reason, thought Dylan Rasmonsen. It seemed to Dylan that this particular test would fail as did several other scientists in the room.

Presiding over the test was Duke Gregory of Yorkshire England. Gregory had commanded this project since its start when the idea came along from a then young scientist named John Dathlor. Dathlor was Dylan’s colleague and close friend, naturally Dathlor had brought Dylan into the project as soon as possible. Dylan had been intrigued by it, who wouldn’t? AI was something a scientist could only dream of and say, “Yes, someday a bright scientist will come up with self aware AI and it will change the world.” however Dathlor’s scientists and friends were about to make that dream a reality.

Dylan stood next to the excited Rosie Watts, his close friend, Rosie absently twirled her bright blond hair as she watched the test go forward with those enthusiastic eyes of hers. Rosie smiled when she saw Dylan draw near.

“Do you think it will work?” asked Rosie, her excitement showing through her words like a white sock showed through a pile of black ones.

Dylan grinned nervously, “I hope so, otherwise these past five years will have been for nothing.”

Rosie nodded. Beyond the sheet of thick carbon fiber glass in front of them a machine operated by five scientists in the back put together the robot. It was almost done. Suddenly a red light flared above and the alarm sounded.

“TURN THAT OFF!” shouted the duke, “no interruptions, security should go check it out.”

The security guards nodded and dashed for the door. Tall and wiry John Dathlor looked with fear at the door and then at the duke, “you want to go through with this Greg?”

The duke nodded, “yes, no matter what we must continue.”

“Fine.” Dathlor turned to the scientists operating the machines, “continue through experiment fifty-seven.”

The scientists probed the machine and it began whirring again. Dylan exchanged a worried glance with Dathlor. Dathlor gestured for Dylan to come over to him.

Dylan turned to Rosie and said, “John wants me, be right back.”

Dylan walked over to John, “you look worried, what’s wrong?”

“What’s wrong is that we are under attack,” when he saw Dylan’s look he continued, “a faction of the german government is still secretly under nazi influence. They call themselves, the Amphisbaenia, or for short the Amphi.”
