  1. Mat, Matpat. Fits his tells pretty well. And what kind of Noble would I be if I wasn't stealing money from the poor.
  2. Not really. Can't say I'm a big PM guy normally, and only slightly more so this game. But when you've got no posts and two PMs, that's a 200% PM rate (sue me, I know that's not how math works), and that's not good.
  3. So now to artificially inflate my post count to keep my ratio safe. How'd everyone do on their Tuition? Mine was quite a bit higher than I would have liked, but acceptable. Edit: Also a little bit miffed that Sart got off with a Undignified despite having twice the votes.
  4. Oh this is like my third ish read through. Can't wait for those parts though. What are your thoughts on the ending? Everyone seems to hate it, but I thought it was fine, if a little confusing.
  5. Yes, I can never remember book one's name, but yeah, it's the Black Prism.
  6. Finished Prince of Thorns, it was pretty good, though the middle and part of the end didn't quite catch me like the beginning did. I'll probably read b2 but I'm hesitant. Started Wrath of Empire, liking it and looking forward to it. Started listening to the Lightbringer Graphic Audio, pretty good, the main narrator is about average but Graphic Audio is always pretty good.
  7. Sweet sweet roleplay! He ran up the stairs, taking two at a time, panting. Cavothee ran up the stairs, then right as he got to the first landing, his hat shook and fell off. His hat fell off. His hat! Cavothee stumbled to a stop. He had to get his hat. A loud clang came from the stairs. No! The sygaldry would be damaged! He pivoted with a speed few would expect from a man of his size. He dashed down the steps as quickly as he could. Bounce clang, bounce clang, the hat fell down the stairs. Kuh clang! The hat came to a stop at the bottom of the stairs. He almost fell down the last few steps to the hat to pick it up. It was scuffled, but mostly untouched. Cavothee dusted it off, then removed the outer layer to examine the sygaldry. It was similarly battered, but nothing vital was interrupted. He carefully reattached the external shell of the hat, integral for full stylishness. He donned the hat, and, feeling nothing awry, went back up the stairs. He was much more careful the second time. The Windy Tower lived up to its name. Though Cavothee couldn't attest to its windiness, it was certainly a tall tower. After seven (how lucky) flights of stairs, he arrived at Rinth's room. Rinth would be so excited! Cavothee raised his hand up to knock on Rinth's door. He knocked and nobody answered
  8. I like that last post from Ash. Feel the Dingo comments have been inaccurate the last few times they've been used? I'll go with MozSart Sart here, partly as a CC, partly as a WitW was that vote on Mat, and partly as a Kas sheep, though that’s thankfully only a very small part. Now to just write one more roleplay before rollover.
  9. Well, the Nobles PM consists purely of emoticons (mostly ninjas), evil laughter (mostly me), and white text (mostly comparing how rich we are and how annoyed at Szeth we are). So not exactly the most threatening thing.
  10. It is probably relevant that I can pretty consistently read Kas since that Devo Alcatraz game, so he probably was more ready to believe that I was just scrambling for the TR. In a v!Kas world at least, which I find pretty likely.
  11. Yeah, just wanted to make it clear. And speaking of reduction: Cavothee snarled. Why would this sygaldry never work? Cavothee had always had a gift when it came to making runes and crafting shapes, but when it came to creativity, he was lost. He was trying to make a device that would allow the holly to sit on his head without poking him. Join Teh to Gea, he frowned. It wasn't quite enough. Well, then Teh to Gea again. Ule, no Doch would be better. Fehr for iron padding, Sah for the holly, Doch again, the Ule. Cavothee lifted the cap up, looked at it in the light, then set it on his head. He started when it didn't poke. It worked? It worked! "Yes! Hurra! Est iz furtig." He was finally done. He stood up, sliding his chair back, almost knocking it over. He slipped his little hat cover, then looked at himself in the mirror. It looked like a pretty standard fedora, though bulkier than would be typical. It looked absolutely stunning. He ran out the door of his room, then all the way out of the inn. He had to show Rinth. Cavothee ran down the street over the cobbles. He walked into the Windy Tower, running two steps at a time, but then at the first landing, his hat slipped off.
  12. Sorry Kas! Was scrambling to figure out a vote and you were basically the only name to come to mind /shrug. Don't actually particularly suspect you.
  13. VC? Suppose I'll vote Kas. I'll almost certainly change it in a bit but rollover might be coming up so I want to get the Tuition Reduction in.
  14. I'll do anything if given a sufficient monetary incentive. Plus the last two times I've broken my voting meta, I've been village. Almost certainly, mostly in games where I'm forced to vote.
  15. Oh, madness holds no fear for me. Madness waits for some. It creeps up on others. But me? I creep up on madness and slit its throat while its looking the other way.
  16. I don't think I bribed my Master enough, he didn't elevate me. I almost @ ed JNV to ask where he was elevated in, then I realized that he can't talk. I think the writeup implies Naming, but no idea if that's accurate or not.
  17. So here's my logic here. A lot of people don't understand this in real life even, but money saved is equal to money earned. If I have a necessary bill of ten talents every months, and I reduce it to just 1.4 every month (which I will right around, a lot of the time even more), I have saved basically 8.6 talents, which is the same as just getting a bag of 8.6 talents out of thin air. That's more than what half the people get in a stipend I think, and for what, a few hundred words of roleplay, some PMing and filing EP. Tuition should only be difficult if you let it be.
  18. That is communism. Practical communism at least. Wealthy dude says give me your stuff, then I'll give it back. But who says I'm wealthy? Maybe I'm one of those nobles who's fallen on hard times. Maybe I'm like Sim, a paper duke to a tin king. Technically most theories say Kvothe himself is half-noble, so maybe I'm secretly an Edemah Ruh.
  19. You get half a talent for posting once, half a talent for each 200+ word roleplay, then 3/10s of a talent for both voting and PMing. There's other stuff, but I'm not too concerned with it.
  20. The former is a joke about him being a noble, the latter is a joke about confirmed good not being confirmed right, and how I mildly trust him. There's really no connection. And don't forget, if you want me to vote somewhere else, just outbid everyone else.
  21. Archer. Drake. Confirmed good = confirmed correct, so therefore probably good =probably right. Right? This is mostly just cause I need to vote and won't risk voting myself. I am selling both of my votes at auction. In the future, this may decrease to only one vote, but for now, Let the Auction Begin!
