  1. ... There is a ⅓ chance (give or take) that we're in a standard SE game. That standard SE game has the most elims. The elims in a standard SE game are weighted towards Basement explorers. Therefore, people who explored the basement are more likely to be Elim than anyone else. By similar logic, people who explored the ground floor are least likely to be elims. It's far from certain in all cases, but statistically relevant.
  2. If people truthfully claimed where they explored, there are some people who are more likely to be e! Than others. Namely those who explored the Basement. I don’t really expect people to be entirely truthful on this front (I'm certainly not), but it’s a reasonable method.
  3. Hey! I asked who wants to die, I didn't say I want to die. And I'm tapped out for roleplay. Not sure about the instant double up, but I'll forgive it cause Lego seems to be going low effort.
  4. When Keisser returned from the basement, he seemed to have aged ten years. A scraggly beard had sprouted. It was discolored by the same dried blood that flaked the rest of his body. He smiled, the teeth that weren't missing were stained yellow. "Who would like to die today?"
  5. Keisser strolled through the door as everyone started to disperse. He looked around the abandoned house, nodding to himself. "Howdy folks! How're all y’all doing? What's this about a butler?
  6. ...Friday the Thirteenth? I think every can agree that is the perfect time to start this game. (And almost Midnight too)
  7. Just read a quote from Children of Dune that kinda hit me. No spoilers except for a look into the general philosophy of the books.

"Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in in the interests of the ruling class—whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or entrenched bureaucracy."

Is it true? I kinda think so. Is that scary? Definitely. Is there a better option? Who knows.

PS, if any teacher tries to tell me And and But shouldn't start sentences again, I am showing them Frank Herbet.

  8. Somehow still the first to sign up. I'll be Keisser, a former military man who has a tendency to arrive late to things.
  9. MR70 - Aftermath Death slashed the golem with his scythe, bringing an end to those who opposed the Secreta. Soon, the whole city would be one big secret society. ~ Araris Valerian has died! He was a Golem Citizen of Ankh-Morpork! Aeternum was attacked but survived! Votecount: Araris Valerian (3): Coffeecat, Ashbringer Coffeecat (2): Araris Valerian, Lego Mistborn, Aeternum I ended the game a little bit early because the Secreta had a vote majority at parity. So, yeah, congratulations to @Coffeecat and @Ashbringer for winning. GM thoughts to come later, though they're not very complex. Documents: Players:

  13. Cycle One: The Calm Before the Storm Death reclined his chair. He, well, he didn't sigh, but close enough. The flames within his eyesockets dimmed. Just a brief nap... he was going to need to be alert for this next rush. ~ Some Things to Note: PMs are closed! You must use an action to open them. Ties will kill all players involved. 14. @Aeternum, @Coffeecat, @xinoehp512, @Ashbringer, @Araris Valerian, and @RoyalBeeMage Some important announcements. Rollover will be at 12:00 PM Central Time (GMT-5 in case you live in that fictional place we call "Not Murica") @CadCom will be your IM, and @Aeoryi will be my Co-GM. In the unlikely scenario where you try to kill me (looking at Drake who isn’t playing, but shouldn't be trusted regardless), they will be my meat shields. While I would like more players, I am planning on just running this with this player count. But, like, ask your friends? Ankh-Morpork is supposed to be crowded.
  15. Trust no one, and your trust will never be betrayed. Trust everyone, and you might just be Outha Airs-Locke. ~ Ow, why did his back hurt all of a sudden? HELLO OUTHA. Lilo jumped, then frowned at the voice. Only his mother called him Outha since he had joined the Secreta. They had given him his new name upon joining, and he liked it. It was just about the only thing he liked about his time with the Secreta. Sure, the mystique had been fun at first. Skulking around at night, doing pompous ceremonies in candlelit rooms, it had an appeal. But he was done with the Secreta. He had told the Most Secret that he was leaving just a little bit ago. Who would call him Outha? Surely not a Secreta trying to get him to cone back. "Who're you?" He asked, feeling brave in his defiance. I AM DEATH. "Death?! What? How? I'm not dead!" He protested. I ASSURE YOU THAT YOU ARE. "But how?" THE SECRETA DO NOT TAKE KINDLY TO DISLOYALTY. "I never should have left, Lilo said mournfully. I DOUBT IT WOULD HAVE MADE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE. I FEAR I'M GOING TO HAVE A BUSY NEXT FEW DAYS. ~ Welcome to MR70 - Ankh You! This game is going to be set in the Discworld universe, with all the wackiness that entails. Writeups will be relatively light (probably never longer than the above), but I will be accepting death roleplays if you feel inclined to make them longer. If you want some Co-GMing experience, shoot me a PM, but I'm not really desperate this game. You can find the rules here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dt_HkWXwAoGXHgBAeAUtLrzbQIPhvutik6DvCzh7OVI/edit?usp=drivesdk In doc format (note that they're intentionally weirdly formatted, there's links to the sections in an ordinary order at the top) Alternatively, you can find them within the forum in the spoiler below. MR70 - Ankh You! Participants: Sign-ups will close a little over a week from today on Saturday the 17th of August. Rollover is very TBD but think morning-time in North America. Quick Links
  16. Been a little while since I checked in, but I've been busy the last couple of weeks. Finished the Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer in mid July. Also re-read tEotW, which was surprisingly fun. I then took a little bit of a break, but in just a couple days I read Gideon the Ninth (forgot the author). Aside from the humor it wasn't really my style, but I still really enjoyed it. Looking forward to later books in the series. I read Will of the Many by James Islington in a single day. That was an amazing book, I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the sequel. It's really cool to see his writing skills of the course his four books. Going from mediocre but fun, to one of the best endings to a series I've seen, to an amazing hook to a new world with an incredible magic system. Now onto Children of Dune. It's a bit of a downer after the other two, but I'm hopeful. I got some spoilers for God-emperor of Dune, and I'm really excited. After that, I've got Over Your Dead Body by Dan Wells. Should be fun, I really enjoy the John Cleaver books.
