  1. I'm guesing the intent when creating the weapon will be the key componaent to creating something like the honor blades rather than the daggers that the fused used (I believe they are made of raysium). Whether that invloves a Command or something similar we have not yet seen. Nightblood is a heavily invested blade that shares a lot of properties with the shardblades and honorblades but does not provide any abilities to the user. This might be due to a more limited Connection between the user and the blade? Also, if the honor blades are pure tanavastium will the surges for the radiant orders more closely associated with cultivation express differently to how the radiants get them? We have seen that windrunners surges and the honorblades surges are the same but they are both closely related to honor. I'm thinking about how Renarin's use of illumination is very different to normal truthwatchers.
  2. Were the honor blades made soley by honor or was cultivation involved as well? I'm sure I've read somewhere that the shardblades associated with the radiants are a mixture of cultivations and honors investiture with the mix depending on which order they are in. The honor blades might be similar. What would be interesting is if someone made new blades with a mix of odium, cultivation and honors investiture and would they grant the same powers as the enlightened spren.
  3. So hoid has stated that to become an elatrian you need to be invited and that an elantrian is able to do this. If that is the case what is doing the inviting during the elantris book. There are no elantrians able to do the invite. I think it has been said that the land itself is becoming slightly aware due to the amount of investiture which focused by the city itself being an aon could be the cause.
  4. What if silver disperses investiture? The limitation might that it's effect is easily block by other materials. As far as I can remember all the uses of silver we have seen have required it to be uncovered. So it wouldn't work well on people as they act as a container but shades or the spores are more easily disrupted as they have little to no physical substance.
  5. Scadrial seem to have access to the most powerful explosives currently along with the means to deliver them long range. Not to mention the use of allomamantic grenades. You could slow bubble grenades to make nigh impassible choke points or disable groups of radiants.
  6. So we have seen that burning lerasium connects the user to preservation and provides mistborn abilities. A spike of trellium allowed Wax to communicate directly with Autonomy's current avatar on Scadrial presumably through a form of connection. (side note: this sort of thing might be used for long range communication at some point) My theory is that burning a god metal will provide a permanent connection to the relevant shard although how this manifests will likely vary. Atium so far seems not to follow this rule however I believe it has been confirmed that era 1 atium is not pure ruin investiture but an alloy which could be why this does not occur.
  7. After reading lost metal I have a slight alteration to my theory in that the both the speed and slow bubles would need to be duralumin enhanced. At the end of the book we see that wayne has a speed bubble so fast that he can no longer see outside which implies to me that within his speed bubble he is now moving faster than light outside the bubble. So if you have a speed bubble affecting the overall ship and engines at that speed counteracted by a slow bubble in the crew areas you have FTL! EDIT: Also for a deflector a giant enhanced steel bubble
  8. I was really wondering why Wax never questioned why he would be given different metal vials. I'm suprised he did not immediately ask harmony what was special about those vials.
  9. Considering everyone on an airship crew would need a medallion and their airships don't seem that rare in southern scadrial. My guess is that the limit is more to do with the number of metalborn available to create them. In the event of an interplanetary war I think they might be more willing to work with the northerners. Also it occurs to me that they have cannons, artillary and are not far off rocketry which the Rosharans don't really have an effective means to counter.
  10. Yeah, the scadrial team were definitely pretty different to Mraize's group. I do wonder if they are more circumspect in their operations due to Kell seeing the people of Scadrial as his people.
  11. I am not sure how well shardplate would hold up against semi-automatic rifle fire. In additon people with weight medallions shooting the heavy guns that wax has been using would be pretty devastating.
  12. Sazed did lie to Kelsier early on when he was asking about getting his body back, Sazed just seems to be getting better at it as Kelsier didn't notice this time.
  13. I'm guessing the background investiture fields would be like the light on Taldain? The awakened locked were a new thing. The fact that it can tell whether the password has been given willingly is a step up from the complexity we have seen before.
  14. I found that a very interisting nugget. Would it just be a matter of sticking a spike in a pool of investiture with the correct intent to invest the spike and then performing an as yet undiscovered process to key it to a particular ability? Would this power be able to be harvested from a perpendicularity? I am also curious what was meant by purified Dor. Is it Dor striped of connection and intent? I have a feeling Kelsier may have sent agents to "aquire" the technique or the reserves from the Ire.
  15. I thought that it was part of their small scale tests for the explosive and that they just made use of it to help sell their hoax. Althought thinking about it I am not sure the timelines would have matched up for the start of their hoax as that started 4 years before but the harmonium experiments must have been 4 years.
  16. So Harmony is slowly becoming discord due to the imbalance between ruin and preservation. That sounds like it could cause a little trouble down the line. Also the idea of spikes created using just invesiture rather than taking it from people will change things a lot. They mentioned that it would could be keyed to specific powers but could it be keyed to more than allomancy/feruchemy?
  17. Has there been anywhere that the allomatic grenade has been moved after it set up a bubble? I'm guessing it would function like someone creating a bubble normally, in that it doesnt move the bubble and the bubble collapses if the grenade leaves.
  18. The key would be shaping the speed bubble to be smaller than the slow bubble so you have a shell of slow time around the user in normal time. Not sure it would be that useful most of the time but I can see it having some niche uses for a mistborn This is pretty much what I mean except that both bubbles are anchored to the ship (I think there have been WoB's where he has said bubbles get anchored to a large object, which would make sense for them to work at all). So in the centre you have the crew area in a slow bubble with a speed bubble exetended beyond it to encompass whatever propusion method they use and a sliver of space around the ship. Within the slow bubble it cancels out the speed bubble effects so you have normal time in the crew area but the ship itself will be travelling faster due to the shell of faster time.
  19. In the preview chapters we see a slow bubble being made using the allomantic grenade and then a speed bubble used to selectively speed up what is happening inside in a smaller area. Would a full mistborn be able to use this to create a shell of slow time with them being unaffected? Also could the reverse of this be how FTL is created with allomancy? You create a shell of faster time outside the ship so that in the space the ship travels through the speed of light is faster relative to the ship.
  20. I don't think that the plants growing is neccessarily significant in terms of a shards power. In the past we have seen a planet being moved and reshaped using a small fraction of a shards power. It could be a splinter of autonomy given that we have already seen examples of them investing a star.
  21. I was thinking that Aux was a cognitive shadow of an old knight radiant that has bonded to Sigzil.
  22. The heralds prior to honors death were fueled directly by honor, this would be unlikely to involve a perpendicularity as it would be a bit wierd for one to follow each of the heralds around! I'm guessing this would be similar to how vin fueled elends alomancy in mistborn, it just required a connection. As there is no one currently holding honor's power then could a connection be made directly to it?
  23. Could a bondsmith directly connect a fabrial, lashing, lightweaving etc. to the spirtual realm so it has access to unlimited stormlight? Similar to how the heralds use to be powered directly by honor.
  24. Has it come up anywhere if singers could detect allomatic pulses? I'm guessing they can't as I imagine it's similar to what the screamers are doing in oathbringer. Unless it just takes training/intent for the singers, i can imagine odium preventing this to make them more reliant on him.
  25. With regard to the creation of anti-investiture I think it would depend on whether the copper cloud is supressing the pulses from investiture usage or creating interference. I think I remember reading that a seeker in a copper cloud can still hear pulses from outside the coppercloud
