  1. VOICES OF FEELINGS CHAPTER 3

A grinding halt. I just forgot the most important people. I forgot. I forgot my parents. My family. The lower district was burning with hyperfluid, which spilled out chaotic monsters. My parents. They were there. I forced myself to turn and watch as the city exploded in pink monsters. Massive otherworldly tears started erupting from the jagged skyscrapers, consuming the channelpost in a haze of purple. The entire city was brought to its knees by this dark purple rift. The monsters, their pulsing forms, kept on crawling even through the destructive void.

Then the monsters came. Pointed black humanoid skeletons, charred by the rift, emerged, with a pulsating glow around them. They swung at the remaining survivors of this catastrophe. I knew that if I tried to save them, I would only end up dying. The sky turned desaturated, the sun turned grey, and it was then when I realized just how many skeletal beings there were.

Hundreds of them. They frenzied out of their purple portal, and attacked anything that moved. There was so many of them. Too many. Just by looking at their reckless strikes, you could already tell how strong they were.

Flowing red power writhed in anticipation. I hadn't thought about it, but the power, if it could cut through hypersteel, it could probably cut through the enemies. I sent it at the skeletal beings, out of venagance, but it did not respond. What was it doing?

It was doing something, that was for sure. It was almost, almost speaking. It sounded like words, but it formed a song. A song of hope. The song's powerful tone rang throughout the entire battlefield, the site of the massacre, and reached the ears of the beings, the black-boned and the four legged, and struck them.

The song's effect caused the bones to vanish. That's what it looked like at first. Each one, it disintegrated, collapsing inward on itself in violent violet flashes. The screams from each one were painfully high pitched. They emitted a shriek before they died, one that was unmistakably human. A finality, finally descending on the cursed chaos that was going on in there.

The song's melody finally stopped, and I gazed at my red power that could sing. The rift had started to close, and eventually closed on itself. The hyperfluid, however, remained, and spat out hyperliquid spiders. I reached, almost beggingly, for the red power.

    'No help left'

Was the response I recieved, directly from the annoyingly sentient velvet liquidlike power.

I couldn't save everyone. I turned away from the spiders, and started heading north.

    Northernmast could explain this.
