You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Flyingbooks replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When lightsabers seem like cheap knockoff shardblades to you. (They can both cut through anything except for each other and another special material, except lightsabers take a while to cut through thick metal doors. Both are "summoned," except you need to keep the hilt of the lightsaber on you to summon it, while you can always summon a shardblade.) -
Oh, my heart, it aches for Hoid!

Roshar does have pig milk, so they might use that to make butter. -
@Straw Could I please have a vote count?

I'd like to point out that it didn't seem like TJ was certain that I was an elim. His vote seemed more like it was meant to force me to answer some questions about suspicions he had about me, which I did. He didn't reply to the thread after I replied, so he might simply not have had a chance to remove his vote. Now, this doesn't mean that TJ is definitely village, but it does decrease the number of reasons that you have to suspect him. Also, he's claimed Feruchemist (with vote changes that seem to reflect that) and somebody (I forget who at the moment and I can't find the post, I'll edit this post to say who if I find it) said that it was unlikely that there was an elim feruchemist because it would be too unbalanced, so I'm pretty certain that he's village.

That makes sense.

If you can so easily decide on a person to vote for, then why did you say that you "couldn't decide on a target" for your Mistborn kill? This is a bit suspicious and inconsistent, so I want an explanation.
-
It seems like the elims might have thought so too.
-
I said "relatively early" since none of the elims have been killed yet and there are still living hemalurgists.
-
I guess I'll vote for Ashbringer, at least for now, since I don't want to die relatively early into my first game. (sorry to Ashbringer if you're a villager)

That's just me being me. I'm usually pretty quiet in conversations (especially with people who I don't know very well) until I have something to say, when I talk a lot all at once. I know that this is my first game here so you can't compare how I act when I'm an elim vs. when I'm a villager, so you'll just have to trust that this is just my normal speech pattern. It's a result of me being shy & awkward & nervous but occasionally having an idea for lots of things to say & getting over my feelings of awkwardness. By the way, I'm gender-neutral and I prefer they/them pronouns. I don't really have any suspicions to share because I had some tests and a big essay that I needed to work on for school this weekend, so I haven't been reading the thread very thoroughly.

I have a big essay due tomorrow, so I don't really have time to participate.

What do you mean by Kinetic Investiture? Is that just Investiture that is used specifically to make things move?

There are actually 7 votes on Turtle and 6 on Reading, so I think that a Feruchemist must have switched somebody's vote from Turtle to Reading.

(I meant to put Illwei's post asking me what in Experience's analysis I agreed with here, but it got deleted when I copied and pasted my post while moving between pages) Now that Experience has gathered up an analysis of all of the day one posts, taking votes on and off of Mist seems weird and a pretty suspicious. Claiming as a Hemalurgist could indicate an eliminator trying to stay alive longer or a villager trying to stay alive a little bit longer (and maybe get protected at night), so it doesn't really help on its own. I admit that the post does lean a little bit village (I think) because Turtle doesn't just claim Hemalurgist, but also gives some description of their suspicions towards other people on the doc. However, seeing the description of the PM raises my suspicions of Turtle because of the contradictions that Illwei mentioned above (thinking that Illwei is a hemalurgist but not giving doc specifics, even though Illwei being a hemalurgist would mean that they had access to the doc. It's a new-player thing. I don't know how people acted in past games where they were elims vs. when they were villagers and I don't know how an eliminator would vote as opposed to a villager, but I can look at people's reasoning and see if it seems reasonable. Also, since as I mentioned, I don't really know how to analyze people's posts, the main way that I can help to find the eliminators is through voting. Even though there is a risk of killing a villager, voting on people who I am more suspicious of is better than not voting at all and having there be a risk that people who I think are less suspicious get voted out instead.

I guess I'll vote turtle too, because Experience's analysis seems good. I'm new to this though so my judgement of how good it is isn't worth much. Does anybody who's more experienced have any tips on how to analyze people's posts to try to figure out their alignment?

Books seems good. (edit: also, books are good)

Not yet.

That makes sense. Sure!

What are Shardbuddies?

I haven't had much time to read this because I have lots of homework and I don't know how to analyze people's speech patterns, voting patterns, or how people act when they're elims or villagers. The arguments for Elandera being an elim seem pretty good though, so I guess I'll vote Elandera.

When you think of Tien when finding the binormal vector to a vector-valued function (the binormal vector is found by crossing the tangent (T) and normal (N) vectors. TxN ... TN ... Tien) -
I'm new to Sanderson Elimination, so I'm probably mostly going to see how things work, at least at first. Also, what is a poke vote?

The first person to discover instant noodles would probably be some random Scadrian cook, but the first person to eat instant noodles would definitely be Lift. Hoid would be just about the take his first bite of instant noodles when Lift just slides on past and takes it.

Do the Singers have perfect pitch?
Flyingbooks replied to Silverblade5's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The "pure notes" quote probably refers to being able to attune to the Rhythms, so it doesn't automatically mean that the Singers have perfect pitch. However, I think it is likely because they're able to copy the Rhythms precisely and because it seems to fit thematically.- 1 reply

Hello. I'm new here. I've read every published cosmere book, White Sand (the prose version), The Rithmatist, and both Skyward books, and I'm excited for Rhythm of War. I've recently been obsessing over the Cosmere and reading random WOBs.
