    But Ignorance I don't see.

While Indifference is "I knew this awful thing was happening but I choose to ignore it and now I feel bad about it, Ignorance would be something like "This awful thing was happening before my eyes, and I could have done something about it but I didn't knew, and I feel about it".

I think it could definately be aplied to all of them.

Now for the other 2 I'll admit I'm have trouble, canabalism is the one that really bounces in my head, but a second one is kind out there.

Alternatively you could have 9 relationships, like how a self perpetuation cycle of recommitance could be one, attacking others who commit the same sin could be another and so on. That might give you more wiggle room.

I have this other list with 9 sins, what do you think about it?

    1. Envy
    2. Wrath
    3. Selfishness
    4. Avarice
    5. Indifference
    6. Lust
    7. Cowardice
    8. Ignorance
    9. Radicalism

I made it defining Sin as the different roots of someone's remorse.

This is the same as in the Cosmere.

    Now, you want nine groups?

Well we can start with the seven deadly sins

    1. Greed
    2. Gluttony
    3. Wrath
    4. Lust
    5. Envy
    6. Pride
    7. Sloth

And then we only need to add two to that.

I'm using the basics of the Cosmere to build my own magic systems, I don't like some of them are similar, but I'm trying to be original.

Now, 9 is an important number for this magic system (all the others also have a number) and I'm building around that.

I liked the idea someone give me earlier:

"I think the simplest dividing line for separating sins is by what type of sin caused the initiation. the sin they committed to become an initiate becomes their category for what powers they get. the individual power should be reflected by the sin so they are constantly reminded of what they did whenever they use that power, causing further trauma, self loathing, guilt, and causing the crack in their soul to widen and allow even more impurities in.

for the sin of inaction in the face of tragedy they might make themselves ethereal, both untouchable and invisible yet still capable of seeing and hearing their corporeal surroundings. every time they slip into the ethereal they are reminded of how powerless they are, how little they can affect the world, and how the only thing they can do is avoid what matters."

Do you think this could be applied to the basic 7?

  4. Okay, I’m building this magic system called Corruption, but I have problems to define powers for its users. I want to use the idea of Sin to divide them in 9 different groups. What could I do?

    Corruption

Corruption is the magic of bad feelings. Those who can access this magic are called Plagues

    Initiation

For a person to become a Plague, first they need to be broken, this happens through physical or mental trauma, this cracks the soul of the person and allows an Impurity to get inside the person’s soul. For an Impurity to get inside of a person, that person must commit a Sin, an action for they cannot forgive themselves, starting to see themselves as monsters.

Those who don’t feel remorse or pain for their actions cannot access this magic. The same can be said of those who can kill someone believing it’s right.

It’s curious how animals in their limited reasoning can become Plagues too.

    Impurities

Some call them demons, shadows, malevolence. Impurities are born from the collective pain of humankind, and they are attracted by the negative emotions of a person. Impurities work in a parasitic way, they feed upon the soul of their guests, causing at the same time Plagues a need for blood, to avoid Impurities feed upon their souls.

    Mechanics

The more they use their magic, the thirst of blood increases. If they don’t drink blood, eventually the Impurity will consume their whole soul.

This magic changes their body to pair it with the mental image they have of themselves, so they end up becoming literal monsters.

  5. @Quantus

In fact, I’m using the basis of Sanderson, for a magic system that would work in the Cosmere, but is my own creation (although it wouldn’t work cause I added some things, but the basis is practically the same). So, I have a SpiritualWeb, but in my setting is called Anima, and is divided in parts (which this system have names for, like the chackras, I don’t know yet how to use them or how affects the magic), and it’s damaged through trauma.

Exactly, the last threshold is the threshold of death. I’m thinking in not exactly makes you immortal (but may be a way to exploit it to make you immortal), lt gives you a second air until you finish your business, once you’re satisfied with what you achieved, you’re free to die (but of course this is something nobody or almost nobody knows, and you can count the number of people who has crossed this threshold with the fingers of one hand, in all the story of mankind).

I don’t think I would have something like Hadouken or Kamehameha, and if I would, I think will be something more subtle.

I don’t know the limits for each threshold yet, but If I would choose something, it would be like Surgebinding, you advance through thresholds, you get more specialized, so the use of Ki gets harder. Like the Stormlight, you can do some raw things that’s inside of the of the sphere of your Surges, but while you advance through Oaths, you can do refined things. Like the three lashes of Windrunners.

And the focus in this magic would be training. Once you can use your Ki, you can use it for minor effects, and it’s the same for everyone, but when you start to train this use and focusing in some way, you start to learn how to use it for one purpose or other. The thresholds gives you control over the Ki (and some power boost), so in low levels it’s difficult to control, and not always work the way you want, when you cross a threshold is easier to use.

So as the focus is the training, In-universe are different schools that train people in a specific use of the Ki.

But I need more rules about what the Ki can and can’t do. The rule of Ki can be transferred through organic objects, but can’t go through inorganic objects has some nice mechanics as a result like: you can train to cure, or you can train to destroy inorganic objects, or you can craft weapons of wood and charge them with Ki, or if this would be in the Cosmere someone who can cover their body with Ki would be immune to Shardblades (thought the hit still would do high, is a hit with a metal weapon, so you still need some armor).

Also, I’m sick of elemetal magic, so I want to avoid that in this magic. Or if I would incorporate it I want it to be sufficiently different.

Now, I need to clarify something, this is just a draft and probably it won’t be the final magic system. The basic of the basic is the philosophy “you can overcome everything with your own power”, everything else is just an idea and I’m not married to anything yet.

I choose Ki, because Japan has a similar culture based in not giving up, which in their stories gets the magic of Chackra, Ki, Nen, Hamon, and similar things. The thresholds is just an idea I had to order things a little. But nothing of this is final.

I had other ideas like the focus being mudras, each mudra had a basic effect on Ki, and their combination is what defines one effect or other.

  6. @Quantus
Actually, the idea of thresholds are different from chackras.

The philosophy behind this magic system is “you are capable to overcome the problems with your own power”. The thresholds born of the idea of “limits”, what does limit you to be better? Or what does limit you to get what you want? So the thresholds are moments of great stress in the life of every individual that may be mortal or highly harmful (physically or mentally) if the person isn’t prepared.

The threshold of birth is the very first challenge all living things face. You’re fighting for your right to live. When you overcome, the Ki just keeps you alive.

The threshold of fear is that fear that in danger times and freezes you. When you overcome, the Ki inside you “awakens” and gives you a brief boost to your physical and mental skills.

That is the basic idea, with superior thresholds giving you, I don’t know, more control, new characteristics to your Ki, new capabilities and new restrictions.

I’d like the Ki serves to a lot of purposes, but you need to train what you want to do. So, In-universe there are lots of schools that have specialized training to form a person in a specific use of Ki.

  7. Hey. As the title say,  I’m building a magic system based on the concept of Ki, but I don’t want it to be like the ones in DB, Naruto, and the others. I know HxH has a better system and I’m already reading it for references, but still I want to ask you if someone has some idea to help me shape it.

I like the idea of JJBA, where Hamon can be transferred through organic matter but can destroy inorganic objects. I’m searching for ideas of the sort.

My own idea is to organize it like a hierarchical system: There are thresholds, when you go through a threshold you are more powerful, have better control of your spiritual energy, and you can do more things with it. Of course, you need physical and mental training to be able to go throught it.

    -Threshold of birth
    -Threshold of fear
    -Threshold of pain
    -Threshold of suffering
    -Threshold of pain

  8. Helou, everybody. Greetings from México.

In my previous post I told you that I'm writing 14 magic systems for the world of Anima Beyond Fantasy, because I want to write some stories set in this world, but the magic of Anima it's made to play and not for storytelling. So I want to ask you for some brainstorming that help me to do some Brandon Sanderson inspired magic systems.

Why 14? Because in this world there are 14 entities we can call "gods": The Beryls, Daughters of the Light; and Shajads, Lords of Darkness. I will give you some lore.

We have another two entities, the Yin-Yang of this world: C'iel, Lady of the Light; and Gaira, the Dark Lord (one isn't good, and the other isn't evil).

C'iel is associated with light, the element that represents man's most positive emotions, such as love, happiness and hope. It's philosophical principle is the pursuit of equality for al Gaïa's peoples, in the hopes that one day, order and prosperity will be achieved. Nevertheless, C'iel has a negative face too, and at times it does approve of measures that almost betray the very ideals she stands for.

Gaira is associated with darkness and many of man's most torturous behaviors and feelings. It's ideology stands for Gaïa's evolution, developement and stability, even if he path to achieving is a terrible one. Pain, sorrow, even hatred and strife are only nuances that need to be overcome to reach progress and finally, happiness. From its standpoint, the most powerful individuals must become leaders for the rest. The strong rule over the weak and protect them.

We could call C'iel and Gaira the "mother" and "father" of Beryls and Shajads respectively; but these two aren't that important to me, and in my story they divide from something like Adonalsium, and later they divide in Beryls and Shajads.

In the next section I left you a description of each Beryl and Shajad, the concepts I'm interested in developing and my own ideas for each one at this point, feel free to make recommendations, brainstorming, critique, ideas of how the systems could relate among them, and whatever you want contribute to.

Some guidelines I'd like to implement, feel free to ignore them:
-Each Beryl and Shajad has a number, the magic system needs to reflect that number in some way. (The number will be next to the name of each Beryl and Shajad)
-Each magic system needs to have a fuel, a focus and some way of Initiation

Mikael Beryl - The Voice of God (2)

Mikael is the first among the Beryls, the most powerful and important of all the Daughters of the Light. She is extremely consonant with C'iel's ideas, and she generally acts as her spokeswoman and representative. She was also the first one to feel the need to form part of the existence which is alien to all of them, and fused a fragment of her essence with reality as her Lady had done before. Mikael incarnates the purest guiding principles of creation, without which all living beings would be completely lost, hope and salvation. For centuries, she has looked after the flourishing of all Gaïa's races, giving little thought to their affiliation to the Light or the Darkness. She never felt any desire to be worshipped. Although several cultures considered her a deity, her only goal was always to help and inspire the others. Nevertheless, she felt a strong emphaty  with the principles and basic concepts of Christianity when they were developed. Fascinated by them, she slowly began to respond to the fruitless prayers directed to God, until in time, she became the most benign and merciful face of the god of men. Those who synchronize with her are people of great hope in the future who try to help others; they are, above all, strong believers of salvation.

    Intent: Salvation
    Splinters: Angels
Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Magic: ???
    Focus: ???
    Fuel: ???
    Initiation: ???

    Ideas
I'd like a system related to Christianity, something like "In the Bible are written some prayers to Mikael, but the Church isn't aware of that" those prayers would work like Commands of Warbreaker, where each prayer have one different effect. Although this will be limiting.

And maybe the fuel is something like the Sunlight. Or maybe a system sunlight and moonlight based.

    Ideas?

Zemial Shajad - The End of Days (1)

Zemial, the shadow of existence, the burden of all life, there are so many names for a nightmare that never should have been named. Many arguments are made to sustain his status as the greatest among Shajads and beryls, but Darkness itself states his power is only comparable to his insanity. Some say that after the War of Heaven, he exterminated entire races; others say he rebelled against his own. Whatever his actions may have been in the past, time has washed them away. The only thing we know for sure is that Gaira himself locked in the darkness to prevent him from acting freely upon the world, and chained him to the Void as punishment for his disobedience. The very thought of the existence of a concept like Zemial is a contradiction. It incarnates unchained destruction, despair, and death without meaning or purpose. It is the end of all existence. he makes no distinction between Light and Darkness; to him all tat exists must be destroyed. There is no record of cults who openly worshipped him, although ther have been cases of individuals slightly synchronizing with him. These are destructive beings that neither seek nor need justification for their acts, subjects with nothing to lose or gain in life and, usually, with some degree of psychotic disorder.

    Intent: Destruction

Uriel Beryl - The Spirit of Freedom (4)

The Free Spirit and The Rebel are some of the names Uriel is known by. He us the only Beryl to take on a masculine identity. Inside the structure of reality, he incarnates independence and free will; he is therefore opposed to tyranny, slavery, and any law that seeks to limit the autonomy of people. In spite of this , he believes there are certain natural laws that all living creatures should abide by, and that individual freedom should be limited only to respect the liberties of others. He dislikes violence, but approves it as a last resort. The Beryls think greatly of him, especially Mikael and Azrael, whom he is quite close to. Even in spite of this, his desire for absolute freedom may cause him to slightly oppose his mates sometimes. Generally, his actions (and all of himself) are entirely unpredictable. He has inspired many religions, although never in the form of an organized cult or church. Oddly enough, he was also worshipped as the god of thieves, a title for which he has competed many times with the Shajad Eriol. Those who oppose tyranny and the free spirits who live with no strings attached are the best candidates for synchronicity with this entity.

    Intent: Liberty? Autonomy?
    Splinters: ???
Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Magic: ???
    Focus: ???
    Fuel: ???
    Initiation: ???

    Ideas
Any ideas? The number assigned to this guy is 4, so I though a classic four element system, but I can't think how to relate it to Uriel's "liberty"

I like to think in this man as Hermes, the god of travelers and thieves.

    Spoiler

Jedah Shajad - Puppet Master (3)

Jedah is the puppet master, the most manipulative and machiavellian of the Shajads. His goal is to control the story of all living beings, and to use them as pawns in a game. The purpose of such manipulation is nothing but to prevent society from falling into chaos and destruction. Even though he does not aspire to a perfect order, he tries to lead people into what he believes to be the best of directions. To this end, he weaves an immense spider web in which everyone is inevitably trapped. He avoids violence and leans to more subtle methods as much as he can. However, he will not hesitate to use coercion if all else fails. This is a proud entity that would rather see its plans frustrated than have to face humiliation. Jedah incarnates dominion, politics, and knowledge. To a lesser extent, he is closest to Gaira. He is very much respected and feared, and has until now never been defeated. He possesses a gigantic network of influence both in mortal circles and great powers. He is said to control the most powerful dark entities. Those who synchronize with him are precisely those powerful and intelligent enough to influence others and have them follow their designs. Jedah has a special appreciation for particularly weak beings that face up to impossible situations and manage to overcome them. He believes that is the true meaning of strength and will.

    Intent: Domination
    Splinters:
Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Magic: ???
    Focus: Commands
    Fuel: ???
Initiation: This magic pass down in the blood. You have to belong to a certain families to have access to this magic. Is not coincidence that some of the greatest rulers of history could use this magic.

    Ideas
This has to be some domination magic. Maybe something like Commands of Warbreaker. Any Ideas?
Maybe by steal "Identity" from people you can obligate them to do something.
Maybe a user of this magic can accolade knights or assassins and grant them powers and use them like chess pieces.

    Spoiler

Gabriel Beryl - Lady of Feelings (6)

Gabriel, the great Lady of Feelings is undoubtedly the Beryl who incarnates the largest number of positive feelings. It is the lady of love, friendship, arts, and peace. Those who know the true identity of the Daughters of the light think of her as the purest among them. She feels devotion for all living beings and had always tried to protect and help them. For years she has lived among mortals under several different identities to feel integrated in their society and to be able to understand them. She is said to have become close enough with men as to even fall in love with one, although his identity is unknown. Gabriel promotes peace, friendship, love and creative feelings among artists and poets. She thinks the best way to reach the dream of C'iel is to create an awareness of the importance of these feelings. Her capacity for forgiving limitless, and she despises violent solutions. Artists and lovers and those whose lives are ruled by the most positive of feelings synchronize with her.

    Intent: Love
    Splinters:
Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

Magic: Emotional Spectrum (I'm open to better ideas of names)
    Focus: Emotions
    Fuel: Color
Initiation: Gabriel choses those who have an intense bond with someone or something, those who understands the power of feelings and bonds.

Those who can use this magic are called Emotionlinkers, and are able to use the colors to fuel their magic. Each color is associated to a emotion and a power, you only can absorb a color if you are feeling the right emotion. The stronger is a feeling, less color need the magic.

Red - Love - Make bonds
Orange - Curiosity - See emotions and bonds
Yellow - Hapiness - Increase and decrease emotions (Yes, I take this from Mistborn. I'm open to other suggestions)
Green - Hatred - Cut bonds
Blue - Fear - Make illusions
Purple - Sadness - "cloud" of mental immunity

Red: Love allows a Heartbinder to create connections between individuals. There are many ways to use this. A Heartbinder could link two persons to make them able to communicate no matter if they talk two different languages, or feel what the other is feeling physically and mentally. or know where is each other; could make a bond whit a group to communicate no matter the distance, or connect two individual to make one able to learn the skills of other. A Heartbinder can only "close" those trails but never cut them.

Orange: Curiosity allows a Truthseer to see the emotions and bonds that connects people. When a Truthseer use this power the world around them turns greyscale and they can see the emotions like an aura and bonds like a threat, each one of the color corresponding to that emotion. A trained Truthseer can see more shadows of the basic six and with that more specific emotions.
Truthseers are the only ones able to see through the illusions of a Lieweaver.

Yellow: Hapiness allows a Emotionshaper to increase or decrease the emotions of one or various individuals. A Emotionshaper cannot increase and decrease emotions at the same time, and can't increase a emotions a person is not feeling.

Green: Hatred allows a Bondbreaker to cut the bonds between people. It's easier to cut a feeling connecting two individuals than to cut the whole bond. Cut the whole bond needs a lot of color and an intense Hatred.
Cut the whole bond means that the feelings and memories related to that bond disappear. Cut all bonds of a person is like to erase it from the world.

Blue: Fear allows a Lieweaver to make illusions. The bigger need to be a illusion, more color needs.

Purple  Sadness allows a Soushield to create a "emotional cloud" that prevent others from modify the emotions and cut the bonds of those who are inside the cloud. The bigger is the cloud, more color needs.

    Other Ideas
Thanks to the contributions of the user @Ixthos I'm considering on ideas of how each power could have different applications depending on the shade of color an Emotionlinker absorves

    Spoiler

Noah Shajad - the Dark Warrior (5)

Undoubtedly, Noah is Gaira's most strict disciple. Above all, he values strength and the drive to succeed that lies within every living creature. Noah incarnates competitiveness, combat, and victory. On the other hand, he also represents darker concepts such as war and violence. He believes the only truly weak are those without the will to fight or to advance; such creatures are nothing but an obstacle in the way of evolution and universal progress. All means are acceptable when it comes to bettering one's self. He approves of all conflicts, war, and the most critical of situations no matter how tragic or terrible, in the thought that those bring out the best in people and lead them into learning. Noah tremendously dislikes those that stupidly abuse their power, and those unable of controlling it. He has opened many fronts against the Beryls, which he considers to be a weakness for the world. Many cultures have worshipped him in his best aspect as a god of war, but he has adopted many other identities throughout history. His main followers are typically great warriors or generals, but even thinkers and artists may also synchronize with him provided they are competitive enough.

    Intent: ???
    Splinters: ???
Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Magic: Ki
    Focus: Martial arts
    Fuel: ???
    Initiation:

Ki is an energy that flows in every being alive (Ki is not the energy of Noah, is just a form to call the magic, but Ki is the art of use the power inside of us) but not everyone can use it. Those who can use it are called Technicians but they need to experiment a Rupture.

What is a Rupture? Rupture is the act of pass through a Threshold.

What is a Threshold? A Threshold is a period in the life of every living being that can make the difference between life and death. Only if the body and the mind are
-Threshold of birth: The first great trial that every living being must face. Pass through this Threshold awakes Ki in the person, but they can't use it.
-Threshold of fear: When an individual overcome their fear, it means he is a Technician of First Dahn
-Threshold of pain: An individual can pass trough the Threshold of pain by physical and mental training. Get through this Threshold makes a Technician of Second Dahn
-Threshold of suffering: Mental pain is harder to overcome than physical pain. Get through this Threshold makes a Technician of Third Dahn
-Threshold of death: The death is the final point in the life of everyone, is said that a few may have overcome it, but it can't be true (or not).

I was thinking that this magic system could work as Chakra in Naruto, but is more of visual than a magic system like Emotional Spectrum of Gabriel. Maybe I could say Ki only can flow trough organic things (like Hamon), and when an inorganic object is exposed to Ki it gets destroyed. And each Threshold gives a Technician a different form to use the Ki.

I though in the possibility of different martial arts would give different Technicians different skills.

    Spoiler

Rafael Beryl - Mother Nature (8)

Life and nature are the aspects of creation that Rafael, one of the most independent Daughters of the Light, has chosen tho incarnate. She is mainly devoted to people, animals, and plants that inhabit the natural world, but deep down she loves all living creatures equally. Even though she respects magic and the occult powers, she regards them as unnecessary in comparison to natural elements and their laws. The only mystical creatures she openly sympathizes with are those closely connected to nature, such as spirits of the woods or beings associated with vegetation. She openly opposes those who destroy nature or even worse pervert life. Above all, she dislikes necromantic entities and all they stand for; she considers them as a deviation. For centuries she has struggled with the idea of initiating active confrontation against them for fear of losing an important part of her conscience in the process. Many druids and cultures associated with forest worship her as the origin of all life and think of her as a primary aspect of creation. Those who protect nature and life achieve the highest level of synchronicity with her.

    Intent: ¿Cultivation?
    Splinters: ???
Manifestations of power: Solid (Flowers), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Magic: ???
    Focus: Plants
    Fuel: Plants
Initiation: When a person bond with an animal

Some people are capable of bonding with animals (which people? I don't know) which grant them access to the magic of ___________. People with access to this magic are able to metabolize some plants into powers.

The blood of these individuals turns green due to a change they experiment and they have chlorophyll in it, this allow them to cure and regenerate when they are exposed to sunlight.

    Bonding with animals

When a human and an animal are bonded they can feel with each other senses, including pain, if one dies the other one too.

An animal thoughts are limited, at first they would communicate only trough senses and emotions, but in time they will develop more complex thoughts until reach the level of a human being.

    Metabolizing plants

Maybe the easy way is to use Allomantic chart and replace metals and metal related powers with plants and plants related powers. Any ideas?
    -Heal
    -Produce poison
    -Produce hormones
-control plants (I need limitations for this if this will be a power)

Maybe I could give the human a power and the animal other different when one eat the plant

Erebus Shajad - The Shadow of Dreams (7)

Erebus is one of the most enigmatic of Shajads; his actions and goals are always wrapped in mystery. He is the Lord of Shadows, and he has chosen to incarnate the occult, the supernatural and fear. Throughout history, many cultures have worshipped as a god of magic, dreams , or wonders. He remains away of the other Shajads' conflicts for power while concentrating on his own mysterious ends. He is whimsical and unpredictable, but he follows a strange set of self-imposed rules which he never breaks. He supports the followers of the occult and magic, as well as all those dreamers who are able to create wonders in their sleep. Surprisingly, his influence is as big in dreams as it is in nightmares, although he is much more interested in the most fundamental and primeval emotion of living beings. To him, this is the secret drive behind all acts in the world and even the originator of existence itself. He who is not afraid, and is not able to understand this, has no future and is doomed to disappear. Whoever masters fear will have creation at his feet. Those who employ supernatural forces and dabble in the occult will synchronize with him. He is also drawn to those who learn to master fear, as well as dreamers and poets.

    Intent: Fear/Imagination
Splinters: Nightmares (like spren, but related to fears)
Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Magic: ???
    Focus: ???
    Fuel: ???
    Initiation: ???

    Ideas
I don`t have anything for this guy. Any ideas that come to mid?

Maybe, the best for this man is to have an Occultist magic system, something inspired in Alchemy, Astrology and those things.

Azrael Beryl - Queen of Swords (10)

Azrael is the warrior of the Light, the Beryl who represents the concepts of good and justice. This is a combative entity always ready to employ violence in the defense of the innocent and all the principles she personifies. She has a rather tumultuous story. At the beginning she was as peaceful as Mikael or Rafael and devoted to helping everyone equally. But little by little, she started to witness daily massacres of innocent victims who were not helped by any of the principles she stood for. All the pain, suffering, and death influenced her deeply in her decision to fight for all those who deserved protection and justice. Since then, her philosophy has moved into a violent direction, its goal being to confront evil and darkness even if this means going against some of C'iel's ideas (whom she professes true devotion for). She is the Beryl who faces the Shajads and the forces of darkness most directly. She combats their agents and followers and is at all-out war with them. In the very few occasions C'iel requires the use of violence, it is usually Azrael's agents and paladins she relies on. She is the precept heroes incarnate, as well as all those who fight to defend those in need even at the expense of their own lives.

I don't want to copy Surgebinding, BUT I want magic knights for this girl. For those who are familiar with Anima, you know there are some weapons called Lawbringers,  I will relate them to Azrael, just I don't know what will be the process to create one.

Abbadon Shajad - The Primeval Evil (9)

Abbadon was originally the only Shajad unable to find a place for himself within the structure of reality. Indecisive, he ended up by absorbing in his essence all the minor negative feelings  not related to his companions like disgust, envy, anger or pride. However, he did not feel attached tho those emotions and to increase his importance he decided to personify the very principle of evil itself. As a form of mockery to all what the Beryls represent, his favorite incarnation is the traditional Christian devil; the figure of the fallen angel, which symbolizes all the sins of men and where he derives his name from. In time, he has come to feel exceptionally attached to this representation, to the point of considering it the main aspect of his being. He is constantly competing with the other Shajads for power and conspiring against Jedah and Meseguis to overtake their predominance. He is completely absorbed by the precept he has chosen and the role he plays, so he delight himself causing tragedies and spreading evil. His followers are usually satanists or worshippers of evil deities from different cultures. Those who synchronize best with him are low or deranged individuals whose lives are guided by evil.

This magic system has to be related to the Seven Deadly Sins, just I don`t know how will be work.

-Something like Berserk and the Apostles thing.

Barakiel Beryl - The Demiurge (12)

Barakiel is a powerful Beryl who incarnates the concepts of order and law. She thinks of herself as the greatest and highest of all powers, outdone only by C'iel herself, the only entity she admires and worships. The goal of her philosophy is to lead all civilizations into a perfect order of absolute equality. She thinks the way to achieve this is by establishing strict laws that govern every aspect of human life. She abhors chaos and instability, and fosters the advancement of the exact sciences, like mathematics and mechanics. She has a tense relationship with her sisters; in her opinion all of them are weak and imperfect. Her attitude has caused several open conflicts with Mikael, whose privileged position next to their Master she covets. She is extremely strict with her chosen ones and followers and demands them to maintain a scrupulous order and never to make mistakes. Those who fail rarely receive a second chance to please her. She is vain and likes to feel adored in all of the identities she takes on as a deity of order, law and sciences. She synchronizes with narcissistic people who are endowed with great abilities or powers and who above all conduct their lives in an orderly fashion. She also favors scientists and those who worship her in any of her faces.

    Intent: Order

    Ideas
At first I copied the idea of AonDor due to that of the modifiers being something like mathematic calculations, but I couldn't think for proper limitations and someone with this kind of power would be OP compared to other magic systems.

Eriol Shajad - Angel of Chaos (11)

The Angel of Chaos is one of the strangest Lords of Darkness. His philosophy digresses from the principles pf balance that both the Shajads and the Beryls have tried to sustain. He is an anarchic entity who, ironically, shares more doctrines with Uriel than anyone would care to admit. He is very fickle and will easily change his mind accordin to his mood. In spite of this, he has a profound bond with Gaira, to whom he is totally faithful. Eriol incarnates chaos and luck, both good and bad. From his standpoint, existence is an infinite set of possibilities within which of these possibilities will actually materialize. To him everything is a game he calls "The Law of Chance". Controlling it is what makes the difference between good or bad luck. Those who synchronize with him are people who do not respect other rulers except for their own, and those who trust luck to guide their lives. Throughout history, Eriol and his agents have inspired several cults associated with the principles upholds, such as luck, fortune, or even chaos itself.

If Uriel is Hermes, Eriol has to be Loki, or the gnostic interpretation of Lucifer: Satanael, who rebelled against the Demiurge and granting the physical world with free-will and chaos.

Edamiel Beryl - The Spirit of Emptiness

There is no Shajad or Beryl as inscrutable and unfeeling as The Spirit of Emptiness. Edamiel is separated from the world by her own choice, and unlike her sisters, she is not interested in becoming integrated with it. In the beginning, she tried to incarnate pleasure, the only feeling that brought her some satisfaction. Unfortunately, she soon realized not even that was enough to fill the void she carried inside, and she slowly drifted apart from reality until she disappeared. That is how she involuntarily came to represent abstract notions, like ignorance and nothingness, that neither Light nor Dark wanted to pick up,

In a way, she has a vague concept of how impossible it is for living beings to really achieve happiness, since however intense that feeling may be, it is meant to fade. According to her, the only way for every being is to become one with emptiness and disappear forever without guilt, suffering, or grief. All of her sisters are horrified by her attitude and try to help her, but until now, they have tolerated her without admitting the great threat Edamiel poses to existence. Once in a while, she will fall back to her old incarnation and set pleasure and desire loose in the world, but she often uses them as emotions to confuse the senses and throw people into nothingness. She has worshippers among many cultures, where she has adopted several identities as a deity of desire and pleasure. Alarmingly, the number of individuals synchronizing with her is a lot higher than one would expect, from people governed by worldly pleasures to lonely beings with no intention of integrating with the world.

Manifestations of power: Solid (???), Liquid (???), Gas (???)

    Ideas
I like to think in Edamiel as "what would happen if a life is only filled with happiness and never know some pain or fear". Personally, I believe we suffer some times to know and appreciate the moments of happiness we have in life. To know happiness you need to know what pain is.

The magic system for Edamiel need to feel as a drug. You are euphoric when you use it, but little to little it starts to consume you.

Meseguis Shajad - The Lament of Darkness

Meseguis, the Lady of Vengeance, is the only Shajad to have adopted a female identity. She us exceptionally powerful and, together with Jedah, she has great influence on Gaira. In her essence, she has put together some of the darkest and most contradictory feelings of Man, such as hatred, pain and sadness. However, contrary to one may expect, she has a profound dislike for these emotions and is always trying to spare us from them. She feels that forgiving and forgetting is never a good cure for the very same feeling she incarnates and abhors, it can only provide a temporary shelter from hatred and sadness, but it is never a definitive solution. This is why Meseguis is so obsessed with vengeance; according to the Dark Lady, this is the only way to achieving peace. So it is that those consumed with hatred and sorrow are able to synchronize with her only faintly, while those who really believe in vengeance and are willing to help others in their vendettas can achieve a true communion. She is said to be a melancholy entity, often governed by her emotions for better or for worse. Sometimes she will try to protect the weak, and other times her cruelty will reach unfathomable proportions even to the gods.

Any Ideas? I don't have any for Meseguis.

I'm already working on a story for the magic of Gabriel: Emotional Spectrum, starring by twins.

I like this, though just a heads up, The Green Lantern Corps comics use the term Emotional Spectrum for the different colours of emotion that powers each corps, so it might be a good idea to go with a different name.

The powers look interesting, though an idea that might be fun to use is to see how darker and lighter shades affect a power - so does dark red change the nature of ease of making the bond, such as adding additional properties to it, as well as the idea of colours half-way between two others, such as cyan being a combination of both making illusions and cutting bonds.

    Otherwise I like this :-)

I wrote the system thinking that one individual can use only one of the six powers, like mistings from Mistborn. But I was thinking on how a person could access to more powers, I don’t want to use the Mistborn way.

  10. Why is green hatred?
•Think lt like a chromatic circle. Green is the opposite to Red. So, if Red is Love, Green has to be Hatred.

Can we swap blue and purple? for color mood asociation.
•Yes, but that would swap Yellow and Orange of place

maybe have hatred be a red/black color?
•Yeah, but that way it wouldn’t be a chromatic circle.

Anyway that's what I have for the moment, looks good.

    Thanks

  11. Greetings to all of you from México, this is my first post in the web.

Maybe some of you have heard of Anima Beyond Fantasy. I'm in the task to write a magic system for each Beryl and Shajad due to their similarities with the Shards, just for fun. I want some advice, brainstorming, critique and whatever you can contribute to this.

First, I want some critique about this magic system based in emotions, lets call it "Emotional Spectrum" due to a lack of a better name. It's origin is the Beryl Gabriel.

Those who can use this magic are able to use the colors to fuel their magic.

Red: Love allows a Bondmaker (I'm open to new suggestions for names) to create connections between individuals. There are many ways to use this. A Bondmaker could link two persons to make them able to communicate no matter if they talk two different languages, or feel what the other is feeling physically and mentally. or know where is each other; could make a bond whit a group to communicate no matter the distance, or connect two individual to make one able to learn the skills of other. A Bondmaker can only "close" those trails but never cut them.

Green: Hatred allows a Linkbreaker to cut the bonds between people.

Purple  Sadness allows a _________ to create a "emotional cloud" that prevent others from modify the emotions and cut the bonds of those who are inside the cloud. The bigger is the cloud, more color needs.
