  1. The creature shuddered, sensing something wrong. Whatever was going to happen, it would be better if they weren't there for it. It tried to signal Star as blatantly as it could that they needed to leave.
  2. Glancing quickly between the two, the Mordite infused creature shifted. The rotting skin rippled and bulged as each bone moved, the torn muscle pulling them this way and that in an attempt to make its body thicker, and more intimidating. It suffered a single glance towards Star, waiting carefully for what she planned on doing. It was because of her that it was in this mess, surrounded by so much that it didn't know. If she couldn't handle this situation- It cut off the thought, instead focusing on how best to approach the group from a tactical standpoint.
  3. The creature glanced towards the Narrator's cadavar, the curiosity that the "Selil" disturbed returning. Star's emotions seemed . . . Intense. Possibly harmful to her. Perhaps, they also could be used to blind her. They would have to be careful of that in the future.
  4. The stabbing was easily ignored in terms of her intended agony, but it made the creature meet Star's eyes.
  5. Was this her strategy? Or did she have something else in mind for their return visit. This sort of approach would only work for so long. Besides, could they trust the figure? The one Star called "Selil." Nothing about any of this made sense to the creature, and it continued to consider methods of escape.
  6. The creature held still, following her commands for the time being. Blood still dripped from the Mordite blade that stuck through its hand, landing on the floor beneath it.
  7. Star and the other Narrator seemed to hate one another, and now she interacted more or less fine with this new one. The creature's fingers started twitching, feeling the need to move and strike instead of simply thinking. Thoughts were meaningless without action. It just didn't understand how Star could claim to want the same thing as it, and yet not want to kill this interloper who was almost certainly a Narrator. She must have been lying, as it has suspected. Perhaps an escape was needed, if it was only going to serve as a Narrator's pet, or toy. Even death would be a preferable alternative to being a Narrator's slave.
  8. "Corpse's" eyes were cold, with no emotion behind them as they stared back at the new figure. The creature shifted, standing perfectly straight, but didn't sit. It was not completely ruled by Star. It only chose to follow her because it served its purposes.
  9. The creature paused, its blade holding perfectly still in midair.
  10. The creature reacted just as fast, matching the new figure's speed and hardly even flinching at the strike. Its face was harder than steel, and it used its momentum to shift into another strike towards where a Narrator's heart should be.
  11. "Corpse" spun around, the blood still dripping from its hand as it settled into a defensive posture. It didn't have time to be curious over Star's display, instead immediately switching targets as it lunged towards the new figure.
  12. Without a moment's hesitation, the creature linged forward with impossible speed. Star had escaped because her gift of mind reading saved her, but this arrogant fool? He stood no chance as "Corpse" thrust a shard of its Mordite bone through its own skin, and directly into the awaiting heart of the Narrator.
  13. The creature became very skeptical in that moment, but it was clear that either this worked, or it would die anyways. "Corpse's" bones restructured themselves on a whim, shifting under its rotting and repulisve skin every so slightly to better prepare for a swift and decisive strike. It was ready. Star just needed to lead the way.
  14. Pet? That should likely anger "Corpse." Perhaps the Narrator was attempting to get a reaction out of it. Although with a quick glance towards Star, it was obvious that the intended reaction was not going to be from "Corpse." It seemed as if there was tension between the Narrators, especially this "Star." That could prove to be . . . Invaluable. Best to continue watching on the moment. Let them continue.
  15. "Corpse" hardly moved, watching the newcomer with an eerie stillness. When the pompous Narrator leaned towards the one called Star, its hand flinched, wanting to jab forward for where it knew the Newcomer's core. However, it held itself back, knowing the value of patience.
  16. The creature was in perfect agreement. But killing a Narrator was a different task, as evident by the failure with killing Star. They needed to plan. They needed an overwhelming advantage in surprise or something else, or they would die.
  17. Glancing at the Narrator's head, the creature bounced a handful of ideas over what precisely Star was thinking. It started twitching, obviously anxious. Must . . . Move . . . Quickly . . . It had to force the words to form in its mind, its brow furrowing from the effort. One you . . . Let away . . . Will . . . Be . . . Problem.
  18. Its nose crinkled. Food was unnecessary for it to achieve its goals. As was standing around, but it seemed to not be given a choice in this matter.
  19. About the countless monsters undoubtedly surrounding them? The creature made another scoffing sound, but this one sound far more like a laugh. Even then, true emotion was lacking. It offered Star a sideways glance, wondering how she would handle in a fight against her own kind.
  20. The creature stopped responding to Star, instead focusing on the area around them.
  21. It tapped its finger impatiently, glancing around the area. This was ridiculous, they had to get moving, lest someone else stumble upon them. Besides, what did a name matter when one had their purpose so perfectly defined? How else should it be known than the weapon to end the Narrators?
  22. I wonder how many people actually read these.

Let them. I'll give them a piece of my mind.

Although if I suddenly disappear, y'all know why

I read them (& I want big pockets too. I love pockets! Now I just buy men's jeans.)

    4. Experience

      Experience

I use to have a pair of shorts that had like fifteen pockets. I'm still sad I grew out of them, they were so useful.

  23. It didn't care. It only had a single purpose, and that was better than any meaningless name.
  24. Beauty . . . It had known what that was, once. It leaped to its feat, disregarding the thought without a moment's hesitation. It felt a desire to move, to escape the hall of Narrators before something descendes upon it. But it was held by a chain. The creature stared at Star, its face passive while a sense of frustration was set on its mind.
