  1. Just noticed this now. As I understand it, I can only accept all or nothing, but I do sometimes rephrase rules when I add them to the list of rules for clarity and to cover loopholes. If I ever rephrase a rule in such a way that it changes the original intent, someone please let me know and I will reconsider the rule. Approved. I appoint you Inquisitor. It's best that no one asks where the spikes came from.
  2. Welcome aboard, @Chinkoln! A description and the game rules are kept updated at the very beginning of this thread. I'm the Lord Ruler, the other players are Houses, and everyone is trying to win the game by gathering 1,024 Atium. Because you were referred, you and Negative_Null get 20 Atium. The game rules change as we play, because an integral part of the game is proposing new rules.
  3. Accepted. I agree, we are in need of more nobles. If you're a new player who was invited by someone else, let us know in your first post who invited you!
  4. Approved. This was what I assumed that it meant, but I realize now that it would be a good idea to make that clear in the rule itself.
  5. "Kar, come in. You've been doing good, but your numbers this quarter are down. I'm sorry that I have to do this, but we're removing your spikes for a better candidate." "What... but I'm nothing without my spikes!" "If you're nothing without your spikes, then you shouldn't have them."
  6. Accepted! I feel like House Tellen should at least get one page of being Favored House, so I'm not going to take that away yet, but this is very well done. I'm not sure how many bets we are going to see, as there haven't been any yet, but the role can always be adjusted if it turns out it would be useful for something else. For now, I plan to pick the Inquisitor based on the "whoever volunteers first" rule, the same as I did for Obligator.
  7. Interesting. I like it. Accepted. For coming up with the idea, Negative_Null of House Tellen is now my Favored House. I will most likely pick Favored House in the future depending on who comes up with a good rule change.
  8. Accepted. Aardvarks always dance.
  9. Rejected, as it seems like it would get annoying. But, I would accept this proposal if it was just a bonus to the first person who spots it- say 5 Atium to anyone who first spots a post with a deficiency in A's? Approved. This is for official censuses, which list all players and their Atium. If you accidentally get ninja'd though (like if you were typing at the same time that someone else posted something), then this won't apply. Approved. If the Obligator breaks the above rule twice then they lose their position. At that point, anyone can volunteer to be the new Obligator (under the current rules, that includes the old Obligator). Of course! There is no limit to what kind of rules can be proposed, unless/until we make rules that limit what kind of rules can be proposed. Feel free to propose offices such as Inquisitors, Hazekillers, Generals, or whatever else you think of, as well as their associated powers. Try to be specific.
  10. Did you hear about that bank robbery? It was really crazy- didn't the robbers have a blue turtle as their leader? Yeah, it's all true. That's why I never wear sweat pants.
  11. Rejected, I'm not ready to give up absolute power just yet. However, perhaps we can have some sort of ranking system with a benefit to whoever has the most Atium at any given time. That will be easier once the first official census is posted by @Doomstick. Rejected. However, it might be interesting to add a mechanic where you lose Atium from a rejected proposal. Maybe 2-5? Rejected. But I am willing to shorten the time if people think two weeks of inactivity is too long- perhaps one week, as opposed to the current two weeks? Rejected. Not that I think that it is a bad idea- but right now boxings aren't a unit of currency. Perhaps we could set one up where 1 Atium = 10 boxings or something? In turn, people could spend boxings to buy things from a shop- keeps, Allomancers, armies, and the like.
  12. Rejected, as I am still waiting for further clarification.
  13. How was your date? And it turned out, it was in my pocket the whole time!
  14. Approved, that seems like it will prevent overuse of the Mistborn. Approved. If the proposal/amendment has not yet been approved, and another house blocks it with a Mistborn, that block can be unblocked with another Mistborn. To be clear, is that a proposal for a rule that would change how the Census is taken, or is it just a request to all the other players that they post their House name and Atium total so that you can put it in the Census? If it is the second, my Atium score remains at 0, and as the Lord Ruler I have no house. I count your current Atium as 50, including the Amendments that I approved here. Am I missing something?
  15. It's funny how INFPs and INTPs are some of the more rare personalities, only 3-5% of the general population, but with this sample they are the most popular choices.
  16. Your first proposal is Rejected. Laws have to be... you know, specific. If you want a cap, then propose that cap, not just that there should be a cap. Your second proposal is Approved. Especially since no one was really following it @Doomstick, it would probably be a good idea to include people's Houses when you produce the Census.
  17. It looks like this thread is dead. If anyone is looking for a live Nomic game, there is an Imperial Nomic game I am running just around the corner. Imperial Nomic doesn't have the voting mechanic of standard Nomic; instead, the Lord Ruler (me, for now) approves or rejects proposals. As such it is a lot faster and more centralized than standard Nomic. If that sounds interesting to any of you, feel free to join here:
  18. The resurrected form of this thread is here: If anyone is interested in a quicker, more centralized version of Nomic called Imperial Nomic, I have a game going here: There is, of course, nothing stopping you from being in both.
  19. I appoint you Obligator. Note that since I didn't make the first census in an official capacity, you can make one in this page right now. All three proposals are approved.
  20. Approved. Let's see where this goes; bets, of course, should be public, and you can't bet more Atium than you have.
  21. Rejected. It would need a bit more clarity to pass- are the bets in Atium or some other resource, and what are the bets about?
  22. Rejected. While I do want this to end eventually, I don't want it to end too quickly.
  23. Effective immediately. So you now have 10 Atium.
