  1. Approved. This particular law had a long journey, but I am intrigued to see where it leads in the game's meta. So, in summary: Multiple Houses working together can hire Mistborn to assassinate another House. It takes three Mistborn to take down a House. After a House is brought down, all their Atium is divided among the nobles that hired the Mistborn. A victim can hire Mistborn to cancel out other Mistborn. Other Houses can intervene, sending their Mistborn to aid the victim. A noble that is assassinated can continue to play, just loses all their Atium. Approved. I'm curious to see if any Houses start gathering into clubs, and which ones. Which proposal were you talking about here, if it wasn't the Club one?
  2. It's a violation of Rule 205 for a House to hire more than 1 Mistborn per 3 pages, and it seems too overpowered to remove that Rule in favor of your current proposal (then one House could just spend 48 Atium to take out another House all at once). I would accept your proposal if it required cooperation between 3 Houses, as I at first assumed it meant, but I won't accept it if one House can do it on their own. @Illwei, is this the proposal that you said was a joke, or was it a different one? Accepted. If someone has a message that is just a Call For Judgement or just a Proposal/Amendment, they can't be called out for Rule 206. Extra commentary outside of the Call for Judgement or suggested rule change can still be called out for Rule 206. Judgment This is indeed a violation of Rule 201. As a Favored House, Negative_Null of House Tellen gets double the penalty, as per Rule 112. A standard penalty for a violation is about 3 Atium, so Negative_Null of House Tellen is fined 6 Atium. Let the executions begin.
  3. Rejected. This seems to unnecessarily complicate the proposal process. If another player wants a different version of a proposal to be accepted, they are welcome to propose their own version of that rule, and the Lord Ruler or Senate can approve the version that they prefer. Judgment By "adding meaning to the post", I interpret it to mean that the a's have to make actual grammatical sense. There is nothing wrong with bringing up Andy's alliterative apples, but if you were misspelling words just to get your post to have enough a's then that would be a rule violation. Rejected. There is already enough on my plate without having to make Judgments on "what counts as poetry?". Rejected. None of the current players have enough Atium to win the game by merging, even if all of the players merged into one super-House. In addition, the wincon does not actually prevent multiple players from winning the game; Rules 005 and 006, when considered together, imply that if multiple players were somehow able to get 1,024 Atium at the same time that each of those players would win the game. Rule 212 merely allows another avenue for players to work toward their goals. To be clear, are you proposing that Rules 005 and 006 be made immutable, so that they cannot be further changed unless a law is approved that makes it possible for them to be changed again? Or are you proposing something else?
  4. Approved. Hopefully, this won't lead to Mistbornageddon... Welcome to the Final Empire, Fura! You're right that new players are still welcome to join, and you and Illwei both get an additional 20 Atium because you were referred. Feel free to pick a House name. Approved, added clarity is welcome. Rejected. It seems like an unnecessary added step for a Secretary to write out proposals for someone else. However, I could get behind a law that awarded Atium to people who helped to rewrite existing laws to make them more clear/legible. Rejected. My problem with this law is that there isn't anyone assigned to find spelling errors, which means that people would have to Call For Judgment... which means that it would be my job to work out that the grammar was 100% correct. Approved. For those who want to use PMs, this will allow them to work in an orderly way. Proposals and other official actions still have to be done on-thread, of course. Rejected. Calling For Judgement already serves this purpose. Approved. Both players must agree to the House merger, and limits on Mistborn still apply to Houses, not individuals. Each House only gets one vote in the Senate (with additional votes still given for each role in that House). Rust and Ruin! Proposals are coming out faster than I can keep track of them!
  5. Approved, that seems like common sense but it is good to make that clear. Approved, I appreciate the added flavor. Rejected. Let them. It is good for them to get purged every century or so. It fosters instability, keeps the aristocracy from growing too confident. Usually, I let them kill each other in one of their foolish wars, but these riots will work. To be clear, that means that three different Houses have to team up to take out another House, paying 16 Atium each? Can other Houses intervene, sending their Mistborn to aid the victim? This seems like it could get interesting...
  6. Rejected. It's frankly a bit more needlessly complicated than I like. Approved. Might as well make it easier to make the census. Judgment Since the issue is with the House name, not the amount of Atium, it is not a miscount. Rejected. I don't want it to be too easy for someone to gain Atium from their own post. Judgment If :3 is intended to represent an animal then it is not in violation of Rule 201. I think that I am just going to switch Illwei and The_Truthwatcher's roles, as Illwei seems a better fit for Obligator. House Relidian is now Obligator, House Soliel is now Inquisitor. Judgment Signatures can be changed retroactively at any time without an 'edited' note, which would make it difficult if not impossible for people keeping track to know if they applied in that case. They also could be hidden or not seen if used on a mobile browser. Therefore, I rule that signatures do not count as A's for the purpose of Rule 206.
  7. Accepted. Some clarification: Each role gives its owner an extra vote in the Senate. The 3/4 vote is based on the total number of votes among the Nobles, rounded up. So at present, there are 10 votes in the Senate, and a proposal or amendment must have 8 votes in order to pass after being seconded. If a proposal is accepted or rejected by one body (LR or Senate) before the other, then the proposal is law and the other body can't accept or reject it afterward. Accepted. Note, however, that many laws don't have a standard Noble fine. Accepted. I'm happy to make things a bit more clear. Rejected. For clarity's sake, it is necessary that the Houses and Atium total be in one legible post; otherwise Atium totals could vary between posts.
  8. Very well. Judgment Using the two "aa"s together for the purpose of getting 7 a's in the message is a violation of Rule 206, which outlaws posting multiple a's together for that purpose. If the double a's had been part of a word, such as "bazaar", this would not be a violation of the rule. Similarly, if the double a's had not brought the total up to 7 a's, or if the total had been more than 7 a's, this also would not be a violation of the rule. However, since neither of those criteria were met, the Lord Ruler finds Negative_Null of House Tellen guilty and fines House Tellen 5 Atium. Let the executions begin.
  9. Rejected. I'm hesitant to accept any rule that allows a law to be passed without any consideration; if the proposal is automatically accepted after 3 days, then it likely means that the Lord Ruler just forgot about it. I need more clarity here. When you say "reverse the ruling of the Lord Ruler", do you mean that Judgments can be appealed to the Senate, or that they can change the Lord Ruler's decision on a proposed law?
  10. Excellent. Remember to include the roles: Lord Ruler, Obligator, Inquisitor, and Favored House; and the currently pending proposals.
  11. To be clear, what happens after two days? Is the proposal automatically Rejected, or does the proposer get some kind of Atium reward as compensation for the Lord Ruler taking too long? Accepted. Accepted. At current, though, might I note that it would be difficult for the Lord Ruler to make transactions- I started with no Atium, and I can't gain or lose Atium while in office per rule 101. I'm willing to accept the offer, but it takes a bit of legal maneuvering. I'll make you Obligator, and give you a reward of 10 Atium per Rule 109. That would mean your first Census would earn you 20 Atium total, not the full 22. Is that acceptable?
  12. Confession time: There's a bit of a trick that you can do in Steel Soul. I don't consider it cheating, but some might. If you exit to the menu while doing Steel Soul, when you return to the game you respawn with full health at the last bench. This can be done during boss fights at no penalty. I can totally see it!
  13. I was introduced first through the Alcatraz books, when I was quite young. I thought they were good, but I didn't know that Brandon had written any other books. A couple years later I read the Rithmatist and I LOVED it. I couldn't wait for the sequel, so I was like, "I'll read this guy's other books until Rithmatist 2 comes out. It says it comes out in 2014, how long could the wait be?" I read Steelheart, then started reading the Cosmere novels. Reading Mistborn officially cemented Brandon as my all-time favorite author, and I now read all of his books compulsively. Rithmatist 2 still hasn't come out...
  14. Granted. You are now unable to sleep. I wish for the Aztlanian to come out.
  15. Here are my tips for Delicate Flower and Mantis Lord: Delicate Flower- Go for charms that increase your attack range. Stuff like Grubberfly's Elegy, Longnail, Mark of Pride, and anything that reduces spell cost/increases spell damage. Try out different routes and note which ones get you farther. For me, the big killer was the Mantis Nymphs (that's what they are called, right? The ones that fly and throw things). For the Nymphs, get into a good position to blast one with spells and shoot at it until it dies, then continue forward, only fighting one at a time. Mantis Lord- My main advice is that for all of Mantis Lord's attacks, he always hesitates for two beats and then attacks on the third beat. If you notice him winding up, don't dash through him immediately- wait for the third beat then dash through him with the shade cloak. Sharp shadow is good for this, because in addition to the damage it deals it also increases your dash length. As for Grimm, I went through with the ritual rather than banishing the Troupe. I don't think that the final-level Grimmchild was really worth it, though- I barely ever use it, and the boss fight to get it with NK Grimm is insane. Way harder than beating Hollow Knight's final boss. It seriously took me two weeks. Has anyone tried Steel Soul mode? I got a lot farther than I expected before I got too cocky and died in Deepnest.
  16. Judgment Here we have a failure to follow Rule 201 (having in animal in your first post of the page). As this is a first offense, and was your first post in the thread (so you might not have known of the rule), I fine you 2 Atium. Let the executions begin. Accepted. Accepted. Perhaps we should call in-debt houses "skaa"? I'm not going to accept or reject this quite yet; I want a bit more time to mull it over. I'm a bit hesitant to take on this duty officially, as I originally intended for the Obligator to do that job for me via the census. I'm not sure what @Doomstick is waiting on- if someone else wants to be Obligator instead and promises to post a Census within today, I'm willing to appoint them Obligator. I'm going to Reject this proposal for now. Accepted. This seems like an acceptable cap for Judgements. Just seeing this now. Accepted, but I'm adding the clarification "whichever is larger". Note that today is the 3rd day without a census; if @Doomstick doesn't post a census today then this rule will come into effect.
  17. While I don't think that this is an absolutely terrible idea, it seems too easily exploited in order to get a ridiculous proposal to pass that would otherwise never, ever be passed. So this proposal is rejected. You are now at -12 Atium. I might, however, if it was worded well enough and not easily exploitable, accept a proposal that allowed for laws to be accepted without Lord Ruler input under certain specific conditions, something like: "If a certain amount of time (multiple days at least) passes without the Lord Ruler accepting or rejecting a proposal, the person who made that proposal may repost it and call for a vote among the various Houses. At that point, if the law reaches a majority (or possibly 3/4ths supermajority) among all of the Houses who would appear on a Census (because they have posted in the last two weeks) and the Lord Ruler still has neither accepted or rejected the proposal, it becomes law." I see that you're going for the rules-lawyer approach there, Danex of House ImGonnaHackThisEventuallyJustYouWait (or, presumably, Ightejyw for short). You are, of course, perfectly welcome to do so, but I'm not going to make it easy.
  18. *Still laughing* Rejected. Your current Atium count is now -8. Do you have a house name in mind? Perhaps Misadventure?
  19. LOL. All three proposals are Rejected, of course. You now have -6 Atium. Welcome aboard!
  20. It just seemed like an appropriate way for the Lord Ruler to pass judgment...
  21. Judgment Here we have a violation of Rule 201 (lack of an animal on the first post of the page) and Rule 206 (No putting a string of a's together to prevent someone benefitting from Rule 206). As this is a first offense and likely a joke, I hereby fine Matrim's Dice of House Ethorris 5 Atium. Let the executions begin.
  22. The Lord Ruler is subject to rules, the same as all other players. The only differences are that the Lord Ruler can't gain or lose Atium, and that the Lord Ruler can't win the game while he/she is Lord Ruler. If someone notices a player breaking a rule (including the Lord Ruler), they can Call for Judgement to settle the rule dispute and/or get the offender penalized in Atium. I admit that it's a bit hazy right now, especially since the Lord Ruler currently is the one who settles rule disputes.
  23. Approved. I don't plan on using this power often, but the ability to do it is welcome.
  24. I like the idea, but the examples seem like they would get really complicated really fast. Perhaps with simpler animal abilities? Like "if someone else posts a picture of your animal, you take 5 Atium from them" or something along those lines. Until then, Rejected. I'm not counting the examples for the purposes of Rule 003, so that's only a -2 Atium loss. Oops... that's a double post. Sorry!
