  1. I really did like the time machine feature for RoW. I'm up to date on the Cosmere, and so what I've done is for my discord, which is geared towards new readers for the Cosmere is have a channel called copper mind and one called arcanum where someone that has a question can ask the people who are up to date, and they can look it up, and tell them, omitting the spoilers for what they haven't read, which you can see because of the roles. Its organized by series, but at least I generally know on what book the people who are in the middle of a series are in, so that helps too.
  2. definitely agree here. not sure if I'm going with the theory, but its an interesting theory.
  3. I’m glad you enjoyed it. As for the instagram account, I don’t know why you weren’t able to find it. In any case, here’s the link https://www.instagram.com/worldhopperspodcast/
  4. We had a great time recording today, thanks for all the little pieces of lore. Our next episode is going to be the full spoiler discussion, so if there is anything that goes into that category, feel free to leave a comment.
  5. I saw this notification pop up, and a smile split my face that one of the panelists on Shardcast is listening to us. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. But being from 3 different countries, of course pronunciation would come up.
  6. Nice. There is a reason we chose the 16th after all.
  7. https://anchor.fm/worldhoppers-podcast/episodes/Episode-1-What-is-the-Cosmere-Introduction-ep27ml Starting a new podcast with a couple of friends, and have released the first of our monthly episodes today, talking about what the Cosmere is, and some recommendations for first time readers. We’d love to have your feedback, and questions, or something you want us to talk about. Appropriately, the release of episodes will be the 16th of each month.
  8. I had no idea. Nice fact.
  9. I'd never met anyone who started with Alloy of Law. Interesting
  10. Definitely. Personally, though that wasn't my order because it was hard to get the books here, I really like Drew's (from Inking Out Loud) reading order. It's meant to highlight these connections in an order that won't do what you're talking about. That's what my next reread will be.
  11. I really like this theory. It makes a lot of sense, and would be fascinating to explore in the future, since we really don't know as much about Taldain. It would be a great catalyst for Khriss to begin her studies on investiture.
  12. Definitely agree there. You recognize Sazed's voice in the epigraphs (narrative voice, I haven't listened to the audiobook), but I do think that Kelsier/Thaidakar is harder to recognize because it happens so close after the Vargodium reveal, and you can go past it. Then again, before the reread I'm just finishing of TFE, it had been a while since I'd read it, and it had only been once.
  13. I know someone who has read RoW, and is only reading Mistborn for the first time. One of my cohosts on the Worldhoppers Podcast. I'm looking forward to getting to that reveal eventually, and being able to tell her, but of course I won't say anything until after Secret History.
  14. I still do think he is Thaidakar, the evidence is just too much for me to believe otherwise, but it is interesting to me that people still do have evidence to think otherwise. And I hadn't noticed the chapter titles. That's just more of Brandon's amazing subtle foreshadowing.
  15. That's an interesting theory. I'd like to see where it goes.
  16. I'm kind of surprised this is a debate here. I hadn't considered some of the points against Kelsier being Thaidakar though. You gave me a lot to think about.
  17. Welcome to the Shard. What's a particular piece of lore you really enjoy? (with no spoilers)
  18. Welcome to the Shard. Without spoilers, what's a particular piece of lore that you really enjoy?
  19. I know. That's why I say that. It's *that* debate. I know it's the pronunciation in world, but that Brandon doesn't use it. Its strange. I've never seen something else like that before.
  20. that's why I put it in quotes. And I haven't looked at the one in LoTR. It would be a really interesting thing to do. And I definitely agree that visions, prophecies and dreams were far more common in literature of that era, but I don't have many sources either.
  21. that debate about pronunciation. But its a nice piece of lore. I assumed he would be from the central dominance
  22. That's some cool lore without bringing up spoilers. It's one of those things that I know of from implications, but would never think about.
  23. Great. I haven't had time to look at those yet, so this gives me an excuse
  24. Yeah, I agree that the visions can be on the nose sometimes, but Jordan does a lot of what you call the 'Sanderson style' foreshadowing too. Check out the Dusty Wheel episode on foreshadowing in the Eye of the World. There's a lot of that you won't notice on the first read and that took me by surprise when Mati or Badger brought it up.
