  1. An artyfacte of yore that voyages 'round the globe, yet stays in a little corner. What it be?
  2. Could have been an excuse, could have been genuine error. I'm leaning towards genuine error, but I will admit that we don't really have much to go off of.
  3. This explains why you were commenting on chaotic playstyles. I thank you for explaining your reasoning. It seems understandable. However, given that you did not post this earlier, this could be an excuse written after the fact to explain your vote. I do not suspect you as of yet, but you have been noted.
  4. This is quite possibly the worst outcome. We are in the same state as last cycle except we are down a player. An analysis of every post made last cycle [since there weren't that many, thankfully] 1 Araris: Stabs Elkanah 2 Gears: Laments village status. Analyses roles. 3 Matrim: Exists. 4 Araris: Banter 5 Sart: Asks about gaining metal. Votes Gears for lamenting village. 6 Straw: Answers the peasants 7 Matrim: Claims vanilla [suboptimal] 8 Gears: Claims elim 9 Elandera: Exists 10 Araris: Claims, even vanillas, are not helpful 11 Matrim: Didn't realise. Reclaims Coinshot [probably joke]. Pokes Vapor 12 Joe: Follows Sart in voting Gears [repeating reasoning] 13 Gears: Reclaims elim 14 Joe: Revotes Gears 15 Gears: Eulogy 16 Joe: Wasn't double voting 17 Vapor: Exists, votes Gears [no reasoning] 18 Gears: Further nonsensical ramblings. 19 Matrim: Was going to remove poke but doesn't like lack of reasoning. 20 Araris: Thinks Gears is wrong 21 Gears: Joking 22 Illwei: Thinks Gears is being too risky for an elim. Votes Matrim for vanilla claim. 23 Matrim: Was stupid for claiming, even if slightly miffed 24 Silber: Exists 25 Araris: Doesn't understand joke 26 Elkanah: Self-votes [joke?] 27 Joe: Notes people who haven't posted 28 Sorana: Exists 29 Gears: Reasoning 30 Sorana: Shut up, Gears 31 Elandera: Votes Vapor for bandwagoning 32 Matrim: Agrees with Sorana, Gears NAI 33 Gears: Votes Vapor for shoddy reasoning 34 STINK: Votes Gears for weird reasoning and feeding a dead horse 35 Gears: Clarifies assumption. Fatalistic opinions 36 Matrim: Thinks vote tied 37 Illwei: Chaos = bad 38 Elandera: Gears lynch because of defensiveness 39 Matrim: Missed Vapor's vote 40 Araris: Playstyle ~. Help team? 41 Sorana: Doesn't like Gears's attempted playstyle. Votes Joe 42 Elandera: Sorana's vote non-commital 43 Sorana: Follows Elandera's advice, retracts Joe, votes Vapor [no reasoning] 44 Illwei: No traction on Matrim lynch, so retracts Matrim, votes Gears [no reasoning] 45 xino: Votes Gears to avoid tie and gut. [no/little reasoning] 46 Matrim: Wasn't a tie, doesn't like the Gears lynch. 47 Elkanah: Retracts Elkanah, votes Vapor because they like Gears 48 Araris: Votes Vapor and ties the lynch [differs from standard] Given that I claimed elim, I understand that people would be less forthcoming with reasoning, but Vapor and Illwei voted on Gears with no reasoning and Joe and xino voted on Gears with repeated/gut reasoning. Sorana voted Vapor with no reasoning [other than mentioning that they seemed slightly more suspicious than Gears] and Elkanah voted Vapor because they wanted to keep Gears around. Araris's vote is particularly significant because it is a deviation from Araris's established playstyle of wanting a D1 lynch. However, I do not see why Araris would do this. If I'm a villager, they have no stake in the lynch. If I'm an elim, they would take suspicion when I die. If this is an attempt at pocketing, it is heavy-handed. As such, I do not think Araris is an elim.
  5. Voting has not commenced yet. See the original post for a schedule. Currently, we are in the campaign phase.
  6. You RP your dramatic demise and with your last words, call your second forwards.
  7. Seconds take over when you are killed.
  8. Noted, assuming VP = second. To everyone: I have edited a timeline into the original post.
  9. Selection: "The action or fact of carefully choosing someone or something as being the best or most suitable" Leader: "The person who leads or commands a group, organisation, or country" Hegemony: "Leadership or dominance, especially by one country or social group over others" World: "The earth, together with all of its countries, peoples, and natural features" Selection of the Leader of the Hegemony of the World: The action or fact of carefully choosing someone or something as being the best or most suitable of the person who leads or commands a group, organisation, or country of the leadership or dominance, especially by one country or social group over others of the earth, together with all of its countries, people, and natural features.
  10. "Sure," the Anarchist said. "Some enterprising individual is at the place already, but the rest of these people could use the information." For some reason, Ms. Adama seemed nervous about this "objective". Was this a rare instance of what people called a "conscience"? How fascinating to see one in the wild. Most people discarded theirs before engaging in acts of mass destruction, but it seemed that Ms. Adama was one of the rare few who were genuinely upset by such occurrences.
  11. It is the Selection of the Leader of the Hegemony of the World. First, we nominate people. Then nominees campaign. Then we have the election. See original post for a list of current nominees
  12. All of the outcomes are good for me, not necessarily the village. Getting lynched as a villager allows me to laugh at the odd thinking of the general populace. Getting lynched as an elim will make it more difficult for the village since statistically, when an elim is caught D1, it's harder for the village. Not getting lynched is strictly beneficial for me, and in the villager scenario that also helps the village. My death is now guaranteed. It seems that the strategy of claiming elim is suboptimal. Repeated iterations might help. Experimentation necessary. This strategy usually works in live games, but the utility function needs adjustment since the time scale until a new game is much higher. Post-mortem, inspect those who have voted on me without reasoning [so not Sart]. There's really not much to look at. Have fun. School starts soon, so my engagement levels would have dropped anyways. Farewell, compatriots. Know that the shattered timeline is your responsibility. I would recommend duct tape and a few quilts.
  13. Affirmative. Vapor. You are leaping upon the reasoning of others. While this is quite possible shoddy reasoning from both of us, it is C1. There isn't much we can figure out, and not dying C1, while less funny, does seem fun. Ties result in no death, and while I wouldn't like there to be no lynch [complete waste of cycle, elims get a kill], it is early yet.
  14. I believe the error in communication is my strange, esoteric sense of humour. I do not know about the general populace's thoughts on claiming elim, but to me, it is hilarious and most definitely not to be taken seriously. Do you not see the hilarity inherent in watching players dance around your antics? Of bantering with the people around you who may or may not be trying to kill you? I suppose you don't, but trust me when I say that I find this quite funny. I analysed this in QF46, but I shall repeat my reasoning again. If I am a villager and you believe me: I get lynched, like now. I get to laugh from the dead doc, and your reactions will be hilarious. If I am elim and you believe me: Well, the gambit failed and I'll get lynched. I'll laugh from the dead doc because catching an elim D1 makes it more difficult, statistically. If I am villager and you don't believe me: I don't get lynched and continue about my day as if it had never happened. If I am an elim and you don't believe me: I don't get lynched and I'm written off slightly as no one would claim elim when they are an elim. This works best with repeated successive village games since people would be tired of lynching a person only for them to be village. Considering my continuous village streak, perhaps this will be successful. However, I may or may not continue this. I just saw an opportunity to test out my ploy [suspicion levels higher than norm, no one else up for the lynch] and took it. Obviously, I am taken far too seriously for it to work. Is it my formal manner of speaking? Is it my proper grammar? Should I channel my inherent little wilson?
  15. You do understand that I'm joking, yes? If I'm going to be lynched C1, I'd rather have an interesting demise with appropriate RP that I'll be writing up later. C1 lynches are going to have shoddy reasoning, so I was probably going to get lynched anyways.
  16. Wonderful! I've never been lynched C1 before! I support this decision wholeheartedly, though post-mortem I recommend examining Joe [jumped on Sart's explanation without mentioning anything], Vapor [did what Joe did], and Sart [though a little less since he's right] though I don't have any strong suspicions either way. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some questions to ask the GM in the privacy of my GM PM.
  17. You do already have a vote on me, Joe. Is this just emphasis or are you genuinely voting twice on me? If the latter, I greatly appreciate your efforts and offer you a celebratory cookie that may or may not be spiked, three knives to the back, and my grandmother's knitting needles. However, I do not believe this is allowed. If your skull truly pains you, you can express your frustrations in a healthier way, like murdering skaa and bringing down civilisations. You don't need to vote twice. Honestly, the audacity involved in voting twice. Imagine the horror! Also, my vocal complaints have been occurring for several games, dead docs, and other mediums that I do not remember. I do not recall this being an object of consideration. If you wish to slaughter me, I give my full and enthusiastic consent. Let's mess up the timeline even more! My previous RP character died twice, and this one is dating one of my Alleyverse characters in the modern era. A tradition, as it were, of completely complicating the chronology. Hopefully I can singlehandedly get the dead doc to exorbitantly long, though considering school starts on the 17th, maybe I won't be able to. As the accusations laid against me are not things I can alter, I shall instead speak of random things for a paragraph to pad out my post. I am an Allomancer of great power and responsibility. This may or may not be just a reference. Given that I received suspicion in a previous game for wanting to claim elim and I've received suspicion for claiming villager, I do think I shall simply claim elim in future games to avoid this conundrum. Keep that in mind, general populace. I do not wish to explain myself yet again. The light at the end of the tunnel is an approaching train. You are on the tracks. Fear not. [Be afraid]
  18. You cannot drop out. However, these possibilities are not mutually exclusive. You can run as a nominee and as a nominee's employee.
  19. Did you not see the post where I celebrated being an elim? Let me do it in RP to properly drill it into your skull. Malcolm was bored. Though he'd been really looking forward to becoming an Obligator, he couldn't get spiked until he killed all the skaa. So dull. He'd signed up for this thing to get away from all that doldrum. Maybe he could break up the monotony by loudly proclaiming himself to be a skaa. Yeah, that sounded fun. He stood up, dragged over a chair, and stood on that to get the elevation he needed to be seen by all. "Attention fellow firsties! I am a skaa. You may be surprised by my bold claim, but I know something you don't. Firstly, killing a non-skaa will upset the higher-ups since it will eliminate a potential Obligator. Secondly, there are more skaa than myself, and if you kill me, I won't be able to tell you the names of my compatriots. Thirdly, I'm bored and probably lying to you because incentivising your own murder is always fun. Fourthly, I bet you couldn't kill me if you tried. Fifthly, if you kill me, I'll take a good number of you down with me. Sixthly, all of you are plebs. Seventhly, we shall destroy you eventually, so why not now? Eightly, viva la revolution!" He tossed a smokebomb into the surrounding group, hopped off his chair, and disappeared into the crowd
  20. In about 4 hours at 0:00 GMT 2020 August 16.
  21. I forgot about my plan to mislead and confuse the village by claiming elim. What a shame. I suppose claiming now would be pointless, so I'll do it anyways. I am an elim. Huzzah, praise Harmony. I am a low-down skaa-blooded individual with no right to be entering the Steel Ministry. I shall kill you all one by one in the night and there is nothing you can do about it since the roleblock and the redirect don't affect the kill. *evil laughter* Strike me down and another shall take my place. This world is nothing but pain under the Lord Ruler's rule, and you Obligators reinforce his rule. We'll bring you down, then we'll bring him down. It's only a matter of time. Fear me and my ilk, but know that we are the ones who will bring down the whole regime. [It actually would have fit my character to be an elim. He's dating the Anarchist somewhere in the timeline, and he may or may not be a professional assassin.]
  22. So Brandon Sanderson, the author himself, is not a major candidate? The creator of the cosmere is not a major candidate‽ No.
  23. Alas, my village streak continues. Ties result in no death, and there is no vote manipulation. Make sure to avoid ties so we can learn from the lynch. The following is an analysis of metals: Pewter: Protect from one kill. I would expect few vials as kill protection is valuable. If targeted with 2 kills when burning, you will still die. Note that you must burn your pewter to receive this bonus. Tin: You know one person who targeted you. I would expect many vials as learning one and only one person that targeted you seems less than useful. To question someone about why they targeted you, you must claim. Steel: A kill. I would expect few vials as a kill is valuable. Iron: A protect. I would expect few vials as a protect is valuable. If your target gets killed twice, they will still die. However, the Lurcher is vulnerable to being killed. This is announced in the write-up. Bronze: Learn if the target used a metal action [so the kill will not be known], which metal, and if they targeted someone. I would expect some vials as this is very informative but NAI. Copper: You+1 immune to brass, zinc, and bronze. I would expect few vials as this ensures an action going through. @Straw, would a Seeker scanning a person shielded by copper see them using no metal action? Brass: A roleblock [doesn't stop the kill]. I would expect some vials as this is a decent option but doesn't stop the kill. The target still loses the metal charge, so perhaps this could become a war of attrition. Zinc: A redirect [doesn't affect the kill]. I would expect some vials as this is informative but doesn't affect the kill. 2 Riots cancel each other out, so choose wisely. Gold: Tells you what targeted you. I would expect some vials as this is informative but doesn't tell you who did it. 2 actions. Conclusion: Nothing can affect the kill except for the protects. There is no vote manipulation. Nothing allows one to trace an action to a person. This will be difficult. Malcolm Anerchis was new to the Steel Ministry. He hadn't even gotten his spikes yet. However, according to the higher-ups, there were skaa in the class. Before anyone got their spikes, the skaa had to be eliminated. He was so looking forward to having a spike for an eye, so he began to ponder methods of catching skaa. However, he came up short. Gold allowed one to know what was affecting you, but not what caused it. Bronze detected if someone was using metals, not who they were using them on, and it couldn't even detect those filthy skaa's kill. Tin told who targeted you, but not what they did, and if the kill targeted you, obviously you'd be dead. It seemed that Iron usage could protect someone else from the skaa and be publicly known, but again, the instigator was unknown. Multiple metals would have to be used in conjunction, but none of them were Mistborn. Would they have to trust each other? He shuddered at the thought, but couldn't think of any other ideas.
  24. Define "major candidates". A list of all nominees is in the original post.
  25. Chaos responded to the PM I sent him in which I regaled him with a ketek and challenged him to a duel on Archer's behalf. He thanked me for the ketek and told me to never invite him to participate in Forum Games and Random Stuff again.
