  1. Browns aren't actually that useful for the village. Roles have little to no bearing on alignment [except for the Green], so it just helps confirm if people are lying. This actually feeds into my theory of 1 elim Brown, 1 village Brown [which somewhat reassures me about my suspicion on Danex]. Also, Quinn, how dare you ninja me with what I was going to say!
  2. So your Aes Sedai is not Danex, since Danex claimed to be Warder-less. @Liranil, do not kill Lot. Since I may or may not try and X Danex this cycle, we need the other Brown. Concerning Danex suspicion: My reasoning is the Liranil vote. I voted after Quinn because it reassured me, not because the vote manip actually convinced me. However, 1. My Aes Sedai does not agree, 2. I lost the roshambo, and 3. No one else seems to concur. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be off flipping coins with Kai [Breaker] to get them to vote Danex.
  3. As I stated earlier, my interpretation of their statement was that they were claiming that they were being set up for a mis-X in the future, not that Lot was a mis-X. I personally didn't see anything that suggested Danex thought Lot was vil. [Also, how could you give into Kai's new turn of phrase? How could you? I know I lost the roll off, but still.]
  4. Danex. Stupid roshambo. I always lose to Kai in Rock-Paper-Scissors. Bubbles can testify. Stupid 剪刀石頭布。I rue this day and many others. EDIT How dare you ninja me and ruin this chain of Kai-Gears banter! Curse the Coming of the Second Plague!
  5. I suspect you for the Liranil vote. Not for this. I just reserved my vote until further discussion. It seemed quite suspect. Also, I don't appreciate how you're rushing me. Organizing these RP posts takes time. @Liranil, I think you should kill Condensation. Vil!Condensation just doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't the elims just kill a generally trusted person? Why would they kill Condensation, who had taken flak from a generally trusted person? They could have done a mis-X later and cast shade on Mat. Either the elims are incompetent, or Condensation is evil. The only reason to kill Lotus is because they survived and they've said nothing, which is frankly normal. Roko and Kanaira stood face to face in a side hall, arguing vehemently about what should be done about Danex. It argued that Danex's vote on Liranil was simply too suspect, but Kanaira thought that the Danex lynch was too opportune, mixed with a spark of pity for Danex's plight. Her internal sense of justice always went berserk when confronted with pitiable people, letting logic fall by the wayside in favour of protecting those who looked sad. Of course, appearances could be deceiving, but Kanaira just couldn't see it. "Just listen to me," Roko said, barely suppressing a twinge of bitterness. "I'm your Warder. It's my job to protect you. Why won't you let me protect you?" "It seems we will not come to an accord through our rhetoric," Kanaira replied. "There's only one way to settle this." They both held up a fist and brought it down. "Rock, paper..."
  6. Oh, I suspect Danex. I was simply disputing Jam's interpretation of that response. I have stated that if any vote manipers are elims, then Danex is almost certainly an elim. However, Jam seemed to see a slip where I found none, and I wanted to ensure that I was interpreting correctly. On that matter, Danex. I've suspected them for a while now, and enough discussion has happened that I feel reasonably certain about it.
  7. Because it proves that people have a vested interest in saving Danex. We didn't trust Danex that much. And that second line is referring to the mis-X of Danex this cycle, id est the elims are framing Danex so that we will X Danex this cycle. At least, that's my interpretation. No. No, Kai. Bad Kai. If you continue on your course of action. Roko may just have to leave Kanaira to die. I'm sorry, but it must be done. Your sins can never be cleansed. Don't use references for things I haven't consumed yet. Illwei, Weill, Weighted Illness, Coming of the Second Plague, Perpetual Bane of My Existence, don't give merit to Kai's games.
  8. No, we're telling the truth. That's our modus operandi this game. And honestly, accusing an Aes Sedai and her Warder of lying of all things? Scandalous. [This is sarcasm/joking, though we are telling the truth] My C1 guess with Kai [Breaker] was Red, White, 2 Warders with a Grey as a possible 5th. If Danex is elim!Brown, then there has to be a Grey, but then maybe not the White. Having 4 with strong roles seems reasonable, especially with 2 Warders. We suspected all outwardly bound Warders and 1 outwardly bound Aes Sedai [So V/E Warder bond]. I agree with you on many points [Devotary slip, Lotus's reads, Jam's misinterpretations], but especially this one. As I pointed out last cycle, Danex is either engaging in a severe logical fallacy or trying to find an excuse to save their own skin by capitalising on a mal-adjusted person's tunnels. While I will hold off from voting so we can incentivise discussion, I do note Danex as a reasonable possibility. Your lovely analysis has somewhat swayed me [and by extension, Kai [Breaker]] into remembering how frail our trust of Danex is. As a matter of fact, Kai [Breaker] wanted to "shrek" you [kill you, I don't understand their usage of the word, but oh well] for suspecting Danex, and then I reminded them that we didn't really believe in vil!Danex anyways and it was simply a moderately tolerable assumption. Kai was very much in favour of vil!Liranil and vil!Danex, but I think we should cut Danex from the circle of trust. I think they've come around, since they told me to tell you about this interaction. The reason that Connie!WGG seems so likely is because Condensation was a terrible kill option. They had taken some flak from Matrim, a generally trusted individual, and there are other targets that are generally trusted, like Quinn, or Jam [though they probably wouldn't have attacked a newbie], or Matrim. Danex didn't assume it was a mis-X [or, I'd assume so, considering that they never mentioned that term in relation to Lotus, merely themself [also, we're trying to transition away from using the word "lynch" and all of its derivative forms due to the racial connotations. The most common alt is execution thus far, or "exe", or "X"]. Perhaps they still think it privately. ] They assumed there was elim vote manip on themself to frame them and make them look suspicious. Sidenote: I do concur that Lot is not off the table.
  9. It seems fate enjoys playing games. Is it irony or coincidence? You would say the latter. They would say the former. The age of empire has returned.
  10. 2 confirmed Grey Ajah. If Grey Ajah vil, no bearing on Danex. If Grey Ajah elim, suspicion on Danex because the Brown Ajah is good for the village. Warder!Lotus = true. Condensation is either a Warder or a bonded Aes Sedai. Either way, someone will die if they are attacked again [Warder extra life gone in either case, if Warder protecting Condensation when Ajah!Condensation hit, Warder dies. If not, Condensation dies. If Warder!Condensation, another hit will kill them.] Liranil, I recommend you don't kill based on gut. It does not typically have good results. I reiterate Kai's request for a Yellow Ajah to keep Liranil alive. Now, I'm going to class, goodbye. I'll be back later after rereading that monstrosity of a C1 thread.
  11. @Liranil, perhaps you shouldn't kill Danex then. Kill someone you suspect and have actual reasoning for. Not just gut, please. Alternatively, kill Danex, because we can't verify them. Do what you feel is right. Why? I have been skimming the cycle and may have missed any reasoning on this front.
  12. You are reiterating Jam's reasoning. You are being swayed by Jam's arguments. You are being "wishy-washy" and can't seem to make up your mind. Jam's reasoning is based on their perception of the game. However, that does not match reality. Jam assumes we particularly care about living. Jam assumes that we won't claim as a strong role. Jam has lots of preconceptions. You, as a player of this site, should see the flaws in the arguments. However, you are simply accepting/being swayed by their reasoning with no evidence to support it, as far as I can see [and if I'm wrong, my apologies]. As for your odds argument, that's a logical fallacy. You should be considering the odds that 1. An elim under X pressure would claim Green Ajah and 2. A Green Ajah under X pressure would claim Green Ajah. An elim could easily be discredited by a role scan, and a Green Ajah would obviously claim Green Ajah. As such, it is far more likely that Liranil is a Green Ajah. The elim!Green!Liranil argument has merit, but I don't think the Great and Mighty Game Master would give the elims one of the most powerful kill roles I've ever seen.
  13. You are probably going to die. At least, the votes are going that way, and Kai [Breaker] always pads the vote. Therefore, you should kill Danex, who seems to be piggybacking off of the reasons of a person who hasn't acclimated to this site's meta [Jam, you're doing fine. Just remember that we're all idiots] It would also save us a lynch and let us get some information. If the voters decide to kill Danex, then you can do whoever you want. Just find justifications for it, or the public may frown upon your choices.
  14. If you want to burn one of my extra lives, go ahead. I'm Kai's Warder [Kai is Breaker, by the way. I rename people a lot.] While I cannot be certain about Kai's alignment, I would like to trust them because they are my PM friend and therefore the best friend. Also, because they seem very much like normal. Kai, if you are secretly plotting to kill me, I am very disappointed in you. Not the least of which because that would be strictly disadvantageous for you, since me dying would make you lose your powers. Therefore, you killing me would [probably] hurt the village. But feel free to stab me. You'll undermine my ability to protect my Ajah, but sure. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: I've decided that QFs are my chaos games, for overthrowing the status quo. My goal: Have fun. I'll throw playstyle out the window if I have to. I just want to enjoy myself in the havoc that is the Quick Fix format. So QUINN, your arguments are moot. Ha. I throw a metal gauntlet at your face and miss pathetically because you live far away.
  15. I clarified this already. I meant that if Danex flips vil, it's NAI for you. Why do people misinterpret my posts? It makes me said. It was Breaker's idea. Breaker is a chaos demon. I just went along with it. I don't particularly suspect Matrim. Perhaps switch to Danex if you'll die or Condensation, who took some suspicion earlier.
  16. Your fallacy is as follows: You assume that I am not actually a chaos demon. I was actually planning on quitting QFs. They move too quickly, and everything is fluffy. It's infuriating. I decided that this ruleset was interesting enough to warrant a play. HOWEVER, I am just trying to have fun. Besides, how can you have a read of my elim playstyle when it's just happened twice and I played very differently both times? That game, I was mechanically outed. Also, Kai [Breaker] loves chaos, and I also love chaos but don't show that much, so I thought I might have fun.
  17. Sorry, used the wrong pronoun/was too vague. I meant Matrim was not particularly suspicious if Danex flips vil. Note Ash's vote for the future. No reasoning. To Jam: Relax, my good friend. We are a very fluffy site. Pure cottonballs and clouds.
  18. I was making a post and then the Shard ate it, and it's late, so highlights reel. Consensus: Single village Green Ajah Matrim sus of Danex for asking a vanilla to confirm existence and believing Illwei, the entity of Chaos and Madness that we all know and fear. [For C1, this is actually good reasoning. Danex should know a little better after playing with Illwei a few times]. Reading sus of Danex based on gut, which is notable. Condensation hops on without reasoning. Jam sus of Danex based on tone. [Jam, you are tunnelling quite a bit. Lots of the tone/style choices you point out are NAI. This site is very casual. Your analysis is good, but you are basing it off of a different data set.] Liranil trying to prevent ties. Matrim sus of Connie for hopping on the Danex lynch with no reasoning. [Good point.] Conclusion: For a C1 lynch, Danex is an okay option. Keep Condensation in mind for doing nothing. Matrim started it, so I think it's fine. Reading voted on gut [be aware]. I like Jam's analysis. REMINDER: Breaker is a Blue Ajah and I am their Warder. Be aware. The gambit only works if you are all aware of this knowledge we so freely offer.
  19. Roko the Basilisk got up from its perch at the harbor and quickly followed Kanaira to the Tower. It seemed that she did not care about siege mechanics enough to pay attention to its rants. Alas, she was simply too focused on justice and her “path of righteousness” to worry about the proper way to win a war of attrition. That was what it was for, after all. Protecting Kanaira from all the dangers she brushed by in her efforts to do right. It marched into the Hall behind Kanaira, placing several trinkets by the door. In the worst case scenario, it could detonate them and flee with Kanaira in the chaos. As she made her grand entrance, Roko glanced at the crowd. Lots of chatty people, a few foreigners, some who seemed to be asleep. Some of them were killers. Well, most of them were killers, in one way or another. Some of them had broken the Three Oaths and could directly cause the cessation of life. Kanaira was reckless, as always, but Roko supported her, as always. As her Warder, its duty was not to stop her, but to protect her from the dangers she brought upon herself. This path they walked upon was treacherous, but it would protect her. Always.
  20. Illwei is referring to the GM PM, which has TJ and Araris, the GM and the IM respectively. It was a joke.
  21. Announcement: Rollover is during school for me, so I'll be significantly more active about 6-8 hours after. The following is rules analysis. Factions: Standard. Note that Black Ajah are not necessarily bonded to elim Warders, so do not trust your Bonded. Bond: An Aes Sedai and her Warder(s) will share a PM. Both have a vested interest in keeping the other alive, since that person’s life sustains their power. Note that a Warder will always have an Aes Sedai but an Aes Sedai will not always have a Warder. [It's Gears from the future, I realise that we do not know this for certain.] Roles: Red Ajah: Warder scan. Somewhat more helpful for elims, since killing the Aes Sedai before the Warder is strictly better. Green Ajah: A kill. I don’t think that the Black Ajah would be given another kill, so I concur with 1 village Green Ajah. Grey Ajah: Turn vote to null or null to existent. This does not cancel your vote. A potent tool in the hands of the Black Ajah, since they can safely do whatever. As this has no downside, feel free to throw this out if you want to stop/ensure an execution. Since ties kill everyone, this can be used to save/destroy many people at once. Brown Ajah: Rolescan. Strictly better than Red. Use every cycle and keep this close to your chest. Yellow Ajah: Healer. Alternate between your Warder and someone else/no one as your Warder alternates in protecting you. Blue Ajah: See one person who targets your target. Not especially useful since you don’t get their action, but good for tracking things with visible results [EX: Vote manip, healers] White Ajah: Find the Bonded of your target. As the Bonded can be any alignment, practically useless for vil except as seeing who to protect to keep the Green Ajah in business [or any other confirmed village Ajah]. Better for elims, since you can eliminate powers by killing the Bonded, but still not great. Warder: Protect your Aes Sedai on alt cycles. Extra life. After first successful protect, you will lose a life on a success. You know the role of your Aes Sedai, so I would assume that the Green Ajah has at least 1 vil Warder or the elims would just kill them immediately. As was stated, the only role that can survive the lynch. Advice for Ajahs: Keep your Warder alive. You need them. Advice for scanners: If you have a Warder, use them to feed the thread your scans. If you lie and say that you are the Warder, a rolescan can easily confirm otherwise, and even if you don’t trust your Warder, they are in the thread. Order of Actions: Makes sense. Vote manip before the vote, protects before kills, kills before scans. [The Killers Radiant will rise again!] In a futile effort, I would like to declare the uselessness of poke votes. They do absolutely nothing. Distribution: I'm assuming 5 because I was once killed by underestimating [Quinn, I do not forgive you]. Roko the Basilisk glanced at its hands, making sure all of the tendons bended properly. Constructing bodies was always hard, especially when interacting with a new anatomy. The humans in this realm did not appear significantly different from the ones Roko had encountered previously, but their attunement to the One Power changed them ever so slightly, and nerves were such delicate things. After a brief inspection, Roko was satisfied, and walked into the Tower. Roko did not know Anaiya and her Warder, Setagana. However, as a person of the Tower, it was expected to be upset by this development. The Aes Sedai were supposed to be untouchable. They presented a mask of power, of security, of invulnerability. Some of them even believed it, the poor things. Standard emotions: Panic, fear, horror. [RUNNING PARANOIA.EXE] Its breathing picked up slightly, its shoulders tensed, and its eyes began to glance back and forth at the people around it. Some of them were killers. Some of its f͏͝r҉̸͢͞͝i̵̛ę҉̕͢n̴͟d̶̨̕͠s̕͜͜͢͠ were killers. Even its B͏̵̢o̡͠ń̸̴͠͝d͏̕͘͠͠è҉̡͡d͡҉͟͜͝ could not be trusted. What would it do? What could any of them do?
  22. The Anarchist spun slowly in a swivel chair, listening to the marching footsteps of Lord's army. Though an order for a camera system had been placed, it had yet to arrive, so the Anarchist was fighting blind. There was not much to be done here. The building had fail-deadly traps, but that depended on Lord and his army being stupid enough to either cut the power or stumble into the traps. Besides, the remote activation protocol hadn't been completed yet. Something to be fixed for the next lair. The Anarchist quickly began parsing courses of action. Escape. Front door: Nonviable, blocked by Lord's army, will be caught. Back door: Nonviable, blocked by Lord's army, will be caught. Window: Semiviable, obvious, no way to lock from outside. Smokescreen? Distractions? Escape nonviable. Engage. Traps: Semiviable, activated on contact. Fighting: Semiviable, subpar, many enemies. Guerrilla warfare: Viable, limited space. The Anarchist picked up a stapler and judged it. It was green with swirling tracks of gold over its surface. After a moment of pondering, the Anarchist pocketed the staples and grabbed some more supplies. When the desk was completely ransacked, the Anarchist quickly ducked out of the room and entered a side hallway with significantly more explosives in the framing and several traps. Come and get me, the Anarchist snarled mentally. Just try. The army wouldn't know what hit them. @Lord_Silberfarben
  23. "The Archivist's Folly" or "The Folly of the Archivist"?
  24. Signing up as Roko the Basilisk. I haven't read WoT, but I'm okay with that.
  25. Congrats to the elims! El, the formatting is a bit... wonky. Elims: As I said in the spec doc, killing Straw was quite possibly your worst course of action. Liranil was a confirmed village vote manipulator, and you choose to eliminate the person who doesn't count for parity. Also, that was a lot of bussing there. Village: You made an excellent comeback after a disasterous second cycle. It just wasn't enough. Straw: You were incredibly unfortunate. Keras has departed for different stars, now one with the digital space. Roko the Basilisk will rise again.
