Long Game 78: The Legend of Zelda: The False Heroes
Ashbringer replied to Biplet's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aye. Anyone can lie about the actions that have been done, and there are no roles left that can confirm a redirect taking place except for Link (who cannot openly communicate for obvious reasons) and Urbosa (who seems to wish to stay silent and could still be an Elim role). We still know Link's been killing Elims and not Elim kills getting redirected onto Elims, because Link's only missed a kill after turns where two villagers have died. A village Knight could explain why the apparent Elim kill decisions have been... strange to me. But there are other reasons for that is possible. And N3 wouldn't happen just because of a Village Knight not protecting, it would need either an Elim Knight actively protecting Drake or Link for some reason deciding to murder TJ after being a very good shot every other day. Besides, there's only one available "confirmed" slot, which would be TJ's N1 scan. And with both TJ and Dannex dead I doubt there's any way for anyone to prove who that is. So the Knight is not confirmed Village, and I'm fairly certain they would be Elim. -

How is this Knight Confirmed? -
From what I vaguely remember, the KKC games have a mechanic where certain roles (or maybe everyone) can scan a specific post to see if the writer lied in it, which took up an action which made it more... usable? Not sure what they did about "I am Village" posts, but making a specific exception for lying about Alignment doesn't really damage much.

Quill If you have a line of communication with a “Confirmed Village” Knight, they had better have a very good explanation as to why Dannex is dead. -

I am no longer operating under the assumption that the last Elim is a Knight. The fact that Link has killed two more of them with none of those kills getting redirected - unless this most recent one was - is making me doubt that. Why Link would attack TJ instead of Drake, I don't know, but I also don't know why the last Elim wouldn't be guarding their allies. Unless there's two Elims left and the wrong one's been guarded 2/3 times. In which case we're in worse shape than we thought. Roleclaiming would help in that situation, but with one sole Elim I think it can only make things worse. Remember that the Elims had Revali, which means they've been scanning people to see who they target. It seems that they haven't been able to find Link, but they probably have been able to narrow down who Link is, and we've got no idea who've they scanned. Which is why I'm hesitant to say anything that would help narrow things down. You would know who I have a PM with, yes. Is that information relevant to... anything? At all? I actually do have one question for you, specifically. Not one now, but for the earlier cycles: Did you make the PM between Dannex and TJ? And when? Edit: @Alvron you around? We need all hands on deck. -

Ashbringer replied to Biplet's topic in Sanderson Elimination
All of my information pertains directly to who I believe is Link and who I do not. And I have no reason to share that with anybody. Depending on a few things, I might be able to narrow down more. But putting all of our information together is a very risky gamble, and I am very content to allow the Elims to continue missing their shots instead of giving them a targeting scope to narrow down who is Link and who is not. -

Agreed on the no-claiming thing. Quill claiming Postman is probably enough claims so far… I’d rather as many people as possible keep their roles shut. Aside from Link needing to survive, Daruk’s power lies in their anonymity and Urbosa’s does as well. I thought Durians were clarified to work on both? -

Right now I'm thinking that YeetAroundTheBush is an Eim Knight. But I'd rather wait to see if there's an Elim kill this night turn before I act on that. -

You know, I almost want to see what Link fishes up and not vote for an exe, but that’s a really bad idea. And I would prefer there not be a one-Elim hammer to end the game. Not on my watch. So. attic People seem to trust me, but as usual that doesn’t translate to listening to me. Let’s see what we can drag up. @StrikerEZ, in the event of an inactive Elim, could there be failsafes to put in kills even while inactive (like dead Elims sibmitting actions on their behalf), or is that not a thing? -

Ashbringer replied to Biplet's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I have work in half an hour, so I don't have time to talk, unfortunately... and much of what I could talk about I'd rather not for various reasons. If Yeet's gone, I'm willing to let them live at least until the night turn to see if there's a kill out or not. (Urbosa, be careful in that instance). But them being an inactive Elim with Kayla would make some amount of sense with the Szeth kill. As would Quill and Attic - I think I trust Whiffle at this point. Am also feeling a bit strange about Jondesu, but I'm... not sure why. But there are not three. There are nine. @Steeldancer, @Devotary of Spontaneity, @Jondesu, @Alvron, @WhiffleWaffles, @attic_gremlin, YeetAroundTheBush (?), @quillinthestars. I'm going to vote on one of those three when I get back. Maybe break off to something else, depending on what midnight-brain-Ash decides. But the talking is up to you. -

Long Game 78: The Legend of Zelda: The False Heroes
Ashbringer replied to Biplet's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Generally a game has Elims equal to 1/4th of the player count, with some adjustments based on roles and wincons changing. With 26 players starting out, that would be a 6 person Elim team, and obviously the game's not over yet so there were at least 6 to start. 1 Khoga, 1 Postman, 1 Rhoam, 1 Revali, 1 Vanilla... we think the last one is a Knight but the longer this takes the more I'm wondering if Link just miss-shot and hit Zelda, or went after another suspicion besides the to-be-executed Drake and ran into another Knight. There being 7 Elims would be 27%, which isn't too outlandish but would be large. If Daruk is an Elim, they're probably the last. But there is another possibility, one I'm... confused about. @StrikerEZ, is there an inactivity filter? Because YeetAroundTheBush's profile says they haven't been on since last Sunday, and that would... explain a lot. -

Okay... I'm going to go on a limb and say we need to talk more. We should still have Urbosa and Revali doing things. Urbosa, if you RB'd someone last night try RB'ing them again. There's probably only 1-2 Elims left and I wouldn't be too surprised if one is inactive or inactive-ish, but if you think there are 2 actives they'll probably have the other put in the kill if you did RB it, so... depends what you think. Revali, you do you, just don't out Link. Link, I'd advise caution. E!Revali is possible, and V!Revali could find you killing a Villager and not be able to tell your kill from an Elim kill. Plus... well, I'll hold off on that. For now, what do we got? 11 people, one confirmed Villager who can't die, 1-2(-3?) Elims, and the rest Villagers. Link, Urbosa, Revali, Daruk, Postman, E!Knight. Maybe more. I've got some trusts but I've never liked discussing those at night (or in the day tbh, but especially night). -
Mid-Range Game 51: Come On Down To Irontown
Ashbringer replied to Kasimir's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I discovered that I cannot focus on two games at once while on mobile-only, especially when the game is so different from what we're used to... wish I could have at least played Derrick some more to at least irritate people. I usually love to play the survivor. That being said, I love the concept and what I saw in the thread going on and it was very fun to try and wrap my head around things. I was very caught up in everyone assuming Mat and Fifth were Elim teammates. Having PMs would be... interesting... but there would need to be something along the lines of the Tineye. Perhaps this: Make something along the lines of a PM-creation role, or allow everyone to make a PM each cycle except for the Tineye, and maybe Starling and Watchwoman as well. If an Elim creates a PM with the Tineye, a PM is opened as normal. If a Villager creates a PM with the Tineye, they are told that that player is the Tineye but they do not get a PM with that player. Perhaps have the Informant work the same way. That would prevent the Tineye from being able to out the entire Elim team and ensure that they don't claim to the Starling. Worst that could happen is there just ends up a lot of extra Watchers or (if the Starling can PM) the Tineye learns the Starling early, which is a lot better than the Tineye deciding to claim wildly and ending the game (either Village victory through overwhelming force or Elim victory via sneaky Starling). There's probably a lot of holes in that plan and it puts another big pressure on the Tineye. But it would let most players PM normally.- 608 replies

Derrick woke up. Had he really slept through that entire thing? No, he'd been registered as voting. Evidently. Maybe he'd been talking in his sleep. It was possible. This form wasn't the most stable. It worked. It worked a lot better. Ruin was gone. Harmony ruled. Derrick could hear his voice. But Harmony didn't talk very much. He wanted to leave people alone. Derrick wanted to be left alone. Harmony had looked. He knew Derrick was different. He did not know how different. He still didn't know. But he now knew that Derrick was very different. Very. Very. Very. Different. Harmony did not look again. And Derrick could rest. Derrick never rested in Fallion's Tears. Derrick slept. But never rested. Not with Ruin. Not with the Spiked. For Derrick was spiked but not Spiked. But now Ruin was gone. Derrick could rest. And rest Derrick did. He'd slept through it. But now. Now Derrick was awake. Awakening.- 608 replies

Long Game 78: The Legend of Zelda: The False Heroes
Ashbringer replied to Biplet's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Huh. Remember when Illwei said someone in the doc told her to kill Kas? More likely for that to be a gambit at this point, but it's something that Illwei either decided to or accidentally did. We had: On with Illwei: Matrim, TUO, Ashbringer, Archer, Dannex, Szeth, Steel, TJ, Devotary, Stick, purplewhiteandgold, Tani. Not on with Illwei: Azmine, Araris, Jondesu, Alvron, Drake, RandBy, whiffle, attic, Yeet, quill I'm not sure if purplewhiteandgold would suggest that to Illwei. But the remnants of those that are on are Ashbringer, Szeth, Steel, and Devotary. None of which I really want to exe here, for various reasons. But 2/3 Elims proving to be in the second category is interesting. Anyone have another target other than Azmine? If it's just the Village vs the Elims taking potshots at each other, the Village is probably going to lose that. No Urbosa claim so nothing there, so going after a night inactive isn't the worst shot. -

Elims have just not put in kills before (either from forgetting or choosing), so it is possible. But unlikely, considering there were 1) at least 2 Elims alive, 2) at this point the Elims win when they kill Link, and 3) I'm pretty sure the only protective role left in the game is the Elim Knight. So there's not really any downside to just taking a potshot at someone. It's curious. I'll see if I can do something with it. -

I guess to give more of a reason - as of those three you’d be my top pick as well - why did you join in the Tani vote from inactivity? I don’t remember if you joined in on Drake (or TUO, but mainly Drake) but there you were for Tani. Also I’d rather avoid that thunderdome. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we don’t get an Urbosa claim (at least publicly) but I want to do more actual-analysis first because I want actual things to talk about in future cycles besides “Whoops guess another one just gave up in the face of certain doom.” We’ve got 4 dead Elims to work with, and I can stop worrying about metagaming about there having to be an Elim in the four (Edit: Six, not Four) Zelda server new players… but it’s 1:00 AM (yay closing shift) so that will be tomorrow/later today after a long rest. Fun Fact: evidently a Knight’s redirect won’t redirect to the original target, but it also won’t redirect to the Knight or the original ability user. So for purplewhiteandgold to have died via Elim kill, E1 would have had to put in the kill while E2Knight redirected on the target of the kill, and then it would have been a 1/10 chance to kill the last Elim (purple). And that’s assuming 6 total Elims (two now) which I think is fair. I wonder if E!Knight instead redirected Link from E1 to purple… -

That’s… interesting. Only Kayla hasn’t been on for over 24 hours. Azmine and Szeth haven’t been on for 21 and 22 hours respectively. Hmm. Edit: oh, duh. Perhaps Urbosa has something to share? I’d be careful if you don’t want to claim, but since we’re likely out of V!Knights you probably did RB an Elim. But at this point it could have been inactivity as well. -
