Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
See I haven't read KKC so my brain autocorrects it to Sith assassin... which seems somehow less terrifying even though it should be arguably more to me If nothing else, Essal will probably be my RP character if/when KKC happens again might write something up in here too, hopefully I'll have some time. -

Ah. Yeah Fae Lore being a super-roleblock vs a normal roleblock confuses me still. Maybe we can fix that at some point They are both Masters, technically, and I'd imagine even human Issal has a lot that he could talk about even besides "I need to spend 6 months in Medica because an assassin shredded me" -
Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, that was the plan would have done it a turn sooner, but I spent half that turn frantically trying to nail down how RB interactions worked, learned that no, I would need Archer to get recalled anyway, and then also learned I would be working during rollover. So I just sent in a Sabotage and stuck with the lie. I think if you had roleblocked me as well, then I could have roleblocked the Soothe through the paradox. As the clarifications stood I could only roleblock Archer’s Banned Books, which didn’t exactly help me. At all. I was also heavily considering RPing terms of my surrender so we wouldn’t all have to theoretically go through a mess of Assassins, Grams, and Horse+Fours until I finally died or somehow killed everyone -

I was legitimately very confused on why you weren’t having Wonko do Naming things I had forgotten that that Ability Loss was a thing, and when I did remember I thought it meant you lost an Elevation and not one random action. Also it was clarified to us in-doc at some point that we would need to kill JNV and Wonko again because they were no longer Insane, really. (If Daybreak had gone through, maybe we wouldn’t have, but they both escaped naturally.) -

I just think it’s impressive that I managed to be Roleblocked sending in the Elim Sabotage three times before I got killed It was fun! But our team definitely got the short end of the stick… several times over. Glad Issal (and Essal) are still around, that could be fun. I never got to do my Openwolf RP… because I decided to spin an elaborate story about E!Archer instead… -

I mean, I get it. The odds of E!Archer rolling a roleblock in Banned Books is very low, odds he had a teammate and more than one Nahlrout are... higher, maybe, but low and still the question of 'why'. And whatever the answer is, it can't really be distinguished from Fae Lore to you guys, and still doesn't let me do any of my Alchemy things unless he's recalled and immune to things anyway. But... well, you know. Kasimir Kasimir Bring it on- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I got roleblocked. Again. Could be a few ways that could happen from Archer. One of the reasons I was concerned about Banned Books. But any situation like that is something I can't do anything about, and I've worked four closing shifts in a row and the last two went an extra half hour long for extra fun, so, fine. It just comes to my flip, nothing new. Hopefully tomorrow I have more time for RP. A lot I can do with that, I think- 692 replies

Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
… when and where did you communicate that you had Nahlrout used on me? Because I don’t/didn’t see it and that doesn’t line up with my results unless I badly misunderstand multicrafting. Anyway. I’m not going to respond to everything right now, because work break is for eating and cooling off and not for brain-wracking and it’s almost over anyway. I get that it doesn’t sound likely, it barely does to me, but it’s the only explanation I have. This plan should work, I think. Archer Archer.- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Because he has to? Archer's committed to E!me now. Archer also now has the ability to roleblock any Skindancer with Fae Lore. I don't see any world where V!Archer, knowing E!me, would make the decision to not spam me with Fae Lore. I don't think you do either. Archer would know that. For the sabotage... you're right. It doesn't make sense. But I think I have a theory. Archer probably doesn't have a living, non-expelled teammate, if only because essentially anyone as a living teammate could have won already without going through all this. That means TJ and probably one more other Elim somewhere between Steel, Araris, Mat, TKN. My guess would be one of the first two, almost definitely not TKN. I don't know when or where Archer (and I assume you) hatched the Vote Scan Plan. But it was early. From that moment on, Archer has to keep up appearances, at least with voting - but he doesn't need to put in the actions. With multiple Archive Action periods, not much else to do besides learn other players' Elevations (which got found or claimed pretty quickly) and after that, trying to learn the Name of the Wind via Banned Books wouldn't be too outlandish, or some other useful field like Physicking if that doesn't work (not sure if the ban on Naming is specifically if you're already studied in it, and thus should learn Names by Naming, or just a blanket ban). Or, just keep the actions alone and not risk getting caught until Mastery. As to why no sabotage... I think the one on T2M2 had to be a fluke, where the Elims just didn't put in a kill on accident or as some weird experiment. But, it was a productive fluke. TKN was found to be roleblocked, and the village lined up to expel him in quick fashion. That's where the plan could start. Archer would need to give you something to gain some trust, which would be a solo "red scan" on TJ. Perhaps TJ plays his part a little off to cover for being a bus. Then, you and Sart start firing off roleblocks while Archer keeps up the scan web, and wouldn't you know it, no kill went through. But once that starts, Archer can't really stop it, especially if you've been keeping up Op Sec. It would be quite awkward if Archer were to come up with an E!Stink E!Ash team the same time he sabotaged Wonko, only for both Stink and Ash to have been roleblocked while the sabotage went through. So, I guess a question - who did you tell you were roleblocking me? No one? Just Sart? Sart and Archer? Or was it Archer's idea from the start? Also, this is just a separate thing - Bone-Tar. Yeah, they're scary. They're not an unrestricted mass kill the second you let your guard down. I need to craft them ahead of time, making them is a risk to me because of the insanity penalty, they only have a 50% chance of killing any one player as opposed to an Assassin, and I can only use them to kill people en masse if you all group together in the same lodging. There's 4 non-expelled players outside of Archer and I and there's 6 different beneficial lodgings, if you're that worried about me using Bone-Tar just... spread out a bit.- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ah. That makes… more sense, I guess. E!Archer is the obvious conclusion from my perspective. I think E!TJ is true, which is weird, but honestly… well, hmmm. With E!me V!Archer, Fae Lore would shut down a lot of what I could do. V!me E!Archer, though, Fae Lore won’t do anything to me, and while Alchemy isn’t the best at killing one specific player, it could do a pretty good job of things between Plum Bobs and Bone Tar. Trick is if E!Archer’s been using all his scan time using Banned Books instead. That could be a nightmare. But E!Archer may have basically won already anyway. I’ll have to look at it more tomorrow, I need to get some sleep. (Also I never responded about the other PM thing and… that makes more sense. And ouch. Man I do not understand this ruleset.)- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
At the moment my explanation is, I’m at work and my break is almost over and I am trying to figure things out too quickly But how would Archer scan “vote manip on Ash for T3M2”? I thought those scans needed to be on past events. And my votes weren’t manipulated, they vanished because they never even counted because of my double crafting.- 692 replies

Look, I am very out of the loop. I had asked a question in my GM PM about the different scans and everything and the answer didn't exactly help me, although I think I have some idea what's happening. A little. Between STINK and Archer, I'd rather exe STINK STINK. I still don't know how I feel about Archer, but my only reason to suspect him was a tangent from TJ, and that goes a little out the window if Archer was the one who scanned TJ. And STINK's been seemingly quieter about the rise to Mastery. I'll put my DP on STINK for now. But I'm also going to try something else out. We'll see if it works.- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Just because it feels a bit wrong to see so many E!Ash scenarios and not comment on them - yes, I agree both got out quick. But I'm still standing by that it's unlikely Mat or TJ would sabotage JNV immediately. Archer repeatedly bringing it up didn't sit well with me, and no one else had pointed it out, so I mentioned it, but I didn't have any evidence for Archer and didn't have enough time to look for any and still talk about Drake's kill at all. I mentioned Mat again because that was the same turn he was expelled, and largely based on a snowball I didn't have time to understand. TJ being Elim makes sense, but I'm not going to suddenly say I thought it was him the whole time. Another thing - expelled players can't target me. Unless I'm mistaken, that includes TJ. And, unless I'm mistaken, I don't have time to reach Master this quickly and still have visited Imre any time recently. So I'm not even sure if E!me could have gotten a Gram from E!TJ. For what it's worth, I don't have a Gram. Sure, E!me could be lying, but from what I can see either someone sends an Assassin at me and it works one way or another, or I survive and I'm pretty much confirmed to be evil. (Or the Elims could pass me a Gram/Bodyguard/something as a ploy, which would be funny, but if they're in a position to waste resources that then they've probably already won.)- 692 replies

The writeup really just up and says it doesn't it. Well... I'm not entirely sure to do with this. I think the reason I didn't give my thoughts on whether or not we should expel Ash is fairly obvious. And it's hard to give thoughts when I barely have time to actually think. And I can't exactly do much with my cool Mastery abilities at the moment. Master Issal should give some good RP opportunities, at least- 692 replies

Yeah I'm... not super proud of that set of NKA. Barely had time to think about Drake, didn't do one for Wonko at all (in thread, was partially waiting for info on claims too). Haven't done a good one in a while. But I think I stand by the first part of it, I don't think TJ made the call on JNV. Who did, idk, but I still like Archer on an E!TJ team. That just doesn't explain the missing kills. Also what does MR53 have to... oh. Yeah that makes sense.- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
... well this isn't going to make any of our lives any easier, but your math is a little off. First of all, I'm not quite as good as writing essays as you are But secondly, and more importantly, there's a little tidbit in the Elevation and Master rules - if all 3 of your elevations are in a single field, you get an automatic +5 EP in that field. So, I'm at 16 EP right now. Master at the end of the turn unless it's canceled out by DP. So, uh... I guess reads-givers make a decision quick. Me becoming Master Alchemist that quickly would prove I don't have any elevations in sneaky spaces, but I don't think that matters that much. Also am I dumb or don't we still have a certain Namer?- 692 replies

Long Game 96: KKC in the Modern Age
Ashbringer replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Archer did repeatedly note that TJ and Mat decided to kill JNV early in the MR, as an argument for why he didn't read either Elim. But I thought that made a lot more sense with E!Archer E!Mat, because JNV was Mat's call in that game. Not much I can say for what I've accomplished, because I haven't accomplished much (rather obvious why) and because rules are hard.- 692 replies
