  1. Well I really am Village this time so go for it ... wait a minute.
  2. ... how am I simultaneously "playing high visibility" and "flying under the radar"? It feels accurate, seeing as I've played two games in a row with no votes on me until outing, but it's... something's weird there.
  3. I Listened At Door, and learned Illwei and Gears do not have a PM. Not sure what to make of that.
  4. Poller took a deep breath. "Alright... let's do this, then. Keep watching me." He carefully pushed the main door open. Reception looked... busy, but not too busy. Enough that there wouldn't be too many people who would overhear what he said. Unless they were trying to, which he supposed was the point. He walked over to a desk, making sure Folorian followed behind. Storms, how was he going to do this? "Er, hi," Poller said. The receptionist made a show of looking up from her papers, but she'd noticed him before. She had a tin earring on. "What can I do for you?" "My name's Poller - no last name, as... er... I'd like to check in to the Cognitive Ward," he responded. "For a few different things. I've got narcolepsy, and I've been using Feruchemical Bronze to correct it, but I fell over and whacked my head and it still feels a bit woozy... I think that's the Cognitive Ward, but I'm not entirely sure." Receptionist: noting things down, disinterested. "And... since then, I've been... I don't know how to explain it. I've had memories that I don't remember... snippets of events that I know I haven't lived. Fights against... dark things." If the receptionist found this surprising, she didn't show it - but she did make a mark in the margins of one of her forms. Then she ripped off a sheet and handed it to Poller. "Alright. Cognitive Ward's busy but we should be able to get something in today. I'll call your name when we're ready. Is this a guest?" Poller glanced over to Folorian. "He was there when I hit my head... he doesn't talk much but he wanted to help. And... I don't really have anyone else to help me." The receptionist nodded, and Poller went to go sit down, away from the other waiters. "Well, that's a start." * * * Byron had stopped watching. It wasn't as bad as the other times. If he was outside, the sun would flash on, flash off, flash on, flash off... cadmium didn't affect light, for some reason. The hospital kept the lights dim - it still hurt his open eyes, but at least it was constant. Faces flew by. They were the only thing that had changed, only marker in time. He hadn't prepared for this. He hadn't... what had happened? And then there was a face he recognized. Time seemed to stop, for once from Byron's point of view. He could see Aln standing above him, reaching down... but his bubble was still on. Within his chest instead of around him, yes, but it was there. He hadn't turned it off... so how was he seeing events that should be happening thousands of times faster? * * * Ben's shirt ruffles, but the flesh below is as cold and unmoving as stone. @Rushu42 @mathiau
  5. Technically that vote at the end was Random... Wait, no, that's not what you meant.
  6. Illwei is that a post count? Or... what is it?
  7. No, but if you secret vote that should disappear, I think.
  8. Illwei, can you vote somewhere so we know you're not Secret voting somewhere? Edit: Oh
  9. Pinch hitter slots are decided more by "who's available" and less of chance, I've found... although it could be a problem with a pinch hitter not being available. And even if RandBy doesn't flip Elim, people supporting/not supporting the exe is a decent amount of info to start, especially with a lot of night scans. 5 minutes...
  10. Well, there's ten minutes in the cycle, so if you've got another idea it needs to be soon... Edit: Also, remember the Elims almost certainly have a vote mover. If we do want to bandwagon I'd prefer one that didn't leave the exe decideable by that.
  11. That's what I mean, because that's what seems to be happening... I just don't know what's weirder, voting out someone now for being inactive, or waiting to vote them out D2 if they dodge the filter but are inactive. Normal D1 exes usually don't go off of much more than that...
  12. Hmm. It's a fair point that letting the pinch hitters maybe take their spots (if RandBy or Books... did Books post yet? I don't remember) could be better than just exing an inactive D1, but what would we do if they do come back? Like if they post N1, but are either mostly or entirely inactive D2. I don't really like taking off poke votes / activity-please votes when the target... doesn't post anything. It takes the teeth off a bit, and I don't want non-activity to be a way for an Elim to get out of an early exe without the other Elims interfering. So I'm fine sticking where I am, but if anyone has a good idea for a counter, I'll listen.
  13. Okay I double-checked and RandBy did not mention missing the first cycle in signups... like... someone may have. Just so you all know.
  14. ... I’m unsure how I feel about three votes on my vote in rapid succession We haven’t had a Contribution Crusade in a while... (And I upvoted a post just one iirc)
  15. From what I remember looking through LG60, it just added numbers (so not like my QF, but the actual voting mechanic is similar).
  16. ... a lot of small random posts with little meaning besides jokes or communication because I have the time to make them. Like what you do!
  17. ... ouch. But, I'm rather cursed to be very inactive as an Elim... usually for legitimate reasons. Although maybe because Elim!Me doesn't like to be as quippish. Still trying to figure that out. Technically I was referring to me with that "others"... good old Shadowblaze game
  18. ... pretty much this think that's happened 1.5 times so far (because AGcide was weird) I'm good at getting small suspicions off me, I guess. Until they become big suspicions and then it's a lot harder, and I just start writing death RP and go with it.
  19. ... I'm not sure to edit this in or just say *doubt* I didn't say forum Mafia... Er, noted Among Us is fairly similar, it's just you don't end up with surprise meetings and there's roles. You'll do fine many first games are a swarm of chaos for people. (Right, Mat?) I think the only thing you can't say (other than things you can't say on the forum in general, ie swears, being mean, etc) is you can't quote from PMs (or Google Docs, if you have one - Elims have one to communicate faster than PMs and sometimes they show up in other places), including your Game Master PM. You can say the information that's contained in there, but you can't say exact quotes / copy-pastes. Also, if there's an out-of-game thing you need to talk about you can use blue text. Usually that's just to say "I'm going to be inactive / non active for X reason" and not have people wondering if you're telling the truth or whether you're lying to get out of making a statement. Other than that, don't talk about the game with players out of the thread / Docs / PMs when they're open. (Talking with dead players is a bit gray, but especially not living ones.) Generally I make more mistakes as a Villager/Good Guy then a Mafia/Bad Guy I don't really know what my tells are, as I... tend to not get suspect until I get very suspect.
  20. I'd say this is relatively quintessential standard for Quinn... but I'm generally terrible at reading people and the intents behind them. You know, this is a tad risky, but I'm going to see if I can summarize people if anyone would like something added to the record... uh... yell at me. Matrim's Dice: Mat's a bit of a jack of all trades. Relatively active, good with PMs, RP's some but not a lot, essentially a standard player. I guess the main attribute is that Mat's usually less serious than most, consistently. Gears: Relatively active, a strong analyzer, habitually analyzes the rules and the prior posts of the game. RP's some with consistency. Good with PMs, usually does a few long ones. Definitely not an AI. Azmine_King: No data (a new player, although seems to have experience with the Mafia). Friend of Illwei. Illwei: Very active to relatively active (former Most Active Player), probably the most skilled/dangerous player in PMs as she will get role claims from a LOT of people. Doesn't RP much. Tends to end up in the Thunderdome with Quinn/Araris/others (where the most active players find ways to be suspicious of each other quite constantly). Not very serious except about roleclaims. Trusts Mat a lot. To date, unkillable by execution ties, particularly if tied with me... Archer: Medium activity, but likes to post in large blocks. A good analyzer and good at making connections. Serious about analysis but not too serious about much else. Also likes PMs a lot (and draws them in like a magnet). A former Old Guard of the Alleyverse. Quintessential: Our current Most Active Player, usually. Posts a lot of short posts and keeps up with the thread best, and is also very skilled/dangerous with PMs at getting role claims / trusts. Tends to end up in the Thunderdome. Nicknamed a lot. Random Bystander: Medium-low activity but relatively high energy, somewhat active in PMs. Szeth_Pancakes: No data (a new player, although seems to have experience with the Mafia). Sojourner of the Longest Thread. Dannex: Medium activity, will RP, tries to solve things logically. Has an incredible aptitude for getting voted out D1 for doing absolutely nothing. Jondesu: A returning player, medium-low activity but if they scare Araris, they scare me. Ashbringer: Yours truly, designated RPer, gambit designer, kandra, relatively active and cursed to almost never get fun roles after playing my first game as a pseudo-SK. Araris Valerian: The oldest player in this game (unless Jondesu's older, but Araris has been around for years). Relatively active, the *Best Analyzer*, doesn't like players roleclaiming in PMs. Has a habit of voting out Elim teammates (bussing). Best person to ask for advice but also is very rarely trusted. Signature is very true. vonnegut: No data (a new player). PizzaPower55: A relatively new, low activity player. Don't think they've been Elim yet but I'm not sure. Flyingbooks: Low activity player but tends to be slippery. And now we play the "how many posts have I missed" game!
  21. I guess how I see Araris's post is that it's a standard Araris move to Stab Vote people, but most of us know that's what Araris does... so why'd he choose to reiterate?... I guess with 3 new players (4.5 from Araris's perspective, as I don't think he's played with Pizza yet and didn't play with the returning Jondesu), it makes sense to explain intent. So it's noted, but not enough for me to move when RandBy hasn't posted. ... why did I think Tani was a player? I specifically noted Xino was a pinch hitter... sigh.
  22. Let's see... Random Bystander! How are you doing this fine *checks clock* evening!
  23. Yeah... I'll drop out of consideration as well, seeing as I can hardly find time to read through an MU game around now... I would be more available in the summer but even that's not really something I can really plan for. So I'll let it go to someone else.
