The Curse of Death's newest recruit walked with purpose. At almost six months in, he had started to learn his way around their base. He had some information that had some relevance to their short-term goals, and good information at that. As such he was on his way to petition the leader. Some organizations had members ask their direct superiors, who would contact their superiors... Far more room for error. Far more time consumed. Far more inefficient. At last, he reached the center of the base. it was dimly lit, by design. That made the leader look far more imposing, something that was really quite unnecessary. But who was he to judge? "I have a proposal. We have reason to believe that the Fallen King and his followers have recently acquired an unusual asset. Shall we draft an alliance?" In this context, as in any where the Curse of Death was involved, the word "alliance" was used in the loosest way possible. "How sure are you of this?" "Seventy-five percent sure." "How valuable would this asset be?" "It depends on our most recent project's success. It could be worthless, or it could be nearly as valuable as knowledge of how to mass-produce pure skill. Or it could simply be another asset." "Very well. Tell them you wish to form an alliance." "The usual terms?" "Yes. The usual terms." Behind his mask, the member smiled.

"Not necessarily. Its command could be one that will attack you, but it could just as easily be one that says 'I am a stick,' or it could not be an Awakened object at all."

"Maybe. Or it could just be an Awakened object."

Just to see what would happen, Enter put a marshmallow and some chocolate into a bowl and melted them over a fire. When they were thoroughly melted and mixed, he let them solidify and made a s'more out of them. Then he got another marshmallow and stuck some chocolate chips in it to make a Marshmallow Inquisitor.

"Excellent. Let me just use my regrowth glue... and reconfigure this into a headset... done! His tongue will be completely regrown in about a week, and his headset will let him talk until then. Our next patient is a man who somehow got his hand and feet switched around. Any ideas?"
