  1. He continued to rest there. His breathing began to return to normal.
  2. Okay, I'll just have to wait till my muscle memory gets used to it.
  3. Mike didn't notice it, as his eyes were closed. He was content, for the moment.
  4. Mike smiled. He considered asking Erin their story, but decided not to. He instead leaned his head on thier shoulder.
  5. It should be fine ig. Just means you have to @ the person so they see it. Also when on mobile, when I receive a PM I have to either click read full message or the little x on the pop up that shows up. If I'm in the middle of a page when this happens, I scroll to the top to check the message (by habit) but you can't click anywhere until you click one of those on the pop up which means I just have to scroll all the way back down. Not the worst thing, but if it could be fixed it would be appreciated.
  6. Elsie makes her way towards the north shelter, hoping someone else is there.
  7. I think it will be awesome for double posts. I just feel like in PMs it isn't necessary and even detrimental as it doesn't send a notification for the second message.
  8. Mike drew in a shaky breath. "It's okay. Having someone to listen means the world... thank you."
  9. No tears came to Mike's eyes, but he leaned into the embrace. "I'm sorry. I thought I could tell you everything. It...looks like the wounds are still to fresh." He shivered. "I know people can change. Sometimes. But I can't change what I've done. That will haunt me forever."
  10. How do I tell this part? 'My father saw something in me that I never saw. Or anyone else really. Most of my family had loads of magical energy within them. I had barley any. And I also couldn't manipulate it in any way. It was almost like I was adopted. "Well, one day..." Mike's voice trails off. The moment he tries to access the memory his mind goes blank. He shakes his head and starts again. "Let's just say my father died when I was 13. It was because of me that he died. "Most people thought it was a freak accident. But my mom-" Mike's voice caught in his throat. "My mom, she knew. And she hated me for it. We lived a few years and life just got worse and worse for me. My mom, she tried to-" His mind went blank. Shades, I can't do this. "My mother died a few years after my dad, as did my three siblings. And it-" His voice cracked. He continues in a low whisper. "And it was all my fault."
  11. Shades. So she would have to kill so soon. That was okay. A few years ago she would have shriveled at the thought. But her life had changed for the worst. She has been forced to change with it. Elsie begins to look for another contestant. @Lotus Blossom
  12. "Many people tried to destroy my father. None succeeded. He knew of their plans long before his assassins ever did. He was generally an honest man, but he easily became wealthy. "He met my mother when they were twenty or so. She was a storyteller like none other. She loved finding unique people and writing all about them. My father was the perfect fit for her. If only she had also been the perfect fit for him. "See, my father could see in the future at will. But he either couldn't or chose not to see certain parts of the thread. I don't blame him, he was in love. "They had my older brother soon after they met. I came about a year after. Two more sisters followed. We were happy. Innocent might be a better word. "But we were safe. My father made sure of it. I didn't...know my father very well. But I do remember some things. He had the most amazing booming laughter. You couldn't help but smile when you heard it. As I grew up, I heard that wonderful sound less and less often.
  13. "I guess my story starts before I even existed. You see, my family has a genetic magical ability to manipulate magical matter and energy, though each of us can do so in a unique way. "My father was...special. He couldn't manipulate the way time interacts with magical energy, but he could peer into these threads of time, effectively seeing the future. "People are scared of power, and his seemed very powerful to many powerful people. They completely underestimated his ability. "Most people assume that the future is set in stone, that it can't be changed. My father... well, he proved that theory wrong."
  14. Elsie wakes up from a quick nap in her tree and continues. She realizes that shelters have been shown to everyone. She heads towards the closest free shelter at a steady pace, spear in hand.
  15. Not quite. For example for a large RP post I was writing out I wrote it in segments in separate messages in a personal pm so I sent them like at least 5 min apart and they merged. This is also happening in group PMs.
  16. Elsie found a large tree where the branches weaves together to form a sort of bed above the ground. She climbed up slowly with the spear and positioned herself so she could see the forest floor below her.
  17. "My names Michael. Michael Ladrian. My story is a long one, you sure you want all of it?"
  18. "Oh uhm. Okay. What do you want to know?"
  19. Elsie makes her way further into the forest, feeling more secure now that she has a weapon. Even if she could be plenty deadly without one...
  20. "Okay." She begins to walk in the opposite direction, but keeps an eye on Ephraim just in case.
  21. Mike smiled. "I'm here to listen, if you'd like."
  22. Mike leads them over to the rock and they both sit down. After a moment of silence, Mike begins to talk. "So...what's your story?"
  23. Elsie quickly picks up the spear and points it towards the other contestant. "I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to. And this will let me draw your blood. That will mean instant death with all the shades. So how about we just part ways and both live another day?" She tensed her knees, ready to move at a moments notice.
