      it would act like a trailer, because the plate pulls back on the magnet with the same force that the magnet pulls forward on the plate with, that backwards force is applied to the front car, and therefore it must push forward with enough force to overcome the backwards force and to push itself.

      The principle is called perpetual motion and it is impossible on a scale of anything less than the sum total of the universe.
