  1. “Knowledge is one thing. Skill is another. I mean, we don’t even receive our powers until tomorrow. I could be worst in the class for all I know.”
  2. "Yeah, I just I hope I'll be good at it... it'd be embarrassing if I couldn't get the hang of it."
  3. Tessa nodded. "Music's a great reason! I've always liked people and understanding them. I'd like to understand them, then write articles to help the world understand them."
  4. The man flipped through his papers for a minute before finally reaching the correct page. He promptly slid a sticker to Ben and dismissed him. “Group D.”
  5. “Oh, awesome!” Tessa said. “What interested you in it?” The man grunted. “Is your full name under a hundred syllables? Then yeah. Full legal.”
  6. "I'm Tessa," she said. "I'll be in Mind Harvesting. What about you?" @Isabelle6060
  7. Tessa looked around Group D, and decided to walk up to a draconic guy. "I like your glasses," she said politely. @DramaQueen
  8. “Instance? That’s a new one,” the man grumbled. He found Avery on the sheet then slid her card back. “Says here you’re with Group O. Wait, no, that’s a D. Can’t read my own darn handwriting.” He picked up the sticker and pointed at the sign in the field marked D. “Your group’s over there. Looks like your leader hasn’t shown up yet… ugh.” He turned around. “SABINA! WHERE THE HECK IS THE LEADER FOR GROUP D!?” He motioned for Instance to go away.
  9. The man waved away the dwarf student, then glanced up at the elf girl next in line. “Student ID?” he sighed.
  10. The man took it, examined it, rifled through his papers, then gave it back, handing him a sticker. "Ah. Group D."
  11. Students began to trickle in as the time approached. The line was moving pretty fast. The man looked Tuncay up and down. “Got a Student ID?”
  12. The man took it, looked it over, sighed at seeing the doodles, and slid it back without saying anything. "Well, when your group leader actually gets here, you'll be in Group D. Your leader will guide you through the orientation process. Here, take a sticker so you don't forget." He handed over a white sticker with a D on it. "Your group will meet together in the field outside. Wait for them there. Go."
  13. The man adjusted his glasses and flipped through his papers. "I'm gonna need you to spell that for me... wait, unless... ah, here you are. Enshao with an E. Aaaand let's see. Could you show me your Student ID?"
  14. The man chuckled. "Better than being late. It's okay. I was just about to set this place up anyway." He stepped back into a side office for a second then returned with a flimsy plastic green table cover, which he then draped over the desk. He pulled up a cheap wooden chair behind it then sat down, rifling through some papers. He glanced at Enshao. "I'll need your name and your age so I can find you."
  15. An old bearded man stepped out of a door into the hallway behind the desk, then began approaching it slowly, looking baffled. "Oh. Uh. Student? You're early."
  16. "I think we'll be just fine," she said. She yawned. "I'm exhausted and it's getting late, so I'll be heading to bed. 'Night." And with that, she stepped into her room, crawled into her bed, and lay there until her excitement and anxiety for tomorrow faded enough for her to drift off to sleep. Tessa woke up to the rage-inducing beeping that was her alarm going off. She shut it off and rolled back over in bed, until she realized she wasn't at home. She was at Greatowl University, and today was orientation. With excitement, she jumped out of bed, and with an enthusiastic energy that often evaded her in the morning, quickly got dressed and ready for the day. Deep blue jeans and a clean, fresh turquoise button-up shirt. She grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder, then ran to the door of the dormitory and slipped her shoes on. @Eluvianii @JesterLavorre @The Unknown Novel @Trutharchivist @Isabelle6060 @Channelknight Fadran @DramaQueen @NerdyAarakocra @Emery the Steelrunner @Knight of Iron
  17. Tessa, having already eaten with her mother, began to get herself ready for bed.
  18. “Oh—sure,” Tessa replied politely. “Yeah, it seemed most practical to what I wanted to do. It’ll be a bit scary, becoming a part of a whole new magic system. I just hope I picked right.”
  19. "The right side, if you don't mind," Tessa said. "Enchanting, that's fun! I'm going to be doing Mind Harvesting; learning to probe the minds of those around me and stuff. I'm interested in journalism, and it might come in handy. Plus, well, the constructs themselves might come in handy." Tessa zipped up her empty suitcase and rolled it into her room, then took a seat at the tiny table in the room. "Sorry, I'm exhausted. I've been in the car all day."
  20. Tessa nodded, eager. "I don't want one too old. A little baby dragon would be cute, though... not very powerful, but cute. Oh! Did ya know, dragons are theorized to have grown much, much larger in ancient history—and because of that, they might've been even more powerful and intelligent than humanoids, since they're the only beings capable of mastering two magic systems. And, speaking of... which magic class are ya taking?"
  21. “Not yet—soon, though! I’ve enrolled in the Magical Creatures class, and I’m planning on maybe taking the next couple days to decide exactly on what. Dragons are pretty useful, I’ve heard, though a bit too take care of.” She began looking around. “Where’s your mouse at?”
  22. "Me? I've a little bit of experience with cooking, but it's nothing special. I'll be spending my money and using my time as wisely as I can, here. Education, after all, is an investment! And this opportunity is not one I want to miss."
  23. Tessa shook her head, then pointed at the door to her bedroom. "That's just a bedroom—which I've claimed already. And over there is just another bedroom. We've only got the one kitchen, I think. Do you do much cooking?" @Trutharchivist @Emery the Steelrunner
