  1. Yeah "Feruchemy ended up being a balance system, because of how polar Ruin and Preservation were. Any world with at least two Shards will result in a similar phenomenon. " is clear enough for me, thanks. Theory dead That also explains that Sel has multiple magic systems too.
  2. Which two do you mean?
  3. Yeah, I agree that investiture running out is silly. That WoB is more evidence that what happened with the Atium was because of Preservation's work and not natural Cosmere physics. What I mean about it not being a Cycle is that its too complex to properly explain or even understand fully. Like real life physics where a section of society is dedicated to its study and we still barely understand a tiny bit of it thousands of years later.
  4. " Though… there is more philosophy to that and human construct" that's not clear to me...
  5. As Hoid said “What is it we value? Innovation. Originality. Novelty. But most importantly...timeliness..."
  6. That's not as easy as it seems. If you were to survive the harvesting someway, that harvesting wouldn't work so the spike won't have a charge. So, to both be alive an have an spike "keyed" to you would need to create an Identity-less Identity metalmind. Store your identity. Make someone else store their identity in another metalmind and tap yours the harvest him with a spike. I'm not sure if we will.see that one in the story.
  7. I've been thinking about this one for a while. I agree with @Wandering Investor about a shard not needing to be tied to a magic system. Now, the WoBs are evading the question about what shard is tied to Ferrochemy. He talks a lot about what they think in-planet, but nothing concrete. I have a theory that Ferrochemy was actually tied to Trell. There are clues about Trell in Era 1. Even if Trell is an avatar of Autonomy. The WoB do say more than one magic system can be associated to a shard. About who fuels it, sure the power that's being stored comes from the person. However, something needs to fuel the transfer from and to the storage. That would be like having a pen drive, it doesn't need electricity to keep the memories in. But you do need it to store it or fetch it. My guess is, Trell gave the power to the Terris. But Preservation was fueling it on Scadrial. Which is why there's a loss of power the more you tap at once. Its weaker that it should be.
  8. I think not, even those trace minerals need to be on your stomach to be used as reserves. I believe the iron that's naturally part of your body is tied to your spiritweb while you're alive and can't be considered reserves. Because it's kind of a small cog on the mechanics of allomancy would work. Now, that doesn't really deny the possibility of that changing when you become a sevant. Since we don't know how would the soul change.
  9. While I think @Lunu’anaki has a point. However, the pits were actually part of preservation's plan to deal with ruin. In my opinion we can't look at it like a regular flow or cycle. Otherwise. At some point people will start being born without breath just like Hastsin stoped producing Atium. No, I believe the way Investiture "moves" first depends on the magic system. How about Ferrechemy? Do you "burn" investiture there? In that case you use the investiture (condensed into metal) as a battery. And there's another important case in Sel. Where the investiture is apparently "trapped" in the cognitive realm. That one would appear to return to the cognitive realm immediately. Were not looking for a Cycle. More like an inverted spiral that has alternating short cuts and dead ends and its spinning upon itself both clock and counter clock wise (but the clock was not made from humans).
  10. That's a good one.
  11. Awesome! I've been thinking about that for a while. It always thought it weird that the soul just banished from the spiritual realm. The spirit web remaining, even if does degrade to a certain degree, makes much more sense than some theories I've read about.
  12. Do you have the link to that WoB? I want to pin down the differences between the "beyond" and the spiritual realm.
  13. I actually started with The Hero of Ages xD then I was hooked. I was visiting my mom and she got it to me without realizing it was the third of a series. I almost didn't read because of that. So lucky I was bored.
  14. What about your thought on the spiritual realm. I had a discussion about that on Reddit that was kind of disappointing. But, it also was just before Oathbringer, where we got a message from the soul of a regular person (Evi)
  15. Ohhhh yeah, I can't argue with that.
  16. Top is Vin, I like Kaladan too. As for secondaries you can probably guess is Ym. Magic system would be ferrochemy. And order of Radiant would be Edgedancers. How about you?
  17. Those are good points. But I think you might be underestimating how important was Spook's faith to Sazed. It was bigger than Urteau in my opinion. That recklessness was key to Sazed ascension.
  18. I wouldn't cast aspersions to Taravangian just yet. I feel a good twist about him coming. But still, why Spook? XD
  19. Yeah, I would also add count Ahan, but, at least he repented somewhat properly.
  20. Ohh yeah, that's definitively one of the reason he's the one that comes to mind as least favorite. He also sides with Odium, which is not great for popularity among humans. But @Honorless has a point. He is crazy, and because of a very noble reason.
  21. That's a good point. Its just hard to find a character I hate on the cosmere that hasn't had a twist like that of a satisfying enough death like Straff.
  22. That's a thinker. I would say Nalan, he murdered Ym :'(
  23. Thanks! Right now it's just a prototype, but yeah still a bunch of work. I want to wait before I share any links. But, no rules about sharing a bit. it's called The Children of Preservation, I went with a 2D platformer because I though it the best way to control steel pushes and Iron pulls. The first prototype only let you burn Iron and steel. Now I included pewter, tin, brass, Zinc, and other features from the story.
  24. How about a pass frase to proof I'm real? Those are some nice boots bridge boy.
  25. That's a hard one. I'd say the Hero of Ages is my favorite. About Hoid, I started to believe he wants to become/make a new Adonalsium by compounding all the different kinds of investiture. A little context for that, we know he's been gathering powers from all the planets. There's a WoB where they ask Brandon, what if an allomancer burned an awakened metal like nightblood. He was not specific, but he did say it would be a difference. That made me believe compounding might not be limited to allomancy and ferrochemy.
