Nardaf the Obligator had no idea what he was doing, but he had finally joined Sanderson Elimination, and he was dedicated to figuring out how the heck it worked. -
"With power that corrupting, it's too much to hope that there aren't any other bad people who have attained Clarity."

"Here, let's go to the command tent, to, uhh..." He glances around the soldiers, and, figuring it probably wasn't a good idea to lower Herate's image in their eyes, said, "strategize."

"We can assume, but let's not hope."

"I'm unsure. I had thought, upon my enlightenment in the Krystal Caves, that it was perhaps achieved by a state of mind; the kind of state of mind that a benevolent god would possess. After seeing that child, though..." He shivered, "I fear that there may be more than one way of getting there; and not all of them are good."

Fadran doesn't say anything, watching Herate carefully out of the corner of his eye.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. Closer than most, perhaps, but not anywhere near my goal."

"It's been a goal of mine since I first entered the Krystal Caves."

"I'm assuming that you've heard of Clarity?"

"I... I suppose."

"I... it's a ridiculous fantasy anyways."

"Then I suppose our next stop is the Krystal Caves. We'll stop by the Capital on our way there to get you some medical attention, and possibly warn the authorities about this new 'god' person." His voice turned wistful. "Perhaps while we're there... no."

"Very sorry about that. I could assist you in making a new one, if you would like."

"Did you ever take the Trials of Fyre?"

"It'll be more your favorite then dealing with an infected compound fracture."

"Here and there. I haven't stayed in one place for a long time. Hold still." He continued wrapping her arm. "I was sent to take the Trials of Fyre when I turned twelve years old, and while they were difficult, I had no wish to leave behind the tranquil natures of an enlightened state. The cave that I was sent into was full of threats, but it was also full of peace. When I had an idle moment, I would sit and wait, letting the magic of the crystals flow by." He tied a knot at the end of the bandage; they would have to be changed, but they would do for now. "Let me know if that starts bleeding through, or if you feel any throbbing pains. We'll need specialized medicines to completely heal that."

"It really isn't possible to get through life without the help of other people." He bandages her arm, layering it several times because it was bleeding quite a bit.

Leonas drew upon his diamonds, then shoved the bone back into place. Dulling or no dulling, he didn't expect that to feel great.
