Janice wiped some more blood off her face (there was an awful lot of it) and ran over to Corwin. She swung her sword at a yevon and decapitated it, nearly losing her lunch at the sight.

An arrow sank into the yevon's shoulder, making it roar out in pain. Unfortunately, this made it even more angry; it charged at Janice. Hold your place this time! Trace yelled at her. The yevon jumped, and Janice swung. It was a blind swing, but hit nonetheless. She felt her blade drag through the flesh of the creature, and a stream of blood splattered all over her face and clothes. She stumbled backwards, hacking and spitting, but still very much alive and unharmed. There you go, Trace said affirmatively. Your first kill. Far from it, Janice thought to herself, but she didn't argue. She steadied her blade, wiped the blood off her face, and prepared herself for the next attack.

Another yevon growled and set its sights on Janice. Alright! Good luck! Trace vanished. "Wait! Tra--" Janice swallowed and put the sword blade between her and the yevon. Alright. I can do this. I can do this. I can't do this.

"I don't--" Janice shook her head. "Now's not the time to talk about it. Come on." She pushed herself to her feet and brandished her sword. Kay. Trace appeared beside her and steadied the sword blade; best she could, anyways, without being able to touch things. Remember to keep yourself in a defensive stance at all times. If you're attacking, you're moving from one defensive to another. That way, nobody can chop off your arm while you stab them in the face.

Masquerade - These Masks We Wear
Channelknight Fadran replied to Zephrun’s Imperium's topic in Roleplaying
So there she was. Two hours ago, Wendy had been a rebel in Robin Custos's gang, training to fight against the forces of the king. When she'd seen Ara captured by the guards, she'd ran inside unheeding of her own safety to save the child. If she died trying, she'd die fighting the king. So there she was. On the floor, wearing a palace waitress's uniform, pushing a massive pile of broken glass into a towel; all in service of the king. Tears on her face? Yes. Of course. Completely useless? Without a doubt. How long would she be doing this kind of thing? A week? A month? Years? No time to worry about that now. She finished pushing the glass into the towel and folded it over itself, dropping the whole thing into a bag. She put the bag into the corner, hoping that she wouldn't get yelled at for not taking it to a trash pile she didn't know the location of. The taskmaster guy said that he'd send someone to get her after she was done. Scanning the room, she didn't see anyone. I guess I'll wait, then. @Random Bystander- 5114 replies

Ayia cast out her Line and summoned one of her staves, crouching slightly in preparance to shoot off towards the creatures. "Fadran," she said, "get the kids out of here." With that, she shot into the distance. Sparks flew as the bits of her armor scraped against the cable, and the wind battered the hair out of her face. The speed at which she and the creatures were approaching each other was remarkable. As she approached, color continued to warp and distort. Just like it had a few days ago at the lab. Interception. Ayia swore. Dyrlings. @xinoehp512 Ayia cast out her Line and summoned one of her staves, crouching slightly. "Fadran," she said, "get the kids out of here. With that, she shot into the distance. Since when did she give me orders? Fadran wondered, amused. He figured she probably had reason to, though, so he quickly wiped the smile off his face and got to work. "Craven!" He said, grabbing the kid's hand. "Let's get you the the heck out of here. Where's Tvora?" @Matrim's Dice @Tani

"Take these." The taskmaster shoved a bundle of clothes into Wendy's arms. "Put those on. No wasting time. Some idiot shattered a bunch of cups in the ballroom and someone needs to clean up the mess." "But--" "The king is offering you protections in return for your service around the palace. Play nice and you can go free eventually." "I--" "Didn't I say not to waste any time? Get to work, idiot! I'll send someone to go fetch you once you're done and take you to your chambers." The Taskmaster rubbed his eyes, turning around and walking away. "Stars, people oughta warn me before givin' me new employees in the middle of the night..."- 5114 replies
