Janice closed the door to her room, breathing heavily. She pulled off the bloodstained ninja wrappings, tossing them into a nearby trash can. After taking a quick shower and pulling on her tank top, she changed into the one outfit she'd kept from their shopping session: a knee-length skirt, white button-up, and gray fleece vest. She also threw on the scarf, though it didn't exactly fit the theme.
After that, she sat down on the bed and pulled the blanket around herself. What had come over her? Vespyr wouldn't be available for at least another hour. Why had she just run out of there like a spooked alleycat? There wasn't any reason... right?
Even if there is a reason, it's not important right now. Janice nodded affirmatively to herself. Right now, it's the Queen and everyone to worry about, not... boys and crushes and dumb things like that. She pulled her knees up to her chest, breathing deeply. Did that mean now wasn't the time to worry about Aryanna and Cadenza? Or wherever Lloyd was?
She sighed. Maybe I'll just go with my gut on this one. School: yes. Friends: yes. Boys: no.
Right then, Trace popped into existence. "Hi there!"
"AH!" Janice fell backwards. She quickly composed herself, though, and pushed herself into an upright position. "I was getting dressed in here! Haven't you ever heard of privacy?"
"Hey, I waited!" Trace looked around. "Pretty... dingy sort of place. One would think that with all his power, Vespyr would've invested in decent housing..."
"What're you doing here?" Janice demanded. "You aren't supposed to be in the school!"
"I'm here because I learned something today." Trace continued examining the room, taking a silent note of what was in the trash can and quickly averting her eyes.
"Well good for you, but I doubt it was either 'give people privacy when they're changing' or 'listen to people when they banish you for time and eternity.'"
Trace chuckled. "Nope! What I learned is that I can hear the Queen giving orders to other yevon."
