  1. "General, not even you could turn down a decent shindig."
  2. ...can I be Merlin? Edit: So I looked over the wiki page (I thought it was just an explanation of who King Arthur was when I first saw it tbh) and I didn't realize that this was a TTRPG. Would we be doing the RPG itself, just post-by-post, or would it be more freeform with inspiration drawn from the game?
  3. "Don't leave us. Don't you dare leave me!" "Ayia--" Fadran said her name firmly. "Take a step back. Breathe." She nodded. Right. Ayia took in a breath and composed herself, but when she spoke her voice was slightly cracked. "You're... you're gonna be okay. Right?"
  4. Ayia panicked. It wasn't her fault, really. She pulled herself to her feet and ran over to Tvora, tripping and falling right beside her. Grasping Tvora's hand in her own, she began to shake her. "Tvora! TVORA!"
  5. "Of course there are still the festivities, but we can cut those as short as need be."
  6. I'm still pretty on the young side myself, but... I dunno. I guess doing this author thing for awhile (and watching a lotta Hello Future Me and Daniel Green) has put me into the perspective of spectrum appreciation. And I get that some people just don't like some things; for example, I cannot stand romance novels. But other people certainly can. You're allowed to not like LotR, pal. If you're not trashing it, you're cool. (Also the hobbits aren't at the end of their arcs in the books but, like... they're hobbits)
  7. And I have the... supported by literally everyone else on the planet high ground?
  8. So... I admit There is a certain mindset required to really enjoy Tolkien's books. When I read LotR for the first time, I didn't like it very much. I didn't think it was bad, but I certainly didn't see why everyone saw it was so great. I'm currently reading through them again, but I've changed my approach. I'm not reading it like I would a Brandon Sanderson book: LotR isn't a plot or character-driven piece of literature. It's not something you can just marathon read and expect to enjoy. If you take the time to soak in every word and experience the world that he spent a lifetime creating, you're going to absolutely love them. If you're reading them for incredibly vivid battle scenes and whatnot, then you're in the wrong category. So am I saying that everyone has to love them? No. No I am not. If you don't want to make yourself have a different mindset when reading something, then that's perfectly fine. What I'm also not saying, though, is that you're allowed to rake it through the crem because you were too lazy to put some thought into it. There is character development, there are emotions, and by the Almighty are there some good songs in there. There're also some trash ones, but like... who cares? Tani, don't try it. There's no convincing Frustration. Maybe we should take a thematic note of that... ...last night? Also the characters in books don't do that. Change just kinda... happens naturally. Also I find it as less of "this character needs to change" and more of a "this character needs to personify the progression of the story" kinda thing.
  9. Who summoned-- ... ... Kay. HAVE YOU NO TASTE OR SOUL, O HERETIC?
  10. "For your convenience, of course, general. Not for your mandatory accompaniment."
  11. Ivian cleared his throat. "I've prepared a wing of the castle of the two... young loverbirds. They'll each have their own rooms, of course."
  12. Janice frowned, quietly switched out the book for the one Vespyr had probably meant to grab, then went to find someone she could've sworn she'd seen around. @Fallapede
  13. I know you know I have unreleased chapters. That doesn't mean you get to have them.
  14. Alex ran after her as fast as he could--which wasn't very fast compared to her, but it was fast enough.
  15. "We have plenty of Fellowshippers. I'm sure some would love to come with." Fadran looked around. "I'll be staying, 'cuz this is where the Fellowship proper is. Ask around: I'm sure you'll glet some volunteers." @Enter a username @Scarletfox @Kings_way @Voidspawn @Chasmgoat @midnight13
  16. "Not one of those things I can explain, I'm afraid." Ayia shrugs. "It's more of an intrinsic thing."
  17. "A girlfriend is a friend that is a girl, 'cept there's also some romance thrown in there."
  18. "Umm... Leonie's Special Recipe?" She giggled. "I don't know."
