“He’s asleep right now.” “…Hello.”

“I…” Fadran seemed just a little suspicious.

“…I see.”

Vance frowned. She was being too dramatic with her changes. He’d have to talk to her about that.

“Hello, Pythor. Welcome to the Mishmash Inn.”

“Yes! Do you know him?”

“…Yes. And you are?” “Me! Hello.”

There was a flash and a bang, louder than any of them could’ve possibly comprehended. The glengal didn’t make a sound during the event, the lightning striking and coursing straight through its body in one agonizing instant. It would’ve felt akin to a boulder smashing across its entire body, or perhaps a god smiting it from the inside out. But the instant after the shockwave roiled across the mountainside, the glengal fell completely limp. Smoke rose from its body with a quiet hiss. Kaeni would’ve been panting if any wind was left in her lungs to breathe.

“Okay?” That seemed like a weird way to start a conversation.

“Here you are,” Fadran said, handing her a key. “Nice to meetcha.”

Fadran handed keys to both him and his sister (Enter already had one).

“Well…” Fadran gestured to the quarter of a million people that had just showed up.

Fadran grinned. "How've you been?"

Fadran sighed, then perked up again and smiled. "Hi, EmLee!"

The room stilled.

Icona subtly moved the little lad to his bed, pulling the cover over him.

"Br-" Fadran blinked again. "You have a brother?" That was a stupid question and he knew it.

"And-" Fadran blinked.

Fadran glanced at Enter. "You know this guy?" "Icona's keeping an eye on him. Don't worry about him too much."

"It is, indeed, my inn. Nice to meet you Klave." Fadran shook his hand.

"The Mishmash Inn. D'you need anything?" The crayon, fortunately, did not seem fazed or offended by this action. Instead it just floated there for a moment. "Sure thing." He handed them a key.
