Fadran seemed hesitant, but eventually walked off to the brother's room.

"I have no reason to believe you or them at this time. I'm going to handle this neutrally." Fadran stood up, hand on his katana's hilt. "Please stay here while I talk to him."

"If you're correct, then there's no telling if this 'impostor' is willing to be as courteous. I'll interrogate them after this before you can meet him."

"Then tell me more. I'd like to handle this peacefully."

"Alright. Sounds..." Fadran shrugged. Somewhat normal, at this point. "But he doesn't seem to be afraid of his brother at all. Why do you think he's an impostor?"

"I think you underistimate how much I know right now. You claim to be the boy's true ally, but also that I can't know whatever it is you have to tell him? If we're on the same side, then withholding your knowledge is pointless."

"The boy is safe. If you have something to say, I'll need to hear it first."

"What makes you say that?" Fadran handed him the money back with a key. "No need. Your room will probably have an ammo box."

"I'm afraid so. We're very strict with client confidentiality."

"Can I carry the message?"

"Ah-hah. What do you need with them?"

"We have a few of those here. Which one?"

"It's free, as long as you don't blow anything up."

Fadran squeaked a little at the health code violation, but quickly snatched a massive tub of medical supplies and started attending the newcomer. "Jeez, where did you come from? A battlefield? Pungee pit?"

"Of course not! Like I said earlier, this place is also just a safe space for wanderers and people who need helping."

And I don't just mean out in the wild without any way to go. I mean he'd been trying to run away and forget about things he'd rather not know. And all that to say that as soon as a door was open for him, he walked inside; and now he's here, and I intend to help him - and you, and everyone - as best I can." However little that might be.
