A strange man dropped out of the worm and healed Corette. Covered in disgusting worm juices and leaking darkness, the newcomer was the scariest-looking man Allri had ever seen, but right now, she'd take any help she could get. With a sigh of relief, she extinguished her cadmium and scanned the rest of the room. The woman who'd been cut out of the worm earlier was in the pool, and she didn't seem injured at all. As Allri watched, the woman got up, dried herself, and started eating the dead worm. Wait, what? Shuddering, Allri turned away. That was something she didn't need to see. The sound of Rig's voice brought her back to herself. He'd agreed to train her, and so had Corette, who was apparently a bronze misting. Listening to their banter, Allri could forget the dangers of the last few minutes. She found herself wondering how Rig would show off, and what was better than whiskey... oh. Blushing, she mumbled a quick "thanks" and scampered away, leaving the two together. She found herself next to another group, recognizing the man with the bomb and the girl who survived being eaten. Where had that bomb gone, anyways? She tapped the man on the shoulder. "Where did you put your bomb?" @I think I am here.

Allri nodded. Rigex and the other woman-Corette, he'd called her-seemed unconcerned, with jokes ready just moments after the worm's death. How could they be so nonchalant about it? She had never been in so much danger before. Maybe that was why. They'd said that this was a regular thing for them, and after seeing them in action, Allri believed it. They were calm under pressure and very good at what they did. Corette had managed to sneak up on the worm and stab it in exactly the right place while it was moving, and Rig had been so good with his steel, flying around the cave seemingly effortlessly and driving the knife through the worm's head. Remembering her own Steelpushing accidents, Allri winced. She wasn't a safe and sheltered socialite anymore, and could absolutely not afford any mistakes like that again. She needed to get good, and it would go a lot faster if she could learn from a master. Noticing for the first time that Rig was at least a head taller than her, she looked up at him. "Could you teach me how to use steel, please?" She heard a thump and turned, only to see Corette on the floor, covered in blood. Allri stepped forwards, ready to help, then realized that she knew nothing about healing. She forced herself to breathe in, then out, desperately trying to calm herself, to think of something, anything, that she could do to help. Corette didn't deserve this, she'd helped so much with killing the worm, keeping the rest of them safe. It wasn't fair for her to die here! An idea! Maybe Allri couldn't heal Corette, but she could buy time for someone with real healing to get here. She called for help, then threw up a cadmium bubble, hoping desperately that help would arrive in time. @TrailRunnin @ZincAboutIt

The worm reared, emitting an unearthly cry. Even in its dying throes, it was dangerous-something of that size would always be. Fortunately, most people stayed well clear, waiting as the worm's motions dwindled. After a while, even those stopped, and Allri let herself breathe again. The air was refreshing, relaxing, a much needed respite after the fear and tension of the fight. When she'd arrived, even knowing that most worlds weren't like Scadrial, she hadn't been prepared for this at all. Of course, not knowing hadn't helped either-even now, a part of her just wanted to curl up into a ball and feel safe. Instead, she focused on her Allomancy, feeling the reserves and the steady burns, calming herself with the one part of Scadrial that she'd managed to bring with her. Her metals wouldn't last forever, though, and the outside world called. Reluctantly, she extinguished her metals and turned to the people around her. "Hi, I'm Allri, and yes, I'm Mistborn." The words brought up memories of her Snapping, surprisingly fresh, and she took a moment to center herself. Remembering her ballroom training, she forced a weak smile, then continued. "So, who are you guys? Do you do this sort of thing everyday?"

How much would a Rosharan surge cost without the physical enhancements of Stormlight? How about Stormlight's physical enhancements without Surges, or all 10 surges combined? Would I get a discount, like the ones Feruchemists get?

Outside, the worm thrashed around wildly. A woman near it had jumped onto it and jammed a knife in, and this time, the worm seemed to notice it. As Allri watched, keeping up her Rioting, two more people took cover behind the rocks near her-the woman who had stabbed the worm just now and a man holding a package. Both of them wanted the Coinshot to help-the man wanted him to throw his homemade bomb into the worm, while the woman wanted him to push her knife deeper. It would take an experienced Coinshot to do either. With the way the worm was thrashing around outside, any mistimed Push might send the knife flying out of it or throw the bomb onto someone. Her own Steelpushing probably wouldn't cut it here, but the Coinshot who'd warned her could pull it off. Allri stopped burning her steel-she didn't want to interfere-then looked at the Coinshot. Was there anything she could do to help? She looked through her metal reserves, remembering the new metals that TUBA had given her. Cadmium... Chromium... Nicrosil, that was it. A metal that could make other Allomancers stronger. She smiled. Allri reached out and touched the Coinshot's arm, ready to start burning. "If you're going to Push something, I can help you with my nicrosil. On your mark?" @TrailRunnin

Allri blushed as his words sank in. She was standing out in the open while she Rioted, completely exposed if the worm decided to go for her. A rookie mistake. Before she could beat herself up more, the man shot off towards the rocks in a graceful arc. A Coinshot. She could do that too! She burned steel, watching the blue lines appear, then dropped a coin and tentatively pushed. Nothing happened-the push was too weak. She pushed again, harder this time. Allri hadn't been expecting the push to have that much force, and the speed and height of her jump took her by surprise. She sailed over the rocks-oops, she'd overshot. Scanning the other side of the room for blue lines to push against, she noticed her direction changing. Too late, she realized that she was coming down without anchors. She landed roughly, but quickly got up and scrambled to the pile. Leaning back against the rocks, she shivered. Steelpushing wasn't as easy as it looked. After a moment, Allri had recovered enough to peek around the side of the rocks. The battle outside was still going on. Unfortunately, the worm was still going strong. Most people were moving more and looking more alert, which was nice. A woman near the beast was holding a rock, seeming out of it, but Allri was already Rioting the room as much as she could and couldn't stop to focus on one person. She turned to the Coinshot, who'd got here earlier than she had, and without as many bruises. "What is that thing?" @TrailRunnin

Allri Venture walked out of an elevator and into a warzone. She'd skipped the briefing, figuring that she didn't need it for a simple stroll in a cave. As she got her first look at her surroundings, she really wished that she hadn't. There was a huge worm in the center of the cave, and it was angry. All around Allri, people fought, but to her eyes, they might as well have been trying to Soothe a stone. Speaking of Soothing, she felt like someone was trying to Soothe her. The battle before her seemed unimportant, all of a sudden. The fear that she'd felt upon first seeing the worm had melted away, replaced by peace and calm. It felt exactly like her father's Soothing. The situation was a little different, though-instead of bedtime stories, she was listening to gunfire. This was no time for complacency. Quickly, Allri downed a vial and burned copper. The Soothing stopped, the weight of the situation hit her, and suddenly Allri felt a lot like running away. Unfortunately, the elevator had already gone back up. What now? Getting up close was out of the question. As she watched, the worm snatched up a few more motionless figures. Why weren't they moving? It was probably the Soothing Allri had felt before. She didn't know who was doing it, but it was killing people out there, and she had to help. She flared zinc, Rioting alertness across the room.

Alright, I'll join TUBA. Where do I sign?

Any sort of plot is fine. Into the Dark looks nice, but it's been going on for a while and I don't know how to join smoothly at this point. Do you have any guild recommendations?
-
Hi, I'm new to the Alleyverse. How do I get started?
